5:14 Baby T-Rex cannot shout, Speak to Dinos to find out. As a bear, they’ll aim to harm, As a T-Rex, you’ll have charm. They will teach you how to roar, Then more Jiggies you can score. Then you’ll open small doors too, Don’t forget that you can poo.
Fun Fact: Acording to the manual, Mumbo taught Grunty magic, but she grew to powerful, betrayed Mumbo, and placed a curse on him witch transformed him from his once dashing self into what he is now, this could be a factor into why everyone seem's to hate him.
I knew that she cursed him but I seem to have forgotten the first part. Being the one who is solely responsible for giving Grunty power would probably mean that everyone would hate him
Since most people have spoken about the T-rex doors, I'll mention Stomponadon's mechanics. His stomp attack actually doesn't just do a lot of damage. What it does is if you're on 1 health left, it takes you out. Otherwise, it will reduce your health to 1. So even having 2 health will protect you from one hit.
The next world also has 2 rooms with that same mechanic (granted, it's possible to get past *both* of them without getting hit once), so it's definitely useful to know!
16:16 Wow, never thought I'd see the day where Jon got frustrated and handed control over to Lucah, how the turntables. Sorry you had a bad day Jon, hope it got better.
Yes that part in particular is VERY frustrating if you don't take out the enemy first. It's almost like the game tricks you into using ice eggs on the fire first and then hitting the pterodactyl with a Grenade egg when its the other way around. I think the reason Tooie has such a special place in my heart is because I actually played it before Kazooie. One of my old friends had Kazooie and they were not fond of it so after I played a lot of Tooie and enjoyed it, they sold me Kazooie. That was the start of a beautiful friendship. I know why people hate Tooie, but I feel like it's one of those games you shouldn't play in one sitting unless you enjoy backtracking.
@@KlaviceGavin Yo, I played Tooie before Kazooie too, and I agree with you! Anyway, the pterodactyls are probably the deadliest regular enemy in the game (not counting the one enemy type in each world that you need eggs to beat), cause the devs made sure to put them in the most precarious of places
Learning how to roar as babby T-Rex is definitely one of the most unintuitive things in the game, since nothing would indicate that the enemies would do anything other than continue to be enemies when you're transformed Lol and speaking of figuring things out, as a kid it never occurred to me that you could shoot ice eggs to put out the fires in the room before the Stomping Plains, so instead, I just maneuvered around the edges of the fire platforms. ...Yeah, I had several deaths in that room XD
28:57 Poor Jon, you may want to leave, But I say *“You must believe!”* Trials are tough, and death is bad, But believing will feel rad! Gird your loins with much belief, Then you will find much relief. But if these words fail you too, Just know we believe in you.
One more comment I'll add. Whichever egg of Terry's is hatched last will always be the large one Banjo has to carry. But I honestly like that moment, because it gives a bit more insight into Kazooie. She called out Terry's joke, which shows that despite Kazooie's attitude and sharp tongue, even she has standards.
Things you're missing: - To learn how to roar as baby T Rex you need to talk to the enemy dinos - The secret code of the dinosaurs is on a sign you haven't found yet - The cave you're missing is directly in front of the flight pad when you reach it with the boots. With that, you should be done with this world until you need to backtrack with new abilities
The intended way the game is laid out has you play as the Baby T-Rex BEFORE playing as the Daddy T-Rex, so it makes sense you wouldn't necessarily wonder "Why don't I have this ability", since it's not one you ordinarily would've even KNOWN about when playing as the T-Rex the first time. It's definitely still a tad unintuitive but many players go wandering around as the Baby T-Rex a bit and naturally find out how they get the roar ability that way.
They should've hidden a switch to spawn the Mumbo pad behind a baby door, but alas, they probably wanted to make it more open to speedrunners or something. I know some companies did that back then, even before speedrunning became a thing.
I actually do remember Jon saying how he didnt like Tooie back in the BK playthrough, and I was surprised he agreed to do this LP. Me personally, I think Tooie is a great sequel, but I can't really choose between this and BK on what I like better
The baby dinosaur roar is really frustrating to me from a game design standpoint. No transformation in EITHER game has ever needed to be upgraded before or after this point, so you have no reason at all of assuming that is a thing unless you happen to see the one specific clue.
I honestly thought my game was bugged when I couldn't roar as the baby dino. I had to google it. I never expected that a transformation would have to learn a move.
