Hey, we got Bacardi as she was 8 weeks old..
Our luna was there I guess 4 months old as they met. Luna is now 8 months old and Bacardi (now 5 months) still want to suck on her breasts.. i think it is pretty weird and strange but I guess Luna took over the mom part for Bacardi (because of lunas breed she was with 5 months aready as big as a regular cat.)
Can you tell me if this is even normal or is she traumatized cuz we got her so young? She was already the last one left and got a bad relationship with her mother so we decided to took her instantly on the next day as a friend asked us if we need companion for luna and told us the situation.

I invite mine, too. I call her until she gets into bed with me, now that she has her own bed for during the day.
Before that, when we shared one bed, she would get into bed first and call me to get into the bed with her.
She likes to get into bed and snuggle between me and my phone as I play online games, and she faces the screen like she is watching it too. I like this position because it's great for cuddling her. Otherwise she spoons me with her bum towards my face. I like every part of her, but I prefer her face close to mine ;) LOL

On our first evening together, when he was still small enough to fit in the palm of my hand, my cat climbed in bed with me, situated himself on my shoulder, and then proceeded to direct the placement of my head with his paws. When my head was precisely where he wanted it, he tucked himself under my chin and immediately fell asleep. I was worried about his safety, but I don't move very much when I sleep, and I thought it best to trust his judgment. More than nine years later, he sleeps on my chest most nights, his head tucked under my chin, just as he did then.

Yes I am blessed, my cat let's me sleep with him on his queen size bed. He also let's me live in his apartment and I have the privilege of feeding him and scooping his poops. I'm a lucky guy ☺.

My cat recently developed a tumor in her jaw and has stopped sleeping with me. She is in her final days so i put a blanket on the floor and came to her. She has never purred so much.

Cats purr to help themselves get through pain
I had my cat since I was 5 and she just passed away from brain cancer a couple of months ago, I had her for 15 years and she would always curl around my head. I would tell her I’m going to bed and she would run up the stairs to my room, if I didn’t immediately follow her she would come back down and look at me till I followed her. She helped me through a lot. Rest In Peace tux ❤️

Yes. My little guy just has to sleep with momma, even though daddy would rather it be him. He sleeps behind my knees and if I have to move I have to ensure he’s still touching me somehow. God help me if I need to go to the bathroom because I’m like Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible, slowwwwly sliding out of the blankets and then back in when I return, very stealthily so as to not disturb the little prince.

My cat HAS to have her paw touching me at all times when she sleeps with me. I think when she does this she feels she is healing me. I have severe RA and there is a theory that cats purr when resting to keep their joints healthy, so, maybe she thinks this helps my joints. It certainly helps my blood pressure as it is just so relaxing when she does this. I almost can't sleep without her 💜
Sugar Creek my Calico cat female & I practice meditation ....she puts her little head while in an altered state of deep consciousness plus her little paws! Totally at peace in sync w the rhym of my own breathing after awhile ..my quiet chants stop I fall asleep w her.

I always thought they did that kind of like a security blanket little kid type of thing. If they can touch you it gives them a sense of security that you're still there and near them. Sometimes I'll put my hand down in front of my chest when I'm beginning to fall asleep on my side and my cat will rest her paw on top of my hand. I think it makes us both feel a special bond.
There is a theory about a cat's purr being at just the right frequency to help their bones heal if broken. I believe it. They're also very sensitive to our needs. My cats always comfort me. Where would we be without our babies?!
I’m in my 20s, and I’ve always had sleep issues. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been plagued with constant dreams (often multiple a night). Sometimes they’re too much and I wake up extremely upset. Last year, I adopted a 13 year old kitty and had her for 7 months before cancer took her. She would sleep with me almost every night. It was the best sleep I had in decades. I didn’t realize how acutely aware she was of my sleep issues until I had one of my really bad wake-ups. Immediately my sobbing face was assaulted by soft cat love as she nuzzled and pawed me incessantly in an attempt to help out. I’ll never forget it. I’ll always miss Abby.
CallMeCarmen My cat wakes me up if I have a nightmare. Sometimes when i wake up she is staring at my face very intently...but if it's a nightmare she actually wakes my up by patting my face with her paws.

