    I applaud your courage for sharing! You may have just saved someone else from getting seriously injured, or worse. I learn more from watching "Things not to do" or "Things that could happen" than I do from accident free videos. Sincerely glad you were not injured!

    Also do remember to pull out the drill a bit more often to clear waste.

    I've had the exact same mishap, no damage or injuries other than a very slight scrape on a finger and a destroyed brad point drill bit

    My HF lathe does the same thing. The tail stock slips all the time. Very frustrating.

    That happened to me but the chuck hit me square in the chest. I was lucky that it hit me sideways. If it had be the drill bit or MT end it could have been a ride in an ambulance.

    Oh yeah - That could of been a real bad day. I almost had that happen to me as well, I always hold the chuck now.
