  • Dispatches from beneath the peat fen presents the Must Farm pile-dwelling settlement - its discovery, context, and implication. In the context of later Bronze Age Fenland, a key objective of this presentation is to show that the exceptionally well-preserved pile-dwelling settlement was anything but exceptional!

I'm an archaeologist working in Tucson, Arizona, USA. Really enjoyed this presentation. We have worked at a somewhat similar site, las Capas, that is layers of field systems, houses, and pits. Floods frequently covered the place up, and then people rebuilt. We dug down 17 feet below the ground surface and never reached the bottom of the cultural layers.

Thanks for the great webinar! Astonishing to think what might still be there, and so frustrating that so much has already been lost to quarrying. I'll definitely get the open access documents (thanks for that too!) Could you put up a link to the answers to the unanswered questions? Please keep us updated to your ongoing progress!😃

Thank you from California =] that’s the best archeology seminar I’ve ever watched, bar none! Incredible work done on an amazing and fascinating site. I posted it on Twitter and will post the manuscripts after I’ve read them. Top notch work gentlemen 🌊🏄‍♂️🪷

    What a fantastic, fascinating presentation.
Until now I had no idea of the overall context of Must Farm, and no idea how comprehensive the finds were. Thank you so much!
