20:33 "Just get your fire, hold it and take all the shortcuts" Yes but that applies to EVERY DAMN TRACK, do you do a U-turn to get the boost pad on Papu's? Is Speed at all viable on Papu's?
some of them, yes! in general walls seem to act differently though. If you just slightly brush a wall, sometimes you won't lose fire. Someone else had said that depending on how you brush the wall, the wall might just steal some reserves rather than take your fire away entirely. I haven't been able to mess with this much, but there are a few times even in this video where I touch a wall and don't lose fire. Overall this has made time trialing way less frustrating.
k1koth3gre4t they probably felt the same we did like: “Thats fucking bullshit that shouldn’t have hit what a fucking broken game” and fixed most tracks lol
Hey Dashy! Can you please make a short video where you simply scroll through all time trials and showcase the time requirements for all challenge ghosts?
I managed to beat all the developer times, but it was agony. Most were done with the drift class, but speed was needed almost 50 percent. I often watched videos of the dev times and aimed to be around the time for each lap.
game thinks the ghost went out of bounds, so it bugs out and tries rendering the ghost getting picked up. I've seen it happen with other people's ghosts. only happens when you're very close to falling.
I used to be an acceleration main. But then drift came, and it had the exact same handling. So i was like "why not?" But i still play with acceleration sometimes online.
Ain't drift now the best? In play the game back since two weeks now, beaten adventure on hard, platinum relics, Oxide on every tracks, velo sometimes with King Chicken and I get that drift has best handling and speed, reducing possible mistakes AND rewarding you even more for making none?
And then there's me, Who has beaten all Velo times with Balanced (the class i use the most) and now i'm depressed that some of this are impossible with this class (looking at you Crash Cove, damn you William)
How do you explain that Acceleration leaderboard is the second most competitive (after speed) ? I remember to have read that somewhere, but Drift is supposed to be faster than accel, so its leaderboard should be faster as well no?
Competitive as in more people playing it and submitting times to crashteamranking.com. drift is actually the least played class on the site. But yes, technically drift is the second fastest.
For me, out of all the times I think the one I struggled with the most was definitely turbo track. It took me ages to realise that they mess up at the end of lap 3. I always felt I was too far behind so quit halfway around lap 3 but you can definitely catch them with the mistakes they make. Mega mix mania was another one I had problems with. Purely because I kept getting stuck in the mud/grass after the bluefire pad
define "popular choice" for speedrunning. out of the like 80 people on the speedrun.com leaderboard, I think at most 10 of us play accel, the rest play speed. speed is not only the best, but the most popular. some of us just like the way accel handles, that's it.
How is drift class for doing these trials? It seems to be a good gap between acceleration and speed is that accurate? Also is it just me or would you agree that generally developer times first lap is generally best and 3rd worst? So far I seem to being falling behind and catching up more in lap 3.
drift is slightly faster than accel so its a little easier. gap between accel and speed is anywhere between 2-5 seconds depending on the length of the track. also i said this in an earlier comment but ghosts in general are a little weird in that they're constantly like 2-3 frames ahead of where they actually are, which is why you'll see the ghost jump ahead at the start, and also why you see me beat/tie the ghost despite being like a whole kart length behind. Generally though, yes, their main mistakes are either lap 2 or lap 3 from what I saw.
So watching the video, you noted how the dev was 4 seconds behind you on Papu's Pyramid and that you were unable to figure out where they lost time. I honestly think it may be because you did that grass cut and the dev did not. I'm also learning quite a bit of ideas to try out on my own end once I manage to master u-turning. Don't think I'll go for dev times but perhaps Oxide first... still need to beat Tropy and let's just say Dragon Mines is getting close to me losing a controller out a window.
@@iTheDashy Thanks is one of the few tracks I'm missing to get the wheels, it seems impossible to do that section because I'm to fast to react to airbrake

woah, at 30:10 at tiny arena how are you drift boosting and getting the jump boost when you hit the bumps because i didnt see you jump
he hops right after he boosts
4 years later, no PC port
I for some reason think the developers were holding back
Here are my times for all of you to compare. The characters I list are their default driving style. Kart wise, I used the classic wheels and body for the CTR tracks and the driver's respective color and limited myself the tthe CTR characters. CNK, the 16 characters and the four team karts. The bonus tracks I did with Nitro Fueled items characters, outfits, karts, etc. Now then...