LOL - mine too. She knows the bedtime routine and if 'm not in bed by a certain time, she'll act like a spaz until I climb into bed. She settles down pretty quickly after that.

I don't think he is scared of you anymore. Cats are independant creatures, so they prefer their own company. My cats have their time when they want my love and attention. Other than that, they act like reluctant teenagers when you want to cuddle lol
I sprained my knee pretty badly today and my cat sniffed around and later down purring right on my bad knee. It honestly meant the world to me and I just felt that she knew what I needed. Whenever I have been upset or hurt she does little things like this. Cats are a true blessing bruh.
I grew up with dogs and thought I hated cats. Until I found a kitten in the garage and decided to “nurse him back to health”. Omg... I am so in LOVE with this wonderful, amazing, purring, rolling, pawing, licking, curious, timid, brave, crouching, jumping, running, climbing, scratching, head-butting, incessantly meowing ball of Adorableness!! alyxskyler It’s a mystery actually. We live in a neighborhood in Las Vegas and haven’t seen any cats or kittens before or since - maybe due to coyotes or illness? He had ringworm when we found him so it took a while to cure it. Worth it, though bc we’re SO in love! 😍

I have a Turkish angora. I used to let her sleep with me, but now i no longer allow it. I got tired of sleeping in a quilt of her fur. Daily brushing wasn't enough. Only slightly prolonged the quilt. Sucks cause I miss sleeping with her terribly. But I hate sleeping in her quilt more.

I used to sleep in a spoon position with my old cat. Every night when I went to bed he would come with me, I would lift the sheets for him to go underneeth and he would sleep right next to me.
We adopted a 2-3 yr old cat from the local shelter a couple months ago. She comes in every night between 3 and 4am and will wake me to let her under the sheet. As soon as I lift it, she crawls in and stretches out with her back against my chest and stomach. Sleeps there peacefully until morning when i get up.

Candy Re I miss my calico cat too. She died three years ago in May. She was wonderful, more like a best friend than than a pet. Several months after she died a stray mother cat showed up with eight kittens in tow. We caught three of the kittens and kept two. We managed to live trap the mother cat and get her spayed later that year (and after she had ANOTHER crop of kittens on our patio). The second crop of kittens were trapped, fixed, and fortunately taken in by a local shelter for socialization and adoption. The mom was very aggressive and fierce and as much as we wanted to, we couldn’t just take her in as such. She disappeared after we released her, but reappeared about three months later. She was still skittish but we slowly built up mutual trust and eventually we could pet her. Feeding her helped a lot in building trust. All the shelters were packed with homeless cats and kittens and she would not have been adopted out as a semi-feral after she was spayed, so we just released her back into our neighborhood all the while hoping we could tame her. She’s now a cuddle monster and living inside with us. She has a forever home now. The two kittens we took in from the first liter are inseparable and we call them the Chaos Kittens. They have a forever home with us too. 😺

My cat, 'Frat', loves sleeping with me and insists on getting under the cover to stretch out and press against me. We'll stay that way for a while, until I get too hot. He's a funny boy and since losing my husband this past Spring, he's been a lot of company.
So sorry for your loss. I lost my husband 5 years ago and my son 2-1/2 years ago. My cats have kept me alive. They are my saving grace. I would not be here without them in my life to comfort me.
My husband is now in care with dementia, so my lovely pussy-cat is my companion and bed fellow. He’s a real life saver.

There is a cat at your local shelter who would love you and your hospitality. They are waiting. All the cats in my life were rescues from shelters or strays who came to love us by trust and food. Warmth inside didn’t hurt either.
My current cat is a beautiful, adult, all black male cat. His name? Licorice.
Tigerman1138 my cat is fromna shelter too, he never had a cat mother, he was raised by bottle and I got him when he was 6 weeks old. He was just a raw hand full of fluff. Maybe that is the reason why our boundary is so strong!

