It does not matter if your an average guitarist or not. If you can afford and you appreciate the feel and handle of a great instrument, just go for it. That's a rock machine that's also brilliant for jazz. A masterpiece.
Hello, could you tell what is your pickups heights when pressing on the last fret, I have one but the guy I bought it from had changed the original setting… Many thanks if you can do that !
thats exactly what I have. Being an avg guitarist, I just jumped up to the Gretsch Duo Jet! I've been holding that guitar as my high end standard for 7 years and didn't want to make the splash but I finally did a couple weeks ago. This guitar is for a rich avg guitarist. Even a Gretsch custom shop can be had for less. No way I would do justice getting this Collings.

fantastic playing and tone....stealing some riffs from this... I shouldn't be jealous but I AM......LOL ENJOY
H ah. Thanks a lot!! Have fun with the riffs. I'm pretty sure I stole bunch of them from here and there. Cheers!
Out of interest how does the body size compare to a les Paul? Looks a little bigger? But not as big as a 355?
It’s quite comparable to a Les Paul. I would say kind of feels like my 54 Les Paul but amazingly light.

Hey,
The guitar is getting serviced(string change and all that). I'll let you know once I have it back.
Pretty guitar, but I’m not going to get one unless I win the lottery.. There’a a used one for sale in Norway, asking price is $10600.
Woah! A local guitar store close to me is selling one new for ~7k. Best of luck with the lottery!
@@ashishashen Thanks 😎 I do have a Collings 290, though. So I’m doing ok.
@@TheWelhaven Nice! Those are great. I played one a while back with a pretty sweet crimson red kind of finish. Loved it. Cheers!
It IS for the average guitarist whose dad owns a thriving law office.
Yes, my dad owns a thriving law office. Wait, What?
For the average guitarist? No. That's big bucks, when you can get a Gretsch Duo Jet for a lot cheaper.

Not for the average bank account. Get serious.
