I honestly feel like the red hood or Jason Todd needs more credit in the movies. I feel like he has such a great and interesting backstory that goes to waste because we never see him on television or movies. And he is charming, and confident and when you look at all the horrible things that go on in Gotham it is hard not to agree with someone who says "Screw it! It is all just one big joke, so lets just burn it all down say to hell with it all!" because at times he is right. But while couples think it is cute to dress like Joker and Harley and pretend like they are the best couple ever... to be a real fan you need to appreciate that Joker ISN'T some revolutionary looking out to bring down the rich and help the poor. He is a psychopath who took a kid who was homeless and lured him into a trap by using the Mother who orphaned him as bate, giving this orphan boy false hope that he might get some answers and maybe even have his mother in his life for the very first time... only to then take it away, bludgeon the kid with a crowbar in front of his own mother and then he kills them both. All because Jason Todd was taking up time from Batman that Joker felt belonged to him, he didn't like Batman having a sidekick and he wanted to prove that not even Batman's little pet projects (aka Robin) were safe from him. To the Joker, Batman should only have eyes for him and Robin was just a annoyance to be taken out. And he takes him out in the worst possible way. Giving him hope and taking it away, torturing him by beating him slowly and then getting one more jab in by locking the door so even if Robin had reached it he would never of gotten out. Joker does all of this, not because Gotham is poor and full of corrupt people with money and poor people desperate to do anything for a little cash... he does this just to get at Batman personally, feeding into a fetish he has. What I am getting at is you are not a real Joker fan if you just blindly love what he does without also seeing the flaws. Joker isn't some kind of hero that should be looked up to all the time, or even most of the time. Couples like to dress up as Joker and Harley and they think it is cute, and honestly I've been guilty of it on Halloween before too, but the truth is Joker physically abuses Harley. And he mentally manipulates her. And he uses honest brain washing techniques such as depriving her of any and all things that do not fit his needs, distancing herself from her old self while instilling traits and qualities into her that are beneficial to his requirements of her, he rewards her when she obeys him and punishes her when she doesn't. He uses her love for him to get her to prove herself by doing criminal acts. Even murdering people or assisting in his murdering of them. And this is suppose to be the woman he loves, what all Hot Topic and Emo Couples look up to... he also beat an Orphan to death just because he was getting too chummy with Batman and he also crippled, strip naked and take pictures of a young woman who was the daughter of a man who he would then go on to also strip down and torture by forcing him to look at the crude images of his daughter with a bullet hole in her naked body. In short, JOKER IS NOT SOMEONE WHO SHOULD BE TREATED LIKE A HERO OR ROLE MODEL! HE IS A MONSTER!... and his story is a damn good one, and he is a very entertaining and thought provoking character who honestly deserves to have fans. But while some fans think he is the end all, be all, can do no wrong... the truth is that Joker has done things that deserve for him to be hated. And if you hate him it shows that you really understand the things has has done. Any fanboy can be won over by his charm but real fans know that Joker is an absolute monster who kills for the fun of it and the things he does should be hated. All they have to do is look to Jason Todd or Barbara Gordon for proof.
