Looking back, not to get depressing, but I think I loved this season as a kid because of all the post 9/11 love and respect for our servicemen. I know you don't talk about the tv show itself all that much but it's crazy this design was in 99' and fell into my lap post 01 mostly watching reruns. I loved looking up to what felt like real people doing good. Adults fixing things and doing right. I loved Carter and the entire season like you said was weirdly realistic compared to other ones. Super cool I thought!
I think light-speed/victory Robo is a great design. Almost seems like the original designer worked his way backwards from the combination into the individual mecha.
Ah I love this megazord, never really had many Megazords myself as a kid but my friend had almost all of the zords that existed at that point so I was able to play with most of them. I remember loving the Lightspeed Rescue zords and how they all interacted with the Train Megazord. In fact I might have even borrowed the Lightspeed Rescue Megazord from him at some point? I just remember playing with it a lot and loving the detailing and vehicle modes. Maybe I should buy one for myself.
I have the Super Minipla one, and it's still a really excellent design even though presented smaller. One thing I like about the Super Minipla is that it's still able to pose as stiff as the original DX toy, the box-iness and chunkiness is just really peak of the late 90's back then.
One of my favourite mecha designs, mainly the head design and punching action gets my attention and its interactivity with the rest of the light speed zords
I had the LS megazord when I was little and honestly never had problems with the clips on 2, looking now I wished they'd given us either a new sword with the gold hilt but a like maybe chrome blade and maybe a sticker to over the insignia on the sword to kinda match the onscreen prop, still a great megazord
Civilian: "IT'S THE LIGHT SPEED RESCUE POWER RANGERS! WE'RE SAVED." Carter: "Alright guys, let's pull 'em together. Niiiiiice and eaaaasy now..." *green grabs blue* Carter: "Niiiiiiiiiiiiiice and slow." Civilian: "COULD YOU GO ANY FASTER. WE ARE FUCKING DYIN-- OH GOD--" Carter: "Shu-shu-shut the fuck up. Shush. Has to be right. One wrong move and we could dent something and it'll never combine. So just... that's it. Nice. Good stuff. ALRIGHT GUYS, TIME TO-- Oh shit." *city destroyed; villains gone*
Lightspeed rescue was my return to power rangers and I loved it. I was 9 at the time and stopped watching when I was 13. Dino Thunder brought things full circle for me and it was a nice ending to my PR phase. I am glad I get to relive those years thanks to people like you.
That one was really cool. It was huge, but it had to be in order for it to be able to transport the other zords inside it. We had never actually had a megazord like it before, but for what it was, I thought it was pretty neat
I actually read online the yellow mech/zord is a Hazmat vehicle. But more so for hazardous areas the yellow Ranger could move obstacles in and out of if needed. Kind of why it’s build like a tank with large Treaded wheels and a claw/shovel arm.
I think the Rescue Megazord/Victory Robo is some of the best main Megazords/Mechas in the series! :D I love the way the Rescue Zords/99 Machines function, having an extra mode, as well as the Lightspeed Megazord itself having a very cool, and unique design when fully merged! I mean, it's of course not perfect. It is admittedly annoying that every time you extend the Pyro Rescue 1 Zord's/Red Ladder's arms you have to also push the hands back just enough where they don't go back inside which is why I recommend that you focus on each arm individually as opposed to both at the same time as well as holding each arms with both hands so you can hold said arm steady with 1 hand while carefully pushing the hand deep enough where it's not pushed back inside with the other. Additionally it also sucks that the connection for PR1 to Aqua Rescue 2 Zord/Blue Thrower isn't the strongest as it can come loose pretty easily. I think since the Lightspeed Rescue symbol on PR1 can rotate just like in the show, it can go a step further by adding additional pins, or something to secure the 2 Zords much better, and not just be there for decoration. I really do wish that all the die-cast was kept from the original Victory Robo, along with the rubber wheels, though I'm kinda okay with the latter being replaced with plastic, so it wouldn't break as easily. And I also wish that the sword itself, Braver Sword in GoGoV, was painted like it was in the show instead of just being gold plastic. That, and maybe it could be a tad bigger, but that's okay. Otherwise, I think it's a fantastic Megazord! :)
Again great job. I too love the fact the Lightspeed team was a man mad Power Ranger group complete with a whole under water headquarters for a base. Back in the day it gave me a sense of pride knowing we as humans made our own Megazord and I also loved the more realistic transformation into Megazord mode. This is actually why I loved the anime Dai-Guard which I highly recommend. Being a huge fan of the Thunderbirds also is another reason why I love Lightspeed Rescue as well.
