Great work Phil. It is a nightmare we are not allowed to purchase the ESD IC. Hey thanks for the video mate. Had one X with a smashed ESD chip and without replacement chips this needed to be done. It does work on 4K UHD for me and can freely switch between resolutions so perhaps the HDMI IC needs to be swapped as well for those with that issue? At any rate, thanks again!
Great work, been watching your videos for awhile, very good channel. Shame that this ESD/HDMI booster is the only protection for southbridge, as one of the points is directly connected to one on the balls underneath it, so in case of another surge, southbridge will take the hit, but at least it's working for a bit longer to serve it's purpose :)
Hi - I'm having situation on my Xbox One S. No display and the controller is not paired. Checked my router page and the xbox is not connected either. Tried different HDMI cable/displays but no luck. I don't hear any Hard disk failure noise and I can hear the spinning noise. Could it be display port or IC issue ?
Hi I have an xbox one s, I ve changed the retimer and the hdmi but the console gives no signal on the 720p TV at all, but on the HD TV works fine on all display settings from 480 to 1080 so it displays on HD tvs as tested on three but nothing on the 720p TV I also have another which I bypassed the ESD chip on which was and is still doing the same as this, is this chip critical on displaying on the older tvs?.

I’ve got a weird one here. Same console. But does not auto detect correctly. You can manually select hdmi and then all it goes up to is 1440p. Allowing 4K comes back with it’s not supported. This is normal because auto set video output needs to be on. However when selecting this all I get is 640/480 output and nothing else. Has I’ve fitted 2 new tdp158 and still same issue. So there must be a line on the hdmi port that talks to the tv but this is not working. Any ideas? Thanks
