Strategically, mushrooms can cause it to rain by releasing spores into the atmosphere---causing raindrops to form around the spores like cloud-seeding.
Amazing video - as always! These are a calming presence in what are currently chaotic times. The best part was hearing that the squirrel forest is now going to belong to the red squirrels and the other wildlife that make it their home. You've done a great thing. What you share through your videos are absolutely my favorite things to watch on TH-cam. Thank you.
I love the story about Ratatoskr. He is the squirell that runs up and down the trunk of Yggdrasil the world tree, delivering insults back and forth between the dragon Nidhögg at the bottom to the eagle Räsvälg that lives on the top. Alot of the old norse stories are pretty funny 😆
Dani. Thank you for sharing this wonderland! So sweet your buying the squirrel forest. Protecting wildlife to me is so important! God Bless you ! Dear Dani
Greetings from Västerbotten! Foraging is contemplation, meditation in its best form...and as a second you get a lot of yummy food from it! We have had two yrs of fantastic chantarelle growt and this year I have picked 30 kilos. A true blessing from Mother Earth, have been giving away a lot to friends and relatives who is not able to get out into the forest.
I've been fascinated by the Fungi Kingdom for years, so imagine my excitement when this popped up! Squirrels, mushrooms, and Dani Connor level filmography? Yes, please😍 Thank you for sharing your magical adventures with us, it always feels like I'm right there.
Thank you for bringing us viewers the Beauty of Autumn- my favourite season as well! And today it’s “wintertime” and suddenly it gets dark one hour “earlier”. I wish you well and Good Health, regards from Stockholm 😊👵🏼
Dani, your videos are wonderful and your narration is poetic. You live in an enchanted place and every time I watch your videos I wish I could live there. How wonderful that the squirrel will have their own forest! 🍄🐿❤
Thank you Dani. Your videos are like a vacation in a world that is actually always there and that we so often forget. The forest in autumn with all its colors and abundance is the most beautiful time for me. When you walk through the forest you forget time and become grounded in an incomparable way. Thank you Dani for reminding me of that. I am so happy that the squirrel forest can soon belong to the little acrobats forever. Warm greetings from Bavaria ❤
Many of us accept the rhythm of the seasons. At the begining of each we look forward to enjoying the best that season offers, and near the end of the season have had enough of it and are looking forward to the new season, which we again enjoy when it comes, tiring of it near season's end and again look forward to the next season. We obviously evolved on this planet, according to its rhythms. Of course, many just don't or can't slow down to enjoy such things.
The air is so peaceful and fresh, the forest is full of mushrooms, comfortable to harvest. Harvesting mushrooms with family is great. Thank you for sharing the beautiful photos.
I'm enjoying the Autumn here in England. It's just a park in the middle of town, but I visit it most mornings and feed the magpies and a couple of crows there. It brings me peace and starts my day in the best way!
Sometimes you need to see your country through the eye of a foreigner to appreciate what you have. This was a beautiful contemplation of our nature up here in the north.
Recently I've been frying them in a tiny amount of oil/butter then adding a bit of water and a splash of soy and putting a lid on the pan and effectively steaming them. Somehow it makes them even tastier.
Hope you know that you can dry the funnel chanterelles. If you lay them separated on newspaper to dry, you kan put them in glas jares and storage them for a decade. Then you can crumble them as a spice or ad them whole in a stew or a soup. Or even just make a plane mushroom soup. Much love to you both, from a seasoned "mushroomer". ❤
Thank you so much Dani. That was so wonderful and beautiful to watch. I can't eat raw mushrooms but once in a while I can eat them grilled with something. There is a very popular gourmet type of mushroom that I do eat when it is stuffed but that is maybe once a year. That squirrel forest is so enchanting and beautiful and thank you so much for purchasing it. I will donate when I can. Those red squirrels and the other animals in that forest will be safe forever thanks to you.
You're just full of the good stuff in this one. My favorites: winter, mushrooms, blueberry pancakes and the majestic Red Deer. Magical video as usual, Dani. 🤗
In Lithuania mushroom and berry foraging is a national thing. When season begins newspapers are filled with hysterical reports about how many buckets of boletus someone brought from the forest, which in my opinion is not healthy (and not in the sense of health). Each year inevitably there are reports about mushroom poisoning, most victims are old village women, supposedly the best experts on mushrooms. The problem is, as they grow older, their eyesight goes down but their self-confidence only goes up.
I'm from the southern part of sweden but when I was a kid my aunt and mum, gramma and my siblings used to go foraging for mushrooms. If we were really lucky we'd find some chanterelle mushrooms. Those are really good. I don't really live close to nature in that way anymore so seeing this really brought back a flood of memories! :)
My best tips about mushrooms in Sweden are: Blodriska and Smörsopp, both grow near roads and houses, and are impossible to mistake once you´ve seen one. 2nd tip are to learn about soppar, like Karl Johan or Apelsinsopp, a lot of mushroom in one go, the bad kinds of soppar are more rare and easily learnt. Finally: Get someone knowledgeable to show how to distinguish Stolt Fjällskivling from White Amanita. Stolt Fjällskivling is a wonderful mushroom!
Mushrooms and blueberries are beautiful Gifts of the forrest. Switzerland has more mushroom collectors than mushrooms...(laughing). The place you are is so much gifted. Thanks for sharing.
Congratulations on the Squirrel Forest! What a wonderful news! Also mushroom hunting nostalgia touched my heart and I hope someday my life will make a turn back to this most favorite way to celebrate autumn. Thank you for sharing!
Cant believe how fast time has gone by ! I had in mind to get the calendar for some time now but kept forgetting. Finally I sent in the order today ! Also such great news about the forest, cant wait for more details !!!
Fantastic mushroom filming and of course your legendary relationship with your squirrels. Thank you Dani. Looking forward to the opportunity to help fund the forest.
Wow! This is another wonderful video. The footage is beautiful, and it was so nice to meet a couple of your neighbours. I hope all of them are being nice to you and Juan.
Good to have you back again, you gave us a scare mentioning surgery and the long yt absence. Hope everything is good, excited about the cf for the sq-forest. You set it up, we´ll pitch in.
🍃Autumn is a magical season here in Ontario Canada we have had very warm fall with cool nights which is very unusual. It is strange to see the trees turn their colours in 24 degrees Celsius. Halloween approaching fast to end October and usher in November the shoulder month to our winter. The squirrels here have made their winter transformation which is good too see they are all very healthy. Stunning video and I so love my calendars and I look forward to hearing more about the squirrel forest . 🍃🍂🍁
Wonderful video and education about mushrooms. I actually feel sorry for those prople that hike the woods and never take to time to appreciate what is literally at their feet.
Dear Danni, Wonderful as always! My late father tried to teach me all about mushrooms in Swedish forests, alas not to much avail. One of the most delicious mushrooms he tried to teach me about were the kremlins ("kremlor"). Do you have them in Västerbotten? Some of them are just the best mushrooms ther are, some are not really eatable. Take care and continue to enjoy your life in northern Sweden! Best regards, Johan in Malmö.
Hi Dani, that was so warming to the heart ❤ As long as i remember i have been fascinated by fungi. I made my own toadstool art work years ago & was always inspired by nature. I love this season, the colours, the cosiness, open fires crackling, stews & casseroles, crisp Autumn mornings. I love all animals, but to see the squirrels this time of year is magical. Thank you for your video 🥰👍🍂🌰🐿🍄🎃
Just to let you know you can get 10% off my calendars until the 31st October! Use code Mushroom10 🍄🐿️ www.daniconnorwild.com/shop
Can I import some mushrooms ?

