      Yea there are 2 sanctuaries in Bohol, Philippines. But they double as tourist petting zoos and don't do a good job. The animals shouldn't be in a zoo at all, but at least it is something.

      @crewcutter2030 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AnimalScienceTV wrong, the area is an open land, and its not a petting zoo, you even have to whisper when your in the area, there is a just a small part where tourist can visit, but still an open area, tarsier simply dont leave so long as they dont get stressed and food source is abundant.

    How about pit vipers of Batanes...the most rare is Albino color viper..which is for unknown reason colored white.
    Very expensive pet trade in the blackmarket.

      That is a good idea to do vipers instead of snakes in general. Scientists know why there are albinos

    Watching this with my my four year old daughter... she screamed and jumped behind me and said turn it off. Showing a terrifying moment in an R rated horror movie in the middle of a seemingly family friendly animal facts video... not cool.

    • @AnimalScienceTV
      @AnimalScienceTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sorry about that. I was able to blur that section of the video. The channel is not for kids but I don't want to be scaring people if not necessary.
      Thanks for the advice I will try to learn from the mistake, I am new

    • @AnimalScienceTV

      Also there is a youtube kids app where creators have to check the box made for kids, that could be a better option as a lot of animal channels show photos of carnivores eating and stuff like that

    This was a great video in terms of education on Tarsiers. However, it is baffling to me that you would make an "Animal Science TV" video that is designed for education (with a reasonable assumption that kids will be watching this as well) and throw in a clip from The Exorcist. It suddenly makes it unusable for many.

    • @AnimalScienceTV
      @AnimalScienceTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yea I guess it is a good idea to not do not safe for children topics or sections. My target audience is adults but it would help to not do anything to exclude them

    Just a note. I'd hold off on saying humans were primates. Seeing as how that is still a theory. They don't call it the theory of evolution for nothing.

    • @AnimalScienceTV
      @AnimalScienceTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      a theory in science doesn't mean the same thing as it does in the English dictionary. It is the pinnacle of science and explains what we see in nature. Other theories are plate tectonics and the germ theory of disease. Sure theories could always be changed but they are very well supported. A "hypothesis" might be the word you are looking for. Thanks for watching :)

    I wonder if these were the inspiration behind the movie "Gremlins" as there are some similarities. Nice video! The Exorcist clip was a fun addition to demonstrate turning a head 180 degrees. These little primates seem to have expressive faces too from pictures I have seen. As interesting as they are it is smart of you to include how they do not make a good pet. I hope their population grows. What an interesting world we live in.

    • @AnimalScienceTV
      @AnimalScienceTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Haha I think they are much nicer than Gremlins. I was in the Philippines for a couple of years and couldn't find any tarsiers (i wasn't looking but i went to bohol) but it looks like I'll be going back this year

      @@darwalde I'm sure she will survive and not need therapy. Disney movies are terrifying to kids too. It was cool and nothing to whine about. It's nobody else's job to protect our kids. The other day a motorcycle went by that was so loud it made my kid cry. Should everyone do things that don't make kids uncomfortable? Seems silly to me to make a big deal about it. Such is life.
