Zoltan Zoltan Zoltan. What do you think you're doing making these smart concise reviews with no BS? You gotta pad these videos son. They need to be 15 minutes at least so you can stuff lots of midrolls and sponsor segments in there. You're never gonna make a million TH-cam Dollarydoos making these brief well made videos.
your too kind! I'm always hopeful someone appreciates my "get to the point" video's. Your right though... no Zillion dollars .. but some awesome comments like this one are better then cash I promise you!
@@RetroZoltan 😊 Thank you for recognizing my attempt at sarcastic humor. I always click your videos immediately because I know I'll get good information quickly. Take care.
I’ve had this device since pre-launch and a retail version. I’ve never had an issue drag and dropping ROMs onto an SD card. There is also some updated firmware from TrimUI that resolves some of the other issues you are having. Great review though
Before pre-launch? How do I get in on that? Thank you. My experiences are usually the worst because I mess around too much. Never had an issue with ROMs exactly … but was having other issues for sure. I’m going to do a follow up for sure.
I absolutely love the battery sleep power on this device. It feels almost just like a vita. Very pro feel! Too bad it's not very powerful. 2gb of ram would have been super nice!
Nice work. I also have conflicting feeling about this console. But for some reason I find N64 a lot of fun with these analogue sticks, and GTA Vice City and Liberty City Stories play well enough to make this a decent choice for me.
I hate that I didn't get into detail. Basically you get a blank SD card and unzip the contents onto the SD card. Have you tried that? or do you need more detail? I can come up with a step by step if your still having difficulty. Sorry your having trouble, I want to help!
Watching this again and I didn't notice before but this console looks small when your hands are on it. Is it smaller than I thought or are your hands massive?
I eventually upgraded but failed to talk about Vulcan mode. Im dangerously close in having a follow up video once I figure out why I couldn’t get MinUI working either. Somehow tomato screwed things up on my unit also but I can’t prove it :/
@@RetroZoltan I've heard that the tomato OS update (1.0.4.1) is breaking the fps on Vulcan that the 1.0.4 fixes. I found an easy fix tho... just copy over the 1.0.4 sd emulator cheat and config files back over the tomato ones. It should overwrite any issues from the cfw.
TBH, I wish that the Nintendo Switch could have a screen that small, let alone Nintendo's upcoming system in 2025. I would be satisfied with a handheld/portable device more powerful than the Xbox 360 and PS3 hardwares so long as their aspect-ratio is approximately 16:9, and their pixel-display resolution is approximately any quality combination that I find 2B reasonable enough for Widescreens (1280x720, 1920x1080, 2560x1440, and/or 3840x2160). The Steam Deck doesn't count to me because it's too heavy, and features many inputs not usually needed on a Switch-like or Vita-like device.
I love MrZakuRetro's answer! "Zoltan is eternal!" I only stick to my favorites, for the most part. Finding out how they work is just as fun for me. I usually spend about a week fiddling around and playing games on one before committing to a review.. and on alot of these they go back into the box for eternity.
This have some interesting bad design: 1- sticks have no buttons no l3/r3 2-l2/l3 maybe the worst out there in wild savanna of retro consoles. 3-the place to the hdmi cover was in the bottom of the device. 4-the buttons can be bigger. 5-the screen could be a 3:2. 6-the speakers are in weird place having so much console real state. 6-i don't have one
This is a GREAT summary of all the problems (including you not having one!). I wish I got into the aspect ratio as you mentioned. I'll have to do better talking about those in my figure reviews!
@@RetroZoltan 3:2 would be the best compromise you win screen for all the 4:3 consoles or 1:1 and yeah you have borthers in 16:9 but pspps can use wide-screen hacks or streach a litle nobody gonna know.

Ok does it power on at least? You see it trying to load up, correct? If so it sounds like your system SD (the internal) is corrupted. If you got it new I would send it back! If you got it used then i think you can reflash it? Something I haven’t tried yet!

I noticed the sleep doesn’t kill the battery too! A plus I never got to mention!
Such a shame that it doesn't have HDMI out. It's a feature that has to be standard for me to consider it.
I agree 100%. I'm shocked they didn't go this route. This would have made it way better! Guess they ran out of time and/or money.
I have a spare usb-c to hdmi I will be testing today. the top usb says "host" which makes me think usb display might be an option.
dang it didn't work. my mouse didn't work anyway. I think usb host only works with flash drives.

Massive hands. Its pretty close to the size of a PSP Vita.
