I'm currently doing a foundation year at uni and in a similar situation, don't enjoy going out and would rather be at home tbh. Also in accomodation outside the uni so don't havenice flatmates as well as my Godparents dying around a week before I started which is elongating the pain etc. here is to 1st year being better...

I want to do events management as a degree and get the same laughing reaction and people saying is that even a good degree but people dont realise how much work it would have

megan I get the same reaction everytime! when I say that I want to study event management they look at me like I'm an alien... We will prove them wrong!😆
I'm about to start events next month at uni and the amount of people who have asked what i'm going to achieve at the end of uni has been rediculous

Errrm, it's not about how much work it contains, it's about whether or not you will get a job with it. People who do that degree are not in demand, and are very unlikely to get a job.

Glad you enjoyed it. I bought it off of Tesco direct i think but it was a different brand. You should be able to find it on there still as it's pretty new X
They're laughing now but your degree has a realistic job outcome. Maths for example, however, is NOT a job.
The difference is maths can get you a variety of jobs, this cant.
Yeah but the point is they don't take it seriously because they think there isn't a real job in it or one that won't make money but there are and in reality maths is more unrealistic as maths, like I said, is not a job
+Dani L so if you turned up to a school/college applying for a maths teacher role they wouldn't take you seriously, might want to rethink that part. I can guarantee you someone with a maths degree will earn much more than this degree. Maths is used everywhere, your phone, tablets, computers (all the same really) and someone had to have been doing maths in their job to make them.
Don't be a spastic Dani, having a degree in mathematics will have many job prospects
This is the most flawed logic I have ever seen. Your degree does not equate to your job. Maths majors may go into the financial sector even though their degree is maths not finance.
Im 18 and at the moment dealing with a lot of health issues so im still doing a levels and Uni is on hold for a while. Im not a big drinker and only ever been tipsy which is mostly to do with my medical issues and im just not a big fan of it in general. I know that in todays society drinking is hugely social and a big part of Uni life, how did you deal with not drinking much? Did you find it a lot harder to make friends and were there others who also didnt drink. Sorry for so many questions ive been thinking a lot about uni and I dont know whether to just drink anyway so i fit in and have fun?xx
Hi Elena. I hope A levels are going well for you.. Don't worry at all if you aren't a big drinker. Like you know - I'm not at all. Yes i get drunk on occasions but not most weeks like guys at uni. I still went out or went to pre drinks and didnt drink. You can still have fun without drinking. I still made friends & yes they said stuff at first about being 'boring' sometimes.. but they understand! You will be absolutely fine making friends, dont worry about that XX
