- In this video, I finally capture a moment I knew was possible but would be hard to achieve. A great white shark and a gray whale together. It would require patience, research, and a bit of luck, but it's a moment that will rank high on my list of great white shark encounters to film. As an added bonus, I was fortunate enough to see a great white shark, a gray whale, and a dolphin in the frame.

Sorry dude nothing special just for you
Indeed it was! My Son was next to me to see such a beautiful moment! It truly was special for me. Thanks for reminding me just how special. I appreciate you commenting and supporting my channel. I totally wish you a special moment you can share with a loved one! All the best to you! Have a safe holiday weekend.
@@TheMalibuArtist Perfect answer.. Its all about that, the ones we love and actually seeing/feeling the beauty this planet and life has to offer and beeing able to share that with a loved one.. Some people mis out on life in that special way 🥰
Great video and shots, that was pure magic ✨
It's special to those who love sharks and whales.
Low IQ comment
@@TheMalibuArtist YOU AND YOUR SON WILL HAVE A SIMILAR SITUATION - LIKE IN HAWAII. .
I feel so sorry for those who ask "why is that special?" 😢
Thank you for sharing. 👍✌️
Exactly what I was thinking how can anyone not understand why it is special that is sad
You can’t hear tone of voice in a text. It may be an appreciative comment trying to draw out more information.
It’s special because it shows species cooperating and interacting peacefully.
One thing that your videos have definitely brought awareness to is that even if we can't see sharks at a surface level, they ARE there. Many times they leave us alone, but every single time you venture into the ocean you drop multiple levels on the food chain.
entering the ocean can sometimes be like entering Detroit I guess
@@bonson9156 What is Detroit but an ocean of concrete and violence?
It does annoy me all this promoting being in the water with big sharks. No you shouldn't be in the water with a great white. Even just a curious nibble from the shark and you've lost an arm. Remember that video fo the Russian getting eaten by a tiger shark? His screams and all of it on camera. Keep that in mind and get out of the damn water if sharks have been spotted. That tiger shark had to be killed so his parents had something to bury.
I feel like these guys hang out in the shallows like we go to the bar. "Hey Phill!" "Hey Sarah! Oh, hey Olivia!" "What's up?" "Oh you know, just escaping the pressures of the deep."
😂
I just pictured Norm and sam from Cheers !!😂
Nothing serious 😂
Lol
Watching footage like this, I'm convinced that great whites are neighbors that sometimes hang out with others; sure you have to be cautious, but they aren't always hunting, that's only a sliver of their lives. Your patience in filming the coastline is astounding. Patience is a virtue, you certainly must be a virtuous person. Bless you and your work 💙.
@travisrygg3317 Great comment! Yeah agreed!
You have to be cautious with dolphins too they can be dangerous to humans as well
I'm a SoCal open water swimmer, and I always recommend your channel when I meet people who are concerned about swimming in the ocean with sharks.
i swim in laguna beach and newport
I swim in my bathtub. Much safer.
The ocean is no longer our domain ever since our ancestor crawled out of it. Swim in a pool and leave these beautiful creatures alone!
Scooby snack
Thank you!! So beautiful. I always feel so privileged when I'm in the company of such magnificent creatures. Your film left me feeling at peace.
I used to take my son to SoCal from Tx in the summer to experience the Pacific Ocean when he was a boy. It was always cold and fresh & seemed dark blue from shore. Seeing your & the Pacific’s artistry from above is an emergent expression of the Pacific we had no idea of. Even the color, clarity & light. If we had seen a shark we would have been scared no lie. Now he’s grown and I’m a freediver and shark diver in South Florida and I feel some kind of way watching your short films. Some day I hope to meet a white shark in person. I might even be a little unnerved still, but the adrenaline will feel like clarified meditation. - Jaríd Nidal Manos, writer
Congratulations, on the shot of your dreams! 💯
the ocean has most probably seen these scenes for thousands of years...and you managed to capture it in film for us all to see...amazing work as ever...your the best bro
Thanks a ton. Lots of luck. Lots of patience. haha
@TheMalibuArtist
Truly Enjoyed This!❤
Thanks For Sharing!❤
As a nature enthusiast, this channel is so awesome. Keep it up dude, you're doing great work
I love to watch your videos in bed prior to sleeping. The wonder of our planet never ceases to amaze me ...& your beautiful filming is soothing for the soul.