My cat Jazzy passed away last October. A month later my next door neighbor passed on. I ended up taking her kitten in.
The same goes for pet parents who lose a beloved dog, as I did in the last year. I felt disloyal getting another dog right away but since I already volunteer with a rescue I knew they needed fosters during “kitten season,” though in the end I fostered a senior kitty with medical needs. A short 9 months later and we’ve become official foster failures. S even if you don’t feel ready to adopt another lifelong furry friend, fostering such a wonderful way to enjoy them, help them and honor your pet’s memory at the same time. We had never had a cat in our family so our foster cats were our first full time kitty experience. We placed all but our first distinguished gentleman and we decided it was best for him to call our house home for good. Now, we’re cat people😆 And in the process of adopting 2 dogs, lol
I've had my cat for 11 years. I'm 19. She has slept with me every single night I'm home. When I rode the bus, she would wait at the window for me and then meet me at the door. Good thing she's in perfect health, cause when she finally leaves me, I will have such a hard time sleeping at night.

I had my cat for 16 years. He just passed on July 22nd and I'm devastated. However, I know that he had the best kitty life that a cat can have and he knew that he was loved til the end. It's still hard coming into the house and him not greeting me with a loud meow but his memory lives on.
I’ve had several cats before but my cat cherry is about 12 years old, I’ve had her since I was 2 or 3 but she dislikes being cuddled. My other cat Remi is 8 years old and I’ve had him since I was 6 years old and he always sleeps beside me on the bed or on my pillow. He’s so affectionate and I completely get what you mean ❤️

A Cat's purr can also have healing effects so if you're feeling pain(physical or emotional) it can help with that too.
physically the healing effect has not been scientifically proven, not even healing for the cat themselves, let along us humans built in different ways. However, emotional pain is SO much easier to bear when having a cat by your side. Or on you, in bed.

Chris M actually if they lay on your body it is beneficial to pain. It’s deep pressure therapy and it steadies blood flow and makes it so that your body relaxes instead of tenses. I trained my cat to do it when my back hurts and now I can get him to lay on my back whenever I need it.

The cat can engage in deep pressure therapy (especially if it’s big and fat) and that has been scientifically proven to help with physical health conditions and pain. I know from first hand experience that when my cat does deep pressure therapy it relaxes my muscles and makes the pain from the muscle tension go away. Kinda like a furry creature as a weighted blanket

I have even got up a night and gone and got her just so I can get my sleep lol but most nights as soon as I snuggle down she's jumps up and meaws until I lift the covers.

There was a cat in my neighborhood and one day when my basset hound was outside for his mid day nap. Mr. Mittens decided to sleep on this strange fluffy bed that breaths. Then Rufus woke up to look at the unknown napping buddy and Mittens was so shock he froze like a statue... Rufus licked him and then proceeded to close his eyes and go right back to sleep.

My little Button was found in a trash can by a little boy. I took her home when she was 2 weeks old and she became the best friend I ever had. SHe lived to be 19 y.o. and every night for those 19 yrs she slept on my pillow at night. She was my best friend and we took care of each other ALWAYS. RIP Button, you were the best!

Ok, you guys are gonna laugh at me, matter of fact a couple broads ridiculed me, on the internet here however, in 2016, Sunday, October 27th a little kitten came on my back porch. Didn't know he was a he until much later, and he never grew very much bigger that what he was since being a kitten, called him Kit Kat, because Kit Kat candy bars are my favorite candy bars. Followed me everywhare, was my best friend. This June, I let him off the back porch to go to the bathroom, even though there was a litter box for him, and never saw him since. Broken hearted loosing him, he loved me, slept in my bed at my feet, and in the morning, greeted me going on my night stsnd, rubbing the side of his face into mine. He was a nice little feller, miss him very, very much.

