  • We explore sight singing in natural minor by memorizing the sound of the novel scale degrees, identifying the stepwise differences between major and minor, and incorporating numbers as well as movable do solfege. Any questions, ask in the comments.

    Thanks very much. This confirms what I had in mind. I used to think there must be a better way, since I can sight sing so much better with C major but all the other ones I have to count the lines and spaces to covert the a b c d into 1 2 3 4. But after watching your tutorial, I learn that this IS the right way! Just have to practice to get familiar with them.

    Thanks! Instead of solfège, I use single syllable pseudo-numbers, specifically the twelve semitones : one tone two twee three four fove five fix six vex ‘ven

    Your theory videos are amazing - perhaps the most engaging music theory videos I’ve seen on TH-cam! Any chance you could tell us what software you use to put them together?

    somehow minor singing from la, do or la which is best for guitar, thank you!!!

    Why you didn't start the minor scale with 'la'?

    • @SaherGalt
      @SaherGalt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Starting major and minor both from the same 'do' allows us to easily spot the differences between the two tonalities. Also important to reinforce the tonic as 'do' in your mind. But you can definitely also sing natural minor relative to major, as you say, using the major solfege and starting from 'la'.

      " @SaherGalt To me it is so much easier to start with "la". This give me one less of mind twist almost like learning another new language. I like your lessons. Very helpful. Not quite enough for the real world singing.
