podemos ver el control tiene 4 botones y primero necesitamos poner la perilla GROUND BALANCE hacia la izquirda (perilla verde) y luego prendemos la maquina, con el boton de POWER. Será posible escuchar el sonido. Despues, presionar el boton rojo en el mango y sin soltar, mover la perilla TUNE (boton azul superior izquierdo) de un lado a otro hasta encontrar un punto donde el sonido no se escuche, suelte el boton rojo. Podemos ver entonces que detecta tanto el hierro como el cobre. Si se dan cuenta, el boton pequeño que esta en la parte superior izqueirda, se encuentra en GROUND BALANCE, lo cual nos permite detectar los cuatro metales. Baje el boton a DISCRIMINATION y modifique la perilla de DISCRIMINATION (perilla amarilla) al minimo. Presione nuevamente el boton rojo del mango y sin soltar, gire la perilla de TUNE (azul izquierda superior) de derecha a iquierda hasta encontrar un punto silencioso y suelte el boton rojo. Podemos ver ahora que el hierro tiene sonido, pero el cobre no. Esto se debe a que solo ubicamos metal ferroso. Para invertir la deteccion, mueva la perilla de DISCRIMINATION (BOTON AMARILLO) al maximo, girando a la derecha. Presione el boton rojo del mango y sin soltar, manpule la perilla TUNE (azul superior izquirda) de derecha a izquierda hasta encontrar un punto en silencio. Suelte el boton rojo Podemos ver ahora que el cobre hace sonar, pero el hierro ya no.

And also, this model is cheap plastic and creaks and squeaks everytime it is swung in a half circle, detecting for stuff. This Chinese company has made much better quality detectors then this so I don't know why they keep making this cheaply-built model or at least, improve it and make it hold up better but yes, I agree with your father, it was a (very) hard machine for me to get adjusted correctly and I could never seem to get it to work totally correctly.

With the sensitivity knob at max and the ground balance balanced as well as the threshold set to right where you here a hum but not too high as this will cause it too be unstable and then it will only detect ground minerals.

Hunt at just before pull tab discrimination but for small gold nuggets, one has to hunt at just below nail rejection or use no disc. at all.

Se pone el balance de tierra hasta el minimo, se enciende el detector, se presiona el boton rojo y se gira la perilla de tono hasta que deje de sonar y ya puedes detectar...despues sigue viendo el video

What you just did, all the "old-timers" did back in the 70's to find valuable ground minerals. These old transmit/recieve detectors could find minerals by simply turning the large dial to the right or left, depending on whether you wanted to detect metal or minerals but most of them could null out iron. In other words, make this go silent. This was the beginning of discrimination on the newer detectors. By the way, these detectors here are cheap, plastic, junk and would have (never) (ever) have (never) have been made this way back in the 70's. Most were built with pride and quality and solid metal. I had one of the ones similar to what you're demonstrating here and the thing just about loosened up and fell apart. Every swing of this detector makes things loosen up and squeak because it's all been made in cheap plastic materials which is very strange considering that this (same) Chinese company has made many other detector models a lot better built and actually with metal upper and lower connecting shafts and the control housings are much more solid even though they (are) still plastic but the point is is that the other models have a type of higher quality ABS plastic for their control boxes. Much tougher. MD-1009a, one of the best MD's made and can be re-tuned to go much, much deeper and will (actually) run on just one 9-volt battery..
