I have shared your story with so many. I bought your book and can’t wait to read it. Thank you for using your voice for so much good! Man it’s a tough time to stay true. Pres. Nelson was not kidding when he said in the coming day it will not be possible to survive spiritually without the constant gift of the Holy Ghost! Thanks again for speaking out! I jump and rejoice anytime I see you being interviewed! 💪🏻💪🏻🔥🙌🏻❤️
I’m on page 64 right now. Good to see Austin on more faithful LDS channels. The not the better. Antis/exmos don’t have a monopoly on the internet anymore and I love watching them squeal. All the love for everyone for sure but still…
Love the Light and Truth Letter! It’s commendable to figure things out for yourself, but to use your experience to help others with their faith/questions too… My hat goes off to you!
35:11 To be completely fair, it may be argued that we as faithful believers also engage in these so called "fallacies" to varying degrees. It's fair to say that we often hear from the pulpit (and even in general conference) to stay away from any negative voices all together and anything that comes from the "antis" had best be avoided just because of where it comes from. When we label any of these arguments (from either side) as being or having a "fallacy," we have to be super careful about what conclusion we draw. Fallacy does not always equal untruth (it'scalled the "fallacy" fallacy, which is the fallacy of over-relying on finding fallacies.) A fallacy may make an argument weaker or cause unintended consequences but even the most convoluted and fallacious logic can still nevertheless lead to a conclusion that happens to be true. It's useful to recognize some of these debate tactics and their pitfalls, but I just wanted to point out that we should ultimately be fair and open-minded, and not come to a quick conclusion by saying something like "their arguments contain such and such fallacy, so case closed." I'm not necessarily accusing either of the people in the video of falling into this type of behavior, but just wanted to throw it out there for other viewers to think about.
My opinion is that once we have been enlightened by truth and received a desire to believe or a witness of the truth thru the spirit, then everything which detracts or distracts or tries to reduce that witness should be avoided. If we are truly seekers of truth, then all that we intake should uplift and inspire and lead us closer to Christ. The goal of 90% of antis is to convince us that God is not real and that life has no meaning. That is their conclusion once they deconstruct their faith. Very few actually continue in Christianity. Deconstructivism is from Satan and it destroys everything it touches, from art and architecture to faith and religion. It does not create and uplift, it tears down and destroys.
I don't disagree with you. My letter is a reaction to critics. Certainly I hope someone does not conclude after reading my letter that the critics are the bad guys always doing the bad things. It cuts both ways. Mostly I want to help people who encounter narratives to understand potential manipulation or fallacies being used. Thanks for watching!
@@racealexander1660 I am inspired when I see someone who is secretly doing good to others without wanting to be found out, doing it only for the glory of God and not just to their own kind but also to strangers. In my opinion it is God alone who can testify to us by the Spirit who these people are. It is common that a thing of great value is often kept in a box of little value.
Mormonism Live just did a good episode on this. They highlighted Austin’s chapter on church finances where he conveniently failed to address the SEC fiasco. I’d hate to see their review of the whole letter. ❤
RFM used a red herring and a hasty generalization to distract from the issues and questions I raised in that section. He essentially proved the point I was making in that section.
@ he said he picked one chapter. If you want him to cover more, I’m sure they would - also think they’d love to have you answer for yourself on their show. You’re probably scared to do that though
@@savedbygracethrufaith I can appreciate the anti-mormon hustle but I have no interest talking with someone trying to embarrass me. RFM had a chance to seriously engage in the arguments of that section of my letter but instead distracted attention away from the issues I raised in that chapter. It's called a red herring when you use "whataboutisms" to distract attention away from the issues raised. That's the definition of a bad faith actor. Very easy to understand.
Glad you found the way back!
As someone who already knows his story I appreciate where he decided to take this interview.
I’ve heard his story before and I love it! Love hearing these testimonies.
Hopefully you got a different enough perspective on this one!
Thanks for having me on!
If you want tips on how to receive comfort without Dr. Pepper, then this interview is for you. 🔥
😂
This may very well be my favorite interview! I will definitely remember your prayer for comfort. Thanks Austin! 💞

Austin Is doing a great work!
Gathering in his own unique way for the Lord.
Host, you say "yeah", "mmhmm" too much. Dial it back about 5x. Other than that, fantastic ep!
In Wilson's defense I did a lot of talking. If we'd been more conversational I'm sure it would have been different 😁

Plus he conveniently skipped the section about the Church's humanitarian efforts 🤔

@ nice distraction of your own right there. 🤣 You still don’t address the SEC fiasco.
