Until when he still using pecs? Is he need to talk too? Not just talk by pecs? If pecs just make sure the child understood what they want by pecs but they should talk too?
They will encourage the boy to learn speech and language to communicate better when using PECS. PECS help the boy to expand vocabulary and sentence construction.
When he shows you the pictures, you should read them out to him and encourage them to do so. But encourage gradually, slowly. Don't rush it, especially if they show signs of rejection. Cuz you know that your objective is to help them develop language and speech.
