    Just asking for your opinion on a different concept of my own that is quite basic. The build can at least be of 2 ultra strong permanent magnets, one above another where the top magnet stays stationary on a plastic* container filled with water while the other is inside that container. Between the top magnet and the container needs to be a very narrow gap for which a light sheet of lead* can easily slide between the magnets just enough to cause the bottom magnet to fall as if it were a delicate power switch that the rise and fall will help* generate more electrical power than it would take to move the lead* sheet in and out of that gap in least frictionless way, maybe levitated by other magnets. The water is basic to prevent damaging and even far to much noise.
    .
    In summary... it would be as if the permanent magnets can be switch on and off like electro-magnets.
    .
    I tend to come up with a whole lot of various ideas that worked out awesomely, but... not always able to test some of my ideas out.

    • @CL-gq3no
      @CL-gq3no 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      They build solar farms near communities, then they get people in those communities to use them as the energy provider. So those customers get bills from the community solar project, pay cheaper rates than traditional energy providers would charge, and the community solar project uses any profits to build out more solar or to reduce rates. So it's kind of like having solar panels on your own roof except the panels are installed and maintained in a shared remote location.

    • @anuj3956
      @anuj3956 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @CL-gq3no
      @CL-gq3no 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@anuj3956, in the near term probably not because solar and wind still make up a smaller portion of grid energy than fossil fuels. So currently fossil fuels are still providing that buffer/baseline power. Longer term, as solar and wind overtake fossil fuels, battery storage will need to be deployed and fossil fuels will be phased out (because of higher overall costs compared to renewables w/ battery storage).

    Solar power is CHEAPER and electric vehicles are soon to be CHEAPER to make and already are considerably CHEAPER to maintain and operate, especially if charged from your own solar power.
    A 3 year ROI (return on investment) for a solar array that will generate power for decades is a no-brainer and the panels can even be made locally too.

    Wait til all these solar panels are filling up landfills...
    Nobody wants to recycle them.. this is gonan be real bad if nobody wants to do it in the future... I wouldn't invest all into solar... not right now. But technology should definitely continue research in efficiency and hopefully comes with durability and longevity. I do hope this part of my comment aged unwell though. We'd all win if its not true.
    I'm still a nuclear power plant guy. I think we should have nuclear lead the forefront for energy until wind and solar becomes highly efficient, then we can ease off nuclear. Then again.. having nuclear + wind + solar would be the truest zero-carbon emission for energy. Especially if we finally have a workable thorium-based nuclear power plant. Now even the environmental cost will be significantly reduced.
    But either way.. all renewable energy path leads to some form of environmental damage later, best to split the load until we discover something to deal with it.

    There is no systems built to store electricity that is overproduced and introduce it into the grid as demand rises or production falls.
    Create this exact scenario and replace solar array with wind turbine and you see my point.
    Perfect moment of wind and you have rated power output, the rest of the day in the real world and you have 50% or less production, again with no systems built to store electricity that is overproduced and introduce it into the grid as demand rises or production falls.
    So basically you are selling snake oil to environmental folks that are so focused on the "prize" of Net Zero they ignore the reality of the situation.
    I am a huge fan of solar and wind. But why not use this as a turning point in the history of mankind? A place where we as this new generation break away from the 'snake oil sales pitch' and actually create a power grid that is well thought out, stable, reliable and produces power in a cost effective manner? One that is generating a positive income stream so as to make it more attractive for business to invest in instead of the government funded, money grab that is occurring now.

    Renewal energy is not the answer, you are just delaying the inevitable.
    Nature is the answer, in Singapore they are redesigning their cities so that wind could flow easily, planting more tree and building artificial pond and water stream. It will result in decrease in temperature which will lead to decrease in consumption of Air Conditioner and refrigerator which lead to less CFC and green house gasses effect.
    Reduce your electric consumption and you don't need these.

    • @CL-gq3no
      @CL-gq3no 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ThomasBomb45, we don't need to get to zero actually. We just need to get to the point that nature can keep up. We can start with the lowest hanging fruit and work our way up until we find a balance. Commercial planes and large ships would be last on the list for example. But you are correct that some artificial ponds and some trees alone are not going to solve the problem. I live in FL and artificial ponds and streams would just make it that much more humid. Also, a tree or pond is not going to get me to work or charge my laptop. So yeah, every little bit helps, but solar is a giant piece of the puzzle.

    • @ThomasBomb45
      @ThomasBomb45 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CL-gq3no nature can't keep up if we keep burning fossil fuels.
      Every atom of carbon a tree absorbs is released when it dies. The vast majority of the carbon cycle is a closed loop. If a forest Burns, it releases a lot of CO2 but then the new trees growing absorb that CO2 back over 10 or 20 years. But once trees are fully grown, they don't absorb CO2. So without human activity, carbon dioxide levels would stay roughly flat.
      The problem comes from digging up carbon out of deep underground. All of that carbon has nowhere to go, because plants are too busy absorbing the carbon released from the tree that fell down to open up room in the canopy for the next tree
