This is how omd should of done it. Even thou i still like the way they done it. omd should rerecord this stunning song with the pipes and drums... they are a great band loved them from day one...
@grenierguy4652 This is without doubt the finest version I have ever heard of this the most emotive tune ever written. Andy Mcluskey wrote it as a tribute to the most remarkable and unique figure in history. "La pucelle " on the 550'th anniversary of Jehanne's death. La pucelle will never be forgotten.
OMD were/are an electronic band, back in the day that was about the most rebellious thing you could be (just look at MM/NME at the time!). Maid of Orleans sounds great with pipes but the original synth version is seasoned as well, the sound is so rich and full.
Sorry Joan of ark is another song done by omd. Maid of Orleans absolutely amazing. Always wanted to hear a proper live pipe band do this cover. Amazing thankyou
One would almost believe, OMD wrote it specifically for bagpipe ... .
Beautiful.
I've listened to a few real bagpipes versions of this classic on TH-cam, but this one is the tightest and best. 👏
I might be wrong , but did OMD do a cover of this ...... haha .. cheers from Dundee .....

I've always thought OMD blundered by not having pipes on the intro...thanks for a great upload
I read somewhere they wrote it to sound like pipes
Absoloutely. You really can't beat the haunting sound of Real Pipes. OMD did not give me shivvers or make my eyes wet! ;)

@ markbarrow19 I can judge from that assinine comment that your ears must be painted on. They certainly don't work anyway.
