    Just a few tips.....you can remove the oil line that runs to the oil cooler from the motor and the oil filter will come right out the side vice trying to remove that bracket and wiggle it out the top. Get a torque wrench, the oil fill bolt is 22nm...its super easy to strip that bolt because its an aluminum pan, you strip it and its going to be EXTREMELY expensive (torque wrench on amazon is 50 bux or hit up Harbor Freight)...take pictures of your odometer or log your change in a log book for warranty purposes, although with you running a tune, fighting BMW over the oil change will be the least of your worries if you need warranty work on the motor...LOL. Your ECU tracks how many times the tune has changed, so they know you tuned it even if you return it to stock....they cant tell what you have done, but they know its been modified and changed back due to the number of tune changes. Good video man!!

      Thanks for the tips man, I’ve been working around cars/bikes my whole life i just kind of know when it’s tight enough. But you are right, better be safe than sorry😝 and yes I know the tune is an iffy part of warranty but it’s amazing and I wouldn’t want the bike without the tune tbh. The bikes been reliable to me so I’m not worried about it

      @@s1kdk Yep...I totally get it....I am same way. I tuned every bike I ever owned, never cared about warranty ever, as most dealerships I woudlnt want them touching anything on my bike anyhow. This time I bought an M1000RR, and have seen all the failures, so its literally the first time I have ever paused in my thinking, as its a LOT more complicated of a machine, I am seeing things that appear to be either failed bearings or improper assembly at factory...so its a bit more "REAL" this time. LOLZ. On the oil pan, this is the beefiest drain plug I have ever seen going into the lightest grade aluminum...so even I simply used my torque wrench and video'd it on my first change....LOLZ>..cuz if it strips I am lighting up my dealer for a warranty replacement... :D. Probably 20-25 bikes I have owned this is the first that I am actually being anal about proving I am doing stuff correctly cuz the dealers are being so pitiful about warranty

    Great video. Was you able to reset the service notification?

    • @s1kdk
      @s1kdk  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, you need a GS911 tool to reset the service yourself. I bring it to my dealer and they do it for me for free :)

      @@s1kdk that's what I figured. Imma do the same 💯👊🏿

      Yeah save yourself the money, if you want to do a lot of other maintenance yourself I’d suggest investing into a GS911 otherwise it’s cheaper to just bring it to the dealer to reset. My service light is on right now doesn’t even bother me tbh lmaoooo

    what about the service light that comes on the dash? do i need the gs-911?

    • @s1kdk
      @s1kdk  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes the GS-911 to clear the code or bring it to your dealer to have them clear it for you. Some will for a small fee. But investing in a GS-911 does more than clear codes and helps with a lot of maintenance

      Revzilla is a trusted website, see if they have them in stock otherwise I’m 90% sure BTMOTO sells them!

    Is that a low profile filter? With low profile filter you could avoided removing all this stuff to change filter

    • @s1kdk
      @s1kdk  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That is a OEM BMW filter, not sure if they sell low profile, however I have no problem removing the few things to fit it!

    • @giannins
      @giannins 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @s1kdk bmw dealer sells OEM low profile filter for aftermarket headers. Check next time, it will save you time and others too. If you still wanna remove all those stuff, by all mean do it lol