Thanks for the tips, almost beat oxide,he won by 1 sec -_- but ill try again ^.^ thanks again dashy
Hey man quick question, how do you turn so fast with acceleration? i cant seem to do what your doing by turning very quick... any tips?
Hey wanted to ask when you say double tap the nitro boost pad how do i do that im asking about the cortex castle map
In cortex castle, how do you do that so called "double tapping" on the blue fire turbopad? Can you do that in any turbopad?
Yes but its alot harder
Great video.
20:33 "Just get your fire, hold it and take all the shortcuts"
Yes but that applies to EVERY DAMN TRACK, do you do a U-turn to get the boost pad on Papu's? Is Speed at all viable on Papu's?
Hi, Dashy, are invisible walls fixed now?
some of them, yes! in general walls seem to act differently though.
@@iTheDashy If we get improvements like this, maybe it isnt farfetched to think, that they're gonna do some item balancing and bugfixing.
devs got so annoyed going for these times that they fixed bugs in-between tries
k1koth3gre4t they probably felt the same we did like: “Thats fucking bullshit that shouldn’t have hit what a fucking broken game” and fixed most tracks lol
How do you glide through the S-section like that on Turbo Track? 14:28
There is a video linked in the cards, description, and pinned comment that explains the grounded u-turn and how it works.
Never mind. Found some post on reddit that explains it better. Thanks anyway.
N tropy: congratulations you beat all my timerecords now you can now select me in the character select as the racer.
Looks petey pirahima.
Just beat the last of the dev times and got the Master wheels. Yay me. 😁
grats!
iTheDashy Thanks 😊
We meet again. Nice racing!
SICK MYSTERY CAVES RUN!!!
me: i have 1 day so finish my school project
also me: let's watch random dude play game what i don't even play for 2 hours.
1:23:25 Hold up why does the Dev have an Invincibility Mask on?
game thinks the ghost went out of bounds, so it bugs out and tries rendering the ghost getting picked up. I've seen it happen with other people's ghosts. only happens when you're very close to falling.
I used to be an acceleration main.
But then drift came, and it had the exact same handling.
So i was like "why not?"
But i still play with acceleration sometimes online.
Ain't drift now the best? In play the game back since two weeks now, beaten adventure on hard, platinum relics, Oxide on every tracks, velo sometimes with King Chicken and I get that drift has best handling and speed, reducing possible mistakes AND rewarding you even more for making none?
Odd how in Coco Park, Oxide takes the shortcut Lap 1 while Velo doesn't.
Beating their ghosts with accelaration is humilitation for them
Studying this video religiously so I can just unlock trophy and the champion cart
I've been struggling shaving the 0.8 off of Roo's Tubes with drift as it's the only one I'm really comfortable with, but this gives me hope!
So there's different levels/ speeds of Blue Fire Boost Pads? I did not know that. Damn this game is advanced, lol.
And then there's me, Who has beaten all Velo times with Balanced (the class i use the most) and now i'm depressed that some of this are impossible with this class (looking at you Crash Cove, damn you William)
Hey can I ask how do u unlock the time trial ghosts I tried unlocking ntropy ghost in mystery caves but it wont show
31:27 I spy a Beenox crate!
This man doesn’t have the crate character
@@CarCorSnoAllen To be fair, beating the dev times--and with acceleration class too--is a bigger bragging right. Haha
I need a t shirt saying "don't lose your fire, cut the corners as close as possible" with a ctr logo
Hey thanks for showing me how to take that fence shortcut on blizzard bluff
Megumi one of the best trophy girls indeed ;3

What are the inputs for ground u turn?
There is a video linked in the cards, description, and pinned comment that explains the grounded u-turn and how it works.
iTheDashy beat all of them thanks!
The dude is flying all over the place in Polar Pass! O.O
I still need practice lol. I'm still struggling to beat Oxide's times because I can't seem to keep my fire going without brushing against a wall.
@@iTheDashy Oh I see, all right ! Thanks for the clarification !
Can someone explain why acceleration seems to be a popular choice for speed running? Like why does it get such special mention?
define "popular choice" for speedrunning. out of the like 80 people on the speedrun.com leaderboard, I think at most 10 of us play accel, the rest play speed. speed is not only the best, but the most popular. some of us just like the way accel handles, that's it.
@@iTheDashy got it.
Thanks for the guide!
ItheDashy just one question do we have to do retro stadium to unlock the master wheels
No
OMG, I had the thought that acceleration was the way to go, thank God I see this before I tried hard
do the pause at 1:32:17 is required to beat the time?
How does he maintain blue fire on turbo track without touching many of the pads?
Did the acceleration stat increase the duration of the flames? I noticed that I have a harder time to maintain the flames when I used speed
Excessiveiser looks quiet.
I don't understand all the driver classes.
What buttons do you need to press to rotate in this way? 14:25
you're an absolute beast
So watching the video, you noted how the dev was 4 seconds behind you on Papu's Pyramid and that you were unable to figure out where they lost time. I honestly think it may be because you did that grass cut and the dev did not.
I'm also learning quite a bit of ideas to try out on my own end once I manage to master u-turning. Don't think I'll go for dev times but perhaps Oxide first... still need to beat Tropy and let's just say Dragon Mines is getting close to me losing a controller out a window.
The good thing about these dev times is that they deliberately give you a chance to actually beat them.
1:15 on thunderstruck... HOW
For beating n trophy can you beat his time without race his ghost
No
How you can past Prehostoric playground ?
Excellent job and very nice play in this map
On few tracks here, dev ghost passes the finish line before you and you still claim the win???
How do you turn so sharply in the air not sure if it's a extra thing or I'm just doing something wrong my turns just seem to be way wider
How do you do the S section in Turbo Track? You didn't jump in that part
There is a video linked in the cards, description, and pinned comment that explains the grounded u-turn and how it works.
@@iTheDashy Thanks is one of the few tracks I'm missing to get the wheels, it seems impossible to do that section because I'm to fast to react to airbrake
ive got 15 devs left any tips or advice please
Thank you so much ♥️

This is oddly satisfying.
should watch this then: www.twitch.tv/videos/539203114
its my actual HAS PB, which is a few whole seconds faster.