As far as the USA PR toys, this is one of the best megazords. I bought mine new in 2000 and had it for 22 years before selling it, but it was awesome. I made a stop motion transformation of this megazord too!
I remember my cousin having the Lightspeed Megazord when I was young....super young. It was really cool. And Lightspeed Rescue was also really awesome. Back then the ranger powers and the zords were mystical so to see the both the ranger suits and the zords as man made(Or to be more specifically government made) instead is honestly a fresh cool idea(Go watch disneybrain's video analysis on Lightspeed Rescue because that show has so much to discuse). Also the japanese source material Rescue Sentai GoGoV is also pretty fun as well. I also love how grounded the whole show felt. It's pretty cool that the zord names were taken straight from the sentai counterpart GoGoV. As silly as it is I even like the Hydro mode for the megazord. Mostly gecause it reminds me of the ATSTs from Star Wars. I'm kind of curious to know how did they managed to pull that effect.
i heard flametoys is in the process of taking the classic dino megazord. hope they will have a prototype soo to show . i hope too that threezero will be able to comeup with a dino megazord well they have the ranger on preorder.
Another issue this zord suffers on in the Japanese version is that the rubber tires are likely to be deteriorated by now, almost all of them on mine are ripped in one spot or another, probably due to age. I wish more people could create custom reproduction parts to better repair these aging toys
it is weird they did not make a zord that was for water rescues (boat, submarine, etc), specially considering their main base was under water. They could have used that instead of the pink/yellow boring zords
Well the original Japanese show Lightspeed-Rescue is based on featured 2 variations of firefighters. The red Ranger was a ladder rescue High-rise fighter while the blue was an actual fire fighter who used large water tank trucks in his service. Sort of an odd take. So the blue aqua zord actually made a lot of sense.
So I’ve been watching your videos as a way to go down memory lane, I kinda aged out of Power Rangers by the time rescue came around. Fast forward to modern day me and I’m a fire fighter and Haz is probably a play on Hazmat which is short for hazardous materials which is we call call hazmat! So yeah fun fact.
This Lightspeed Megazord from USA 2000-2001 aka Biktori Robo from Japan 1999-2000 is my #1 Favorite Rescue Theme and Vehicle Theme Megazord also my #1 Favorite Megazord in 2000s Decade, but #2 Favorite Megazord overall after USA 1993-1994 Dino Megazord aka Daijujin from Japan 1992-1993 that's been forever my #1 Favorite Dinosaur Theme Megazord and also my #1 Favorite Megazord in 1990s Decade and overall. My #1 Favorite Animal Theme Megazord is USA 1999-2000 Galaxy Megazord from Power Rangers Lost Galaxy aka Gingaioh from Japan 1998-1999 Seiju Sentai Gingaman. My Top 3 1990s Megazord or Sentai Robots below: 1. Daijujin (Japan 1992-1993) 2. Biktori Robo (Japan 1999-2000) 3. Gingaio (Japan 1998-1999)
Mini pla.. the dx is so static and if you decide to get the grand liner and Max shuttle mini pla they are also way more detailed and possible with grand liner being the same size as your average dx figure and not as oversized as it’s dx counter part
With the clips, I would just solve it how you would normally solve a problem where the clips could potentially break. Apply equal force to both the red and blue rescue zords, in this case.
I really hope the Light Speed rescue line can get a chogokin line treatment because those Mecha would get their complete justice. Always wanted the complete set. I only had the super train and solar zord lol 😂😂
Wow seeing those lightspeed action figures and weapons unlocked the most hidden childhood memories and just blew my head off 😅 freaking loved those things. Do you still have them? If so I'd love to see a review of them and the weapons!