Maia I do my daughter cat is a Siamese. She's attached to my daughter. But mine is a male and he is stripped so his name is tiger. He is very attached to me. Like last week I pulled a muscle in my back it was from a recent injury. And I had to lay on my stomach for two days cause I couldn't get up and move around just to the bathroom. He laid on my back the whole time. If I needed to get up to go to the bathroom he move. And the would follow me to the bathroom and back to bed. He's a blessing from God I believe. I have never in my 35 years seen a cat so attached to anyone like he is to me.

I've ALWAYS known that my bedroom is not actually mine. My cat ALLOWS me to sleep on HER bed, She will actually chase other cats away or growl and hiss if another one tries to cuddle with me. Growing up I had a cat. Once he was a couple yrs old we found a kitten in a bush and ended up keeping him. My cat loved him... until bedtime. As soon as I went from sitting in my bed on my laptop to laying down and going to sleep, the kitten had to get off of me. He could be touching me, but not on my chest where he preferred to cuddle.

I've had my cat ever since I was born, and she sits at the dinner table with us almost every night. She always sits next to me, probably because our table has a bench and 4 chairs and I sit on the bench, which has the most room. I have sort of taught her how to meow on command, but it only works if she's in the mood. She loves sleeping on our heating pad, so it has officially become hers. When she wants affection from me and I start petting her, sometimes she starts circling around me and rubbing her face on me as I sit down on the floor and watch her be adorable.
Oh, they're never uninvited LOL I tend to actually carry my tortie girl in with me, cus she's my snuggle lover. I've always just assumed it's because I'm warm & she enjoys my company

Mine's an outdoors cat, so I relate. He sleeps all day, leaves the house to hunt and comes back with mice and stuff which he plays and often kills in the kitchen. Its only when I sleep in that I can ever find my little hunter in bed with me.
We live in the countryside, so there isn't any chance of him being mistaken for a homeless cat. There simply aren't any here.

♥️So very neat, & something I can certainly relate to. My beloved Czar is now in kitty heaven but he too was pretty incredible in that regard. Several years after adopting him I became very ill & my life became overrun with hospital stays, medical supplies & equipment, & more. When first put on home IVs 20+hrs daily I actually worried that I might even have to find him a new home b/c I feared that moving IV tubing, wiring, etc would look too much like enticing cat toys, but while I was initially very cautious - draping blankets over everything, etc - somehow it was never an issue at AT ALL. He also learned amazing quickly to the fact that due to multiple abdominal surgeries & related pain, tubing, etc, his once beloved spot draped across my chest & abdomen was simply no longer an option. And then most remarkable of all, he once went & woke a family member when I had a medical crisis in the middle of the night that required emergent care & was unable to call for help; apparently he persistently scratched on the firmly closed door of the only other people in the house until they responded & then, despite initially being scolded, kept coming back until they followed him to me. Without medical intervention I likely would not have made it until morning - within an hour I was on needing life support measures in ICU - so there’s a good chance his instincts & perseverance that night saved my life.
I’m an animal lover through & through & no doubt I love my two current kitties very much but Czar was indeed an uniquely amazing animal & will always hold an extra special place in my heart.♥️

The first night I brought home my kitten, it was bedtime so my husband and I went to lay down. Within 2 minutes you could hear the cat crying for us so we called him in (the door was already open). The next morning I woke up to the kitten laying directly next to me with his head under my pillow. He sleeps like this every night now

I had a cat that lived to be 23 years old. When she was 8 years old she got attacked by a family friends cat and we believe that either she was not sedated enough and woke up during the middle of surgery to sew up her stomach and her tail and she was never the same since. She used to be outgoing and climb all over the place but after the surgery she would hide in the closet all day but when she heard me going to bed and waited until I settled in she would come out of the closet and climb up on the bed and sleep right next to my pillow! I was so glad I could give her some kind of comfort in her anxiety filled life.

My room also has the chimney breast in it too so he loves the warmth even when I’m not there. Every morning without fail he will find a little entrance to my duvet and crawl under and snuggle between my arms to get closer 🥰

I love that I have a king-sized bed. I sleep alone, just me and my Prince of a (rescued) cat Benny, and I think if I hadn't have had a king-sized bed, because of my cat, I would have got one!

