60103 FLYING SCOTSMAN - First Outing of Centenary Year 1923-2003 at Carnforth 22/02/23

See 60103 'Flying Scotsman' arrive and depart from Carnforth on 22/02/23 headed from Bury - East Lancs Railway to Edinburgh for an event to mark the locos centenary year and 100th Birthday on Friday 24th February.
The loco arrives tender first from Bury around 90 mins late after an inspection at Preston to manage (reported) axle/oil temperatures.
Upon arriving onto the depot, the loco is re-fuelled and then turned on the Carnforth turntable before heading back out of the depot and up to Carnforth North Jct, before accelerating away up the WCML to Carlisle and Edinburgh.

I think it should be worth noting that, even if it was just for a pit-stop, Flying Scotsman had returned for the first time in years to a place that had once been its permanent home during the '70s and '80s while in the ownership of William McAlpine. Back then Carnforth was always Steamtown to many people. Regards, Samuel Farris.
