    A lot of hard work Kurt! For being a little bit lazy.
    But you managed to salvage a lovely image in the end.
    Thank you for sharing 👍

      Many thanks Tam! I had a lot of experience with not so good data (haha) when I first started out so I have lots of experience.

    Good tutorial Kurt.
    Those dust bunnies seem to show up unexpectedly, so it's good to know how to 'deal' with them if you were not able to generate a good set of flats/dark-flats. I also dither when gathering the light frames. That helps too. I did not know about EZ Soft Stretch. Good to know. I hope all that Canadian smoke has cleared out of your area so I can correctly say: "Clear skies" my friend.

      Thanks Pat, yeah seems I always have dust bunnies with that setup even after the next night. That smoke has really made a mess of the night skies here. It all depends on which way the wind blows. Right now we have some T-storms as you problably already know so hopefully it will blow it away. Cheers Kurt

    WOW! Thank you Kurt for producing this video. Although I am very much a newbie and don't have the PixInsight program, I followed along and got a good "in sight" in regard to the program. I do have Photoshop and I learned more about it's capabilities! Thank you once again for sharing your knowledge with us.

    Thank you very much for this video. I’m definitely going to use this. Usually my flats take out the dust bunnies, but every so often they don’t quite do the job, for whatever reason.

    Good stuff Kurt. I really relate to your comment about being lazy when it comes to doing flats. I try and keep everything really clean so I don't have to do them frequently, but if I spent as much time doing flats as trying to prevent doing them I would probably come out better. :) -Cheers Robert

    Very useful. I've just discovered sky flats which seem to work amazingly!

    Thank you sir, that was very informative. I'm always learning.
    You forgot to add the links for "How to take Flats". Please add the link to the method you think works best.
    Thanks... CS

      Added! Thanks for the comments. I added some links to taking flats which I thought were good. I did not choose just one because it really depends on your system/setup and which capturing software you use as to how best to collect them. - Good Luck

    Great “ah-ha” insight, i.e., spots occuring on both sides of the meridian! Excellent. Why not simply just use clone stamp? Thanks for all your videos.

    • @AstroQuest1
      @AstroQuest1  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question Joseph and thanks for commenting. You could and on this image it would probably have been fine, however, when you use the clone stamp you actually change the background (destroy) and on certain images, like faint nebula, there may be some background that youn want to keep original. - Cheers

    Hello, Kurt. Nice video. May I ask an unrelated question? I have a Sirius EQ-G and I'm considering getting an AT115EDT. Will I need an extension for the mount or will the telescope+flattener+astro camera be hitting tripod legs without it? Also, how is the guiding with the AT115EDT and the Sirius? Thanks.

    • @AstroQuest1
      @AstroQuest1  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. I would recommend getting the 8" extension just as a precaution. It gives you more security as I can image vertically which if I did not have it it would be iffy. So, not required most of the time but definately useful for when you do need it. As gar as guiding goes, I am getting really good numbers and have been. I am still using it going on eight years now. Cheers

    Does your way in photoshop also works on colorful nebulas? I got a dust spot on my eagle nebula. Thanks for any kind of help

      Sure does, in addtion you could play with the color balance to adjust the 'bunnies'.
