Every Cheshire everywhere (pretty much until the No.1 EP release in Jan 2019): this group has an identity crisis, get your sh@t Cube & settle on a concept! The interesting (& sad, for me anyway) thing is the girls wanted more of a girl crush concept from the beginning & from what I understand that was the idea until Cube (yet again!) happened. Cube, in their infinite wisdom, changed the concept prior to debut to cute because they didn’t want CLC to compete with their established, mega-girl crush/sexy group 4minute. It was really really stupid! And don’t even get me started on how Cube screwed (up) 4minute beginning around this time..... Anyway yes, this is a song with a little bit of an identity crisis & maybe wouldn’t have slotted well as the post Hobgoblin title track. Having said that, Where Are You was chosen & while it is very good song that highlights the groups vocal prowess, I feel it led to an even greater identity crisis with the group in general. I Like It would have worked so much better because it had some of the sexy/sassy feel of Hobgoblin to continue to draw in more new fans but it held on to some of the cuteness that some long time fans wanted. Keep in mind they could have worked out how best to do that thru an mv. And yes, please look into/react to some of their b sides! I would argue that CLC, along with Mamamoo, Red Velvet & DreamCatcher, have one of the best catalogs in kpop! Breakdown (my fav CLC song), Like It (no, not I like It-but there is a dance practice vid for this), I Need U, Meow Meow, Show, Distance & Mistake are some of my favorites. Thanks again for continuing to support they girls....they’re awesome!
It kinda feels like 2018 onwards CLC figured out their vibe better, but the group overall had already been somewhat crippled by the lack of differentiation & clear messaging/marketing from the 2015-2017, and then also at that stage had lost the "new" factor which attracts public curiosity. Hopefully they'll be able to capitalise on Helicopter. We're now living in fear of a) a long hiatus and b) that their contracts will end. T_T Haha so confusing have a Like It and I Like It in one groups discography. Are they linked in some way? We like the sound of Meow Meow. Solid song name!
Haha we will for sure. It was probably next on or list until the guide teased I like it last week. We are obviously easily distracted by colors and shiny things haha

Thanks for more CLC! I like it is a great bside! But CLC's bsides are very good in general. Check out the Black Dress, Hobgoblin and No album bsides for sure! As commented below Where are you and Distance are slower more ballady songs. They werent so well received especially after the smash hit of Hobgoblin but nontheless they are good songs.
You actually nailed the two concepts thing ;) This song is very interesting because it keeps changing between a major key and a minor key, which in music are used to give the feeling of happiness/completeness and sadness/something wrong respectively. That's why that change into the pre-chorus is so bright (changes to major), then feels weird when it drops into minor in the chorus itself. I've seen a lot of people compare it to 'Man in the Mirror' from Michael Jackson. The pre-chorus especially reminds me of it. And I love that "glitch" at 4:24 :D This song is a b-side for 'Where are you', which is the main track between Hobgoblin and Black Dress. You should listen to it to complete your post-hobgoblin journey ;) Many people say they would have preferred if this song was the main track instead of 'Where are you', because the change wouldn't be so drastic. But both songs sound really good, and I'm excited for you to start diving into their b-sides soon :D. I think I even like some of the b-sides more than some of the main tracks, but again it's all really good xd For me the members that changed most in appearance are Yeeun and Seunghee, who in Pepe feel a lot younger (not that they are old now lol just mature). Also Elkie. Elkie to me seems way different in the recent eras that when she was first introduced in 'High Heels' and 'No Oh Oh'. Probably a change in makeup is also making me see this, but I know nothing of makeup so I can't tell for sure xd.
Ah is that why the song feels confusing. It kinda felt like okay we get it, and then bham okay maybe we dont!? The glitch is fun, actually for a performance video it was better quality than we expected. Haha we'll check out Where are you soon. We got distracted by the colors of I Like It. Hmmm probably a mix of makeup/styling and then maybe the post teenager glow up as well for Elkie and Yeeun?