CoralBeauty1100 I'm not too sure what her breed is. She came from my local humane society but she looks like a lynx point Siamese. She is pretty petite as well. Has short legs, not like a munchkin but shorter than other cats.

I move alot when i sleep, and our lil 1 year old tuxido makes his rounds most nights, we all have to keep our doors open a bit or he gos nutts franticly meawing or litteraly climbing the walls so we all leave our doors open, he mostly sleeps in my fathers room downstars, but sometimes he ends up in mine and he always ends up in the middle splayed on his back or side compleatly streched out against my leg/s so then i end up not moveing cuse i dont wanna squish him.
And if i do wiggle to much/try to move him over even a few cm he gets ticked yells at me and or glues himself right back
We have the most soothing sleep when a cat sleeps with us. I loved a black male cat for 14 years so much that, when he died of my guilt, I went into depression for two years and I thought I would never recover myself. I'm suffering too from Gigel but I came out of depression. Now I have more cats, beautiful and smart, each has its own personality, I love them a lot. Love your cats and take care of them!

I actually have 5 kittens and night is a pain sometimes. Some want to play and some want to sleep, but no matter what it is, they have to be in my bed next to me. It's like sleeping with Freddy Kruger in the bed.

Trim those nails often. Start young and they get good about it. My 6 take about 15 minutes to do all their nails. Though a can of food lures them all in and I sneak attack them, Then they get their treat and praises.

My cat, Jack the cat Mckitty, was a rescued by myself when he was around 3yrs old. He was shy for so many years. Now he's 14 and never leaves my side. He talks to me, comforts me and we've become the very best of friends. He still comes home with a dead mouse or bird for me now and then, he looks after me well ❤️
I've got two rescue litter tabbies and it's pretty hilarious how they fight over my lap. They are big boys so sometimes I can't feel my my legs when I'm watching TV if they both get on me.

Me too Pandora I was bullied alot and my cat helped me do through those days and brought happiness back to me there were times when I was down and didn't have that feeling of enjoyment from the things I used to enjoy and my cat made me feel whole again in those times and helped me a lot by simply being with me when I was at my worst by kneading on me and sleeping at my lap by butting heads on me and rolling on my lap, that feeling wasn't something I could describe by words it was something else even helped me cope with ostracizm

I miss my old childhood cats, I had 3. One would chew on my hair on my left side and purr and lay on my arm and I'd hug him. My other boy would occasionally lay between my legs or on my chest and my girl would always want to go under the covers and lay next to me. My cat now very rarely sleeps with me though I still love her and it makes the times she does choose to sleep with me very special. Give your cats lots of love!

I sleep with at least 6 cats easily every night. I have lots of indoor cats and its wonderful going to sleep with a cat purring in your ear. Im 62 yeas old and my blood pressure is great. It is a proven medical fact that purring lowers your blood pressure. So enjoy your feline friends in your bed!! =^..^=

I suffer from chronic pain and depression/anxiety. Having Bella around soothes me a lot. She will turn up her purr and snuggle with me for a little bit, which speaks volumes. She’s pretty independent and doesn’t like to be held but rather wants to jump up there on her own.

I truly believe that animals are the best therapy. I also have chronic pain depression and anxiety. I was brought up always having cats, so when I tried and tried and failed to have a baby I decided it was definitely time to get a kitten from my local shelter. She is a Russian blue, is now almost 4 yrs old and is also called Bella!!!!!! As a kitten, she would sleep on my pillow, using my neck as a pillow! She really helped me heal from not being able to have children. 1 year after getting Bella I decided to adopt another kitten. So I also have a little boy called Niko, who is a very fluffy blue tabby. I love my fur babies and they help me daily through my depression and other issues. I couldn't be without a cat now. We are all lucky to have our own Bellas and other fur babies in our lives. Hugs to all of you (and your babies) who are in a similar situation to me.
