@patrick, PowerBi provides advance filtering, and under this there is "Contains" option, I use url filtering but as we don't have contains operator, so I am not getting output. I also tried to use in operator but it is not fulfilling contains jobs. So how can I achieve this? Any suggestions

Hi Patrick we have an issue, we have a live connection connected to. When the user opens the report the user should see by default the data of today's and the should be able move backward also. We have used between slicer. The problem is we aren't able to set the slicer to current date.
Have you tried using the relative date slicer. This doc explains how to use it in details: docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/desktop-slicer-filter-date-range. I plan on doing a video on this in the near future. Thanks for watching.

Hi guys, working with date slicer both in master and detail pages, I noticed that in the page which I navigate to the date slicer (in between mode) isn't updated with the correct date range I've passed even if data in the report are correctly filtered. Instead, using date slicer in list mode, it's correctly updated. Could it be a bug??? Thanks

Great video. I'm trying to get something similar to work and cannot figure it out. I want have a user do a single select on a value in a slicer and have this value appended to a string that then makes up a URL which is a call to a JSON API. I can get this all working when using Power BI Parameter functionality in Power BI desktop. What I cannot figure out is how to get the value from the filter passed through to Power Query so it can then make the API call. If I can get this last piece working, my client is going to love this and it enables an whole piece of insight using a third party data source through the JSON API. I have tried all sorts of things and cannot make it work. I have an equivalent working in Excel where I can select a value in dropdown, it dynamically creates the URL and executes the call. The results are returned and pivot tables and charts automatically updated with the data returned from the API call.

Today you can't do substring queries on the filter query string.

Is there any way to filter only a page instead of the whole report?
From from a URL Parameter. You can have Page level filters in a given report, but not setting them dynamically from a URL parameter.

Solved, the issue was due to the fact that date column used to populate the slicer wasn't modelled as date but as date-time
