Thank you for taking time to make this video on the exact sprayer I just purchased. Of all the other videos i have seen on this sprayer, you are the first to mention to put Teflon on connections. I was thinking the same thing when I was assembling the unit.
Cool video. Cant beat the price for the machine for a homeowner for sure. Graco tips fit it as well. Cheap upgrade. That line on side of spray pattern usually means need more pressure. Also rotating the tip nozzle to "clean" setting (backwards) and spraying onto cardboard will clean the tip if got a clogging issue. Most people dont fully clean the gun eithwr which leads ro issues with the filter in the handle.
I must admit that on that job we were having some problems with fingering and tried different settings and couldn't seem to totally eliminate the problem although it turned out not to be a big issue because of our overlaps.
I can knock out a ceiling that size in 45 minutes with a 1/2 inch nap/ 18 inch wide roller and not have to drop plastic on all the walls from top to bottom. Plus not have to lug the sprayer around and then have to clean it afterword. As well as not having to worry about breathing in any "get through" paint particles. Plus my finish is going to be even, and thoroughly covered with one coat and still wet back roll. No need for dropping off the floor, or breeches either. AND, I'm using less paint.
With my sprayer I'll have the whole room done in 20 minutes. We can knock out a 4 bed house in an afternoon. I'll back roll and ruin the finish too if they want.
@@MrSuperawesome5000 While your hanging plastic and masking off everything, I'm half way done with the ceiling using an 18 " roller. Then when your finally ready to spray, following with having to go back and take care of breeches, and then having to remove the plastic and tape and cleaning the hose, sprayer nozzle, and bucket, I'm done with the other half.

Good for you and more power to you Mr. Superman btw it wasn't necessary for us to do any backrolling, it looked superb without the need to back roll at all
The sprayer setting is all the way down on low, I can't imagine having it set any higher than that because there is so much pressure/output with the Aventi.. If you are new to using a spray gun - make sure that the moment you first trigger the gun that you are in a traveling motion or you will immediately overload the surface you are spraying onto.
Wow this is like the fifth video I've seen of this sprayer everybody's getting the paint line on both sides of the spray pattern but nobody wants to mention it and when they do they just go oh well this is a definitely no go now if it's just a gun which would make sense why is anybody not saying anything. Does harbor freight forward slash Avanti can you put a much higher quality gun on that sprayer
Couldn’t you just mask walls with paper mask instead. Also, if to turn the spray lever to the opposite direction and give it a blast it will clean it out.
Sorry for my slow response. This sprayer I would characterize as designed for more high volume output. I havent worked with BIN BUT I'm guessing it might be to thin which might make it harder to spray without runs. Also I'm thinking about the very fast dry'-time of lacquers which could cause headaches with the spray nozzle ALSO solvent based products.can hatm the O-rings.
Back rolling is absolutely not recommended and will compromise the perfect sheen/coat that you will acheive by spraying. Note: in this video we are using latex satin paint.
@silver and Black. ………curious as to why you backroll siding but not interior . I’m actually the opposite . I would never back roll my exterior job . The reason you back roll interior is because spraying and rolling will leave two different colors/ sheens . So if you ever have any touch up work and it was sprayed without backrolling, then all your touch ups will show up unless you spray again . And I’m positive all the extra spraying he just did when he was done all showed up . That airless is also terrible , it wastes so much paint because it has to be set so dang high , pretty much full blast just to not leave tails . Which he was still clearly leaving , i know for a fact it came out with lines and hot spots because of the extra spraying he did at the end .
Although I've never had the opportunity to use this machine on kitchen cabinets I have used it on primed interior raised panel passage doors and they turned out beautifully and I expect it would do well with cabinets if you follow the manufacturers directions with the product you're using.
Make sure you closely follow all the directions that come with the unit and you won't have a problem with the pump. I also have an extended warranty on the Avanti so I'm not too concerned about it and so far it's still running strong and hard - the perfect choice for me.
Too far away from the work, no extension, pressure set too low, way too much walking around. You should be able to spray at least 100 sq. ft. without moving. Spray and back roll comes out MUCH better. You used WAY too much paint.
@@tellitallnow3914 you spray a section of wall with a generous coat and roll it over with the roller. It evens out the coat and minimizes runs. It is usually done as a 2 man job.

Do you know if I can apply polyurethane foam?
Why didn't you prime the walls and ceiling together?
Great video!
With that machine?
Watching enough paint spraying videos it seems your getting fingerings. Maybe increase pressure slightly till the finger is gone?
I must admit that on that job we were having some problems with fingering and tried different settings and couldn't seem to totally eliminate the problem although it turned out not to be a big issue because of our overlaps.
found this to be helpful. thanks!

What is the sprayer setting at high spray or low spray?

Was there a lot of overspray??
Which spray tip are you using, the one that comes with 515? Or another
Sorry for my slow response. I'm using the spray tip that came with the 515.
@@lwsteinmeyer5054 thanks you
A window open with a fan blowing outwards would be great lol
On its face it sounds like a great idea but would complicate the whole process. Ideally you dont want any air movement while spraying so, mask-up

Can be used with Lacquer based primer like BIN?

yes, 18in roller cover
Why would you have to back roll?? I only back roll like siding or something

Should have gone through the prime process for the pump and gun. The instructions are confusing.
Could you elaborate on that comment?
You will burn that pump up if you continue to spray like that. Ask me how I know . Just saying.

Don't paint like this if you want a nice finish
This was painful to watch. Your pressure was WAY too low. Christ on a bike.