Man I love mushrooms. One of my favourite things about our Swedish forests is the wealth of mushrooms you can find.
Thanks Dani. I love squirrels. They are such darling little animals♥
What an amazing video - the scenery, the protagonists (plants, animals, humans), the music, the story, the information…!!
Don't forget the mushrooms!

Thank you for presenting nature in this beautiful way!
Thanks!
Very kind Allie, thank you!
Thank you, Dani. I've no idea how you film in high definition in such low light. It's beautiful. X
I agree! It's like the BBC footage, very good. Practice makes perfect I guess.
Thanks!
Thank you for bringing us viewers the Beauty of Autumn- my favourite season as well! And today it’s “wintertime” and suddenly it gets dark one hour “earlier”. I wish you well and Good Health, regards from Stockholm 😊👵🏼
I love Squirrels and mushrooms. I think i found my new favorite YT channel. Innocent vibes 🥰
Aside from being in the same quality as the BBC documentaries, there is a spiritual nature to these videos, this girl is going to heaven for sure! 🥰
Dani, your videos are wonderful and your narration is poetic. You live in an enchanted place and every time I watch your videos I wish I could live there. How wonderful that the squirrel will have their own forest! 🍄🐿❤

also a funny story; I used to hate the funnel ones, so mum cut the pieces in the food really tiny in hopes me and my sis never noticed. x)
