  • I have been following TrimUI from the start. Are their handhelds getting better, or are they still full of disappointments? Let's find out.
    EDIT:
    I neglected to get the GPU right, here's what it really is.

    Watching this again and I didn't notice before but this console looks small when your hands are on it. Is it smaller than I thought or are your hands massive?

    • @RetroZoltan

      Massive hands. Its pretty close to the size of a PSP Vita.

    Nice work. I also have conflicting feeling about this console. But for some reason I find N64 a lot of fun with these analogue sticks, and GTA Vice City and Liberty City Stories play well enough to make this a decent choice for me.

      Thank you! I’m finding the more I play with it the more I like it. I may give GTA a run on this too! Good choice!

    I absolutely love the battery sleep power on this device. It feels almost just like a vita. Very pro feel!
    Too bad it's not very powerful. 2gb of ram would have been super nice!

    • @RetroZoltan
      @RetroZoltan  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I noticed the sleep doesn’t kill the battery too! A plus I never got to mention!

    I’ve had this device since pre-launch and a retail version. I’ve never had an issue drag and dropping ROMs onto an SD card. There is also some updated firmware from TrimUI that resolves some of the other issues you are having. Great review though

    • @RetroZoltan
      @RetroZoltan  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Before pre-launch? How do I get in on that?
      Thank you. My experiences are usually the worst because I mess around too much. Never had an issue with ROMs exactly … but was having other issues for sure. I’m going to do a follow up for sure.

    I have a question. With so many retro emulators, do you have time to play on most of them?

    • @RetroZoltan
      @RetroZoltan  หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I love MrZakuRetro's answer! "Zoltan is eternal!" I only stick to my favorites, for the most part. Finding out how they work is just as fun for me. I usually spend about a week fiddling around and playing games on one before committing to a review.. and on alot of these they go back into the box for eternity.

    Such a shame that it doesn't have HDMI out. It's a feature that has to be standard for me to consider it.

    Did you update to 1.0.4? The new update is supposed to fix PSP performance and add Vulcan mode for PSP.

    • @RetroZoltan
      @RetroZoltan  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I eventually upgraded but failed to talk about Vulcan mode. Im dangerously close in having a follow up video once I figure out why I couldn’t get MinUI working either. Somehow tomato screwed things up on my unit also but I can’t prove it :/

    • @timtomnaru
      @timtomnaru หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@RetroZoltan I've heard that the tomato OS update (1.0.4.1) is breaking the fps on Vulcan that the 1.0.4 fixes. I found an easy fix tho... just copy over the 1.0.4 sd emulator cheat and config files back over the tomato ones. It should overwrite any issues from the cfw.

    This have some interesting bad design:
    1- sticks have no buttons no l3/r3
    2-l2/l3 maybe the worst out there in wild savanna of retro consoles.
    3-the place to the hdmi cover was in the bottom of the device.
    4-the buttons can be bigger.
    5-the screen could be a 3:2.
    6-the speakers are in weird place having so much console real state.
    6-i don't have one

    • @RetroZoltan
      @RetroZoltan  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This is a GREAT summary of all the problems (including you not having one!). I wish I got into the aspect ratio as you mentioned. I'll have to do better talking about those in my figure reviews!