Thank you from the UK.
You caught the holy trinity of the socal shoreline and it’s only fitting that it was you! Ty for another awesome vid!
I live in the middle of Canada, no ocean near me. I have had dreams all my life of being able to see these things in person. This video is like a screenshot from many of those dreams I have had. Love this channel.
Nice display of strength from the whale. Stirs up sand and blows bubbles under the shark, limiting it’s breathing and vision. And the dolphins just seemed to be hanging back, making sure they’re seen.
“We are too much work for you.”
That was cool. Extraordinary. Thank you for hours of work it took for this.
the few times white shark predation on larger whale species has been observed (mostly on younger humpbacks and grey whales) they've gone after the area where the tail joins the body. no wonder that great white seemed to focus in on that section a few times.
beautiful camera work as always!
Fantastic footage, Carlos! Congrats 💐
the beauty of this video, seeing all those species all together in the same frame made me cry. it's so wonderful
Magnificent footage! I watched in awe with a grin on my face! Thank you for sharing this beautiful scene!
Glad you enjoyed it!
All I have to say is, WOW! This was one of my very favorites from you. You're definitely in the right line of work, TYVM!👏💯🐬🦈🐋
This is gold. The images, music, comments.. just perfect in a peaceful harmony. Please don’t stop doing this amazing job
1. The dolphin slowmo jump out of the wave with the rainbow
2. The "triple threat" shot of the whale, the shark, and the dolphins
3. The big shot of the whale, dolphins, baitfish, and seagulls
4. The final shot of the ocean sunset and the lone gull
Wow I got so many chills from this video.
Goose bumbs. TY. Ask someone who is newly widowed and stuck in a wheelchair after being in ICU nurse and helping people her entire life, you bring me a smile and a joy have a different view once in awhile. Thank you so much. I grew up in Huntington Beach and I'm currently in South florida. Maybe one day, you could film The Everglades from above😊
No! This is everything!! I cannot even imagine what you felt in that moment because I'm laying in bed watching this magical moment on a screen and I'm ecstatic 🤩 What a brilliant job! 👏🏽
This stuff warms my heart. I was convinced as a child that I had been a dolphin before. My grandma had a picture of dolphins in the bedroom and I felt like I knew them. Peace.
Thank you for doing everything you do! I am passionate about changing the way the world looks at these beautiful creatures. You are doing more to help them than possibly anyone. Keep up the amazing work!!!
Thank you. I love seeing your drone views.
Amazing footage. Thank you it is rare for the layman to have the privilege of watching content like this.
This gave me goosebumps. Absolutely gorgeous footage!
Incredible footage! So excellent that you can share all the experiences that you’ve captured with us! What time and patience you have! 🎥
Most amazing! I can appreciate the hours of patience seeking such a shot. I am reminded of a program I saw years ago when a nature photographer- Marty Stouffer - had an episode showing two small jungle cats encountering one another. The rarity of the situation was that both these cats ( different species) were primarily nocturnal and the recorded event happened in daylight, and each species do rare that that were seldom seen by mankind. For him to capture such an event had such a staggering numerical improbability that it truly unbelievable.
Absolutely love it!
Very well done!
Thank you!
You should be internationally recognized for your work. THIS one was so stunning I was choked up.❤ Your videos bring us closer to understanding these phenomenal creatures. So very, very beautiful! Thank you!💖✨️
I have a difficult time finding ways to self- soothe anxiety. This was so calming.. I could feel my heartbeat slow down. Thank you for what do!
As professional sailor and media producer I cant express enough my respect and admiration for your outstanding work. From people like you we can learn, understand, appreciate, respect and try to live in harmony with our environment. Having grown up with Jaques Cousteau's Calypso TV series I always loved sharks, since decades. Fascinating creatures, nowadays we have so much knowledge available that false terms like "monsters", "man eaters" are documenting our silliness human race have been driven to hunt these species down to the edge of extinction. Drones by sure are a gift for any nature documentary film maker. And you have developed this tool to perfection, beside your editing and narration skills. Tks for all your efforts, patience and consistency. Finally it pays out ! Keep going please ... I have no doubts, that there is more to discover which surprises us and deepens our bond with the beautyness our planet has to offer.