@@necromancer3000 if you mean the ratchet part, sure, you need to take apart the arm. You can have an idea of how to do that if you watch his solarzord video th-cam.com/video/hdyKQFqTDBE/w-d-xo.html
Nice review. The ratcheting arms are prone to malfunctions due to a thin, rectangular, translucent-red piece breaking after many rotations. You can open the upper arms and remove that piece to glue back together, but a better solution is for someone to make a stronger repro part.
Are you a model builder? Because the Super Minipla are all great aside from the Shogun Megazord which has a few QC issues, but all the other ones transform identically to the zords from their respective original Deluxe releases, and they have more articulation than the original toys I highly recommend them. My most recent one was Victory Robo/Lightspeed Megazord and Liner Boy/Max Solarzord as a set and it is a great toy and fun build
Just preordered the smp re issue of victory robo, liner boy, and grand liner super stoked to have them next to the gao ranger smps probably my peak time watching power rangers
Will you be looking at the Supertrain and Solarzord later? I hear I'm a weirdo in that I actually prefer the Lightspeed Solarzord to the Supertrain Megazord, probably in no small part to how suspenseful that little arc of Lightspeed Rescue was... for both parties, surprisingly. Not only did the cobra tattoo take Ryan, far and away the most powerful ranger of the team, off the table when the rest of the rangers needed him most, but Diaboloco was also under extreme pressure from Bansheera to do something about the rangers, despite that Diaboloco had just lost the last of his monsters. Typically in Good vs Evil narratives, the villains has all the narrative agency and force behind them, forcing the good guys to be perpetually reactive. Rarely do you see both the good guys and the bad guys equally in do-or-die tension, forcing both sides to pull out all the stops and show what they're really made of. I also loved the little touch of the Lightspeed Solarzord absorbing and redirecting Diaboloco's *star* power with its *solar* panels. It made it seem like Diaboloco wasn't arbitrarily overpowered by the new toy, which would be lame, but that Diaboloco attacked without thinking in sheer desperation and paid for it. In a way, it was his fear of Bansheera (or more thematically the self-destructive nature of evil) that really beat him.
I love this! And of course, supertrain and solarzord will be my next two retro reviews. I actually agree, always liked lightspeed solarzord the most of the whole season. But supertrain is epic. Love your point about Diabolico too.
Funny enough 2 of those issues listed happened with mine way back when. Don't remember if it was the left arm specifically but one of the arms did lose all ratcheting so could not hold up at all, especially in solarzord combination. And then later the clip that held the whole arm assembly to the outward hinge joint just broke off so the arm would not stay on anymore.
I have two of each zord for this series. Ones I already owned, and others, sadly for parts or swap out better quality ones. Both my Pyro Rescue 1 vehicles have both broken joints that rotate the arms up and down. Second, 1 Pyro Rescue zord, has the broken joint that rotates the arms for it's transformation.. I bought Rescue Zords 1-4 from Japan for $70 vs getting another Pyro Rescue Zord for $65...nuts...it sucks having extra Zords just for parts and difficult to recondition and sell it for a reasonable price or something...
I wonder how hard it would be to just 3D print that part that keeps breaking on the red zord with a sturdier plastic.. N maybe even add something for those two round pegs to peg into for more stability... I'd try it if I had a 3D printer
Kinda interesting thought couldn't someone 3d print a new set of clips for pyro rescue 1 so you could just with print/or purchase a replacement set of clips
Can someone tell if they had larger versions of these? I had the red one as a kid but it was bigger and had a cockpit that fit a 5in red ranger figure. Can't find a video for it.
@@powerrangertube All I could remember was that it's was bigger and had a figure. Would be cool if they did a larger scale megazord that could fit figures. I found the Zord on eBay, but no reviews on TH-cam so far.
16:53 what do you mean, is the turbo recue megazord better than the light speed megazord or the light speed rescue megazord is much better than the turbo rescue megazord ?
Turbo Rescue Megazord does more, is taller, and doesn't seem to suffer as many breakages. But Lightspeed Megazord has a really great combination later on. So it's swings and roundabouts for what you prefer. I prefer Lightspeed even though I know it's technically inferior to Turbo Rescue - but the LSR season overall - story and zordline - saves it.