I can only imagine your excitement when you captured these three beautiful species together! Absolutely fabulous, thank you for sharing your amazing work with us👌💕
What you started was so simple yet it has evolved into some of the most astounding and valuable documentation to date. Very well done! 🤙
Glad you enjoyed it!
@TheMalibuArtist absolutely breathtaking! As an ocean lover I so appreciate how you capture the beauty of the ocean and marine wildlife.
Something very special for you turned into something awesome for me to see. Thanks. 😊
I love this you gained a supporter of your work. I want to thank you for your patience and time that you take to show us these beautiful moments of marine life.
It's well appreciated.
WOW! So beautiful and ever so rare. Never have seen anything so mesmerizing and terrifying. I was in fear of the possibility, which I never would have imagined didn't happen.
It’s amazing! You are illuminating a totally different side to ocean life. In marine nature documentaries, I have only ever been shown seals being eaten by sharks and whale calfs being attacked and eaten by orcas. It seems to me that’s all that ever happens but you are showing that these species do co-exist peacefully much of the time.
That was a great and rare video capture Carlos. Awesome to see all three species together. 🙂
Def recognize that spot at 4:44 -- what luck and patience to snag such an amazing capture.
Thank you !!!!! Respect from Sparta, Greece .
Thanks for this extraordinary video. It made me very emotional. Everything in nature is beautiful for those who want to see it. Greetings from Belgium.
AMAZING!!! Thank you so much for this wonderful footage!
Brilliant footage and fantastic timing well deserved 👏 wonderful to see! I'm excited by this, thankyou! 😊
This video is so amazing. It even brought tears to my eyes. Thank you so much.
This was so moving ....I don't if I'm crying bc I'm excited, sad, mesmerized, warned, or just plain tired .. the beauty of God's gifts and precious blessings we have all around us but are too busy to appreciate or acknowledge for the most part are so phenomenal if you think about it....thank you for sharing !!!!!
That is truly an amazing view of just shear size of the whale that could have easily tipped that boat over, but it just simply passed thru
These shots and all the different animals together were amazing to see 🖤 thank you
I love your channel so much. I hope you get to keep making more discoveries to share with the world for many years to come. This footage really is invaluable.
Thank you so much for making nature visible
Well done, mate. Another groundbreaking catch.😎
That was amazing. Truly beautiful to see ! Thank you
One of your best yet, Carlos! Congratulations on the dream shot!
You're doing so much for these great beasties, miscategorized with such a poor reputation;
& doing as much for revealing the wild nature of one of America's most famous coastlines.
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you very much!

Awesome content my man. Your narration is top notch as well. Very well done. 👏 👍🏽
Amazing and congratulations! Very moving footage and narration!
A man with a drone has brought us footage shark week, blue planet and all those documentary shows have never.
back around 94' I was 16years old swimming around 15ft deep water maybe 100ft feet out in Bodega Bay. Saw a large dark 'rock' way out there and decided to go stand on it. I yelled at my mom to take a picture of me standing on this 'rock' "KING OF TEH OCEANS!!". I got about 6ft away from it when WHOOOOOOOOOSH!!!! turns out that 'rock' was a flipping adolescent grey whale! I almost peeed myself it scared me that much. When I realized it was 'just' a whale I yelled back and had mom takes pics of me where you could just barely make out the dark outline. Sadly those pictures were lost in a house fire in 1998
I feel chills when l saw the three species together l know for sure you are blessed 😊❤
Wow, absolutely stunning footage!

Beautiful and breathtaking, as always.
Thank you Carlos. Stunning.
So very incredible!
And we get to experience this magical moment because of you….
❤️🙏❤️
Congratulations, that is really great footage. I guess in my mind I had always envisioned when these interactions occurred it would end in a violent scene but seeing your footage you get the feeling they all live together in the ocean and not all encounters are violent. Sometimes they are just neighbors. As are we!! Cheers.
Congratulations on your patience for a dream come true!!! 😄
Thank you!! 😁
Amazing footage my friend ❤