0:08 I mean most seasons have those generic names, for example, zeo megazord or super zeo megazord, turbo megazord and turbo rescue megazord, lost galaxy megazord, time force megazord and wild force megazord, so it's not the only one with generic names 😂
I thought it was explained in episodes 1 and 2 that a lot of their stuff came from salvage zord parts of the turbo zords there's no power rangers or no alpha or no zordon or no demetria to clean up the mess that time around
Interesting, I don't remember this? But it makes sense canonically, a lot of broken Turbo zord parts would've been abandoned by the team when they left for space
10:13 dunno if they're the same type of pins, but here's a video on how to remove capped pins in case that's what's holding the shoulder in: th-cam.com/video/oo8FLxTtTJ4/w-d-xo.html requires a soldering iron and high-powered magnet with 50lbs of pull force to melt the plastic holding the pin in place and pull it out once it's loose.
I don't know what it is about it, but the Lightspeed Megazord is just one of my favorite Megazord designs, even without the other Zords. I actually didn't care for Super Train Megazord for a while (though I do like it now). Sadly, I missed on the Super Minipla, and the only affordable ones are the Black versions. Strangely, even the Super Train Minipla is cheaper than the Lightspeed sometimes. Also, I've wondered if maybe the small size could be attributed to it being the first totally man-made Megazord, as all the others have some sort of mystical origin that I remember. I'm sure there's no actual evidence or intention to it, but I do kind of like the idea of the first man-made Megazord being a pretty small one, then the Super Train being of average or somewhat large size compared to most.
It's the Leg-azord! :D
Honestly out of any Megazord, I want this to get a Soul of Chogokin figure. I just think it would be so good

Finally
Goes together fast
I've been putting off buying this megazord but I think I might buy this now if the review is good
Were you convinced?
Yeah I always thought it looked a bit off in photos plus I got the solormax already so why not
I wonder how hard it would be to just 3D print that part that keeps breaking on the red zord with a sturdier plastic..
Yes there were playable vehicles scaled for action figures but only of red and green and they obviously weren't designed to combine
@@powerrangertube All I could remember was that it's was bigger and had a figure.
Would be cool if they did a larger scale megazord that could fit figures.
I found the Zord on eBay, but no reviews on TH-cam so far.
you sure haz isn't short for hazmat aka hazardous material?
16:53 what do you mean, is the turbo recue megazord better than the light speed megazord or the light speed rescue megazord is much better than the turbo rescue megazord ?
Turbo Rescue Megazord does more, is taller, and doesn't seem to suffer as many breakages. But Lightspeed Megazord has a really great combination later on. So it's swings and roundabouts for what you prefer. I prefer Lightspeed even though I know it's technically inferior to Turbo Rescue - but the LSR season overall - story and zordline - saves it.
@@powerrangertube ohhh thanks for clearing that😁
Where do you get your figures from?
i got the Japanese version and its great but i recast the braver sword and the water cannons because i got it loose
Lightspeed Rescue was so good, the villains were really compelling.
The arm thing could be a loose screw and if the clips are so common maybe there is someone selling a 3d printed part as replacement
You can fixed pretty easily and doesn’t need to expend any penny.

dunno if they're the same type of pins, but here's a video on how to remove capped pins in case that's what's holding the shoulder in: th-cam.com/video/oo8FLxTtTJ4/w-d-xo.html
requires a soldering iron and high-powered magnet with 50lbs of pull force to melt the plastic holding the pin in place and pull it out once it's loose.
Where can I find megazords?
I wonder if this Zord uses high octane fuel
Could you review the minipla version of the Lightspeed Megazord?
Ah sorry I don't have any mini pla
The signal is calling, our planet is falling just a preview
The danger will test you, better make it Lightspeed Rescue
We have two thunder megazords one in mmpr and another in ninja storm
2:32 you're just going to flex your finger dexterity on us like that like were just suppose to sit here and take it
This is Megazords like a Zeo Megazord formacion
But at least the legs actually do something to transform :D
When somebody can create a 3d printed clips
Haz Rescue 4 is a Haz-Mat truck.
Please Could you possibly soon do a lighting collection update / review of this years releases? If y0ur still collecting
I have pretty much everything, I just got bored of talking about them 😂 I am planning a video about some of them soon though
@@powerrangertube thats great, i am missing many white green etc etc one day hopefully.

Question, does anybody know how to make the nether world portal in Minecraft? I tried making it and failed.