Banjo-Tooie was one of my favorite childhood games, but I wholly acknowledge that there's a stiff learning curve for the first play through. I enjoy that the worlds are largely interconnected, but it leads to frustrating scenarios when trying to solve puzzles when they need to be solved in another world. This is definitely a game that gets better one subsequent play throughs, but I understand the bad first impression this game gives.
Speaking of bad first impressions, I wonder what Lucah will think of the next world. Grunty Industries holds a weird, special place in my heart, but there's so much convoluted crap in there, I can see why a lot of people hate it
the cave you guys missed was the one directly in front of the flight pad every time you went to jump up to it and as other people have said, go talk to one of the enemies as baby T i believe the only things left for later will be the water for dippy and getting past the stomping plains as banjo
Banjo-Tooie is my all-time favorite game, but I understand the criticisms towards it. It is a LOT bigger and can get confusing very easily. It could be also that I played Tooie before Kazooie, and I still love the first a lot, but I just find the first one too easy, save Bucket Fall and Clanker’s Key (which is fixed in the Xbox version, which I never played).
Banjo-Tooie is my favourite over BK, but I kinda love it for all the reasons that people seem to dislike it for. I love how huge it is and all the convoluted mazelike level designs and connections to different worlds and how it handles backtracking and stuff. Always been a fan of a game showing you something you can't get to and then when you unlock the ability later you're like "Hmm, that reminds me of that old place in that other level, maybe this ability can get me there now" And the next level is my favourite level in the whole series. The one you mentioned that people generally don't like. It's absolutely for all the reasons I mentioned above :D
I totally agree, I love how everything is connected. It’s one of my favorite parts of this game, and the next level blew my mind on my first play through as a kid. To this day, it’s still one of my favorite levels
You can always tell if it's Jon or Lucah playing, because Jon never gives a thought to what kind of eggs he picks up, where Lucah always tries to grab ones that she's recently used.
The thing with king jingaling talking about terry actually comes after hes zombified, he'll somtimes talk about certain bosses when you wait in his throne room, he talks about old king coal, says targitzan has a terrible temper, warns you about stompadon, and mentions he sometimes goes fishing with lord woo fak fak.
Spiral Mountain - Cheato trade. Isle O' Hags wooded hollow - destroy-able slab in egg shed (not sure if it's useful depending on how the 3 S n' S 2 eggs are done) Glitter Gulch Mine - waterfall near the crushing shed. Jolly Roger's Lagoon - Tiptup's unborn child. Unobtainables: JRL - warm the piggies' pool. Cliff Top - Bird tracks near Jamjars' shortcut silo. TDL - Banjo crosses the stomping plains, Dippy seeks a beverage. Basement waste disposal - Jiggy Secret Codes - [received from Madame Grunty in Witchyworld] and "An egg container followed by Jingaling?" interestingly, each of the 4 eggs has the potential to be the biggest child depending on which one is hatched last. roaring with the Baby T-rex is quite obtuse, it's so unique and sort of makes sense from a world building POV but realistically i don't think i could ever defend it.
Yeah I loved Tooie as a kid. Was probably my favorite game growing up tbh. I do understand the frustrations people can have with this game, but they never bothered me that much. I guess looking back, it was the first thing I played that follows the metroidvania gameplay design. I loved (and still love) exploring new worlds, then going back to the old areas with my new moves or abilities to find even more things to get even further. I also ended up beating Tooie before Kazooie as a kid funnily enough. Mostly because there were more things in Kazooie that scared me as a kid and I'd take month or year long breaks before I tried to play again HAHA (mostly just anything to do with water. Water sections traumatized me between Mario 64 and Kazooie).
5:15 I guess that’s an advantage to seeing the big T-Rex first. You know that the Baby T-Rex should be capable of roaring; you just have to learn how. And that’s where it gets unintuitive. 9:13 There’s your hint. I honestly forgot about this world connection, but it makes sense. Gotta come back at a later time. 10:55 And you hit one of the nails on the head as to why Terrydactyland is one of the two most detested worlds in this game in my book. GGM has this same problem where everything looks smart with very few landmarks to help you get your bearings…but Terrydactyland is huge AND samey. Witchyworld and Mayahem Mayhem did not have this problem, and while Atlantis sort of does, there’s a lot of dead ends and not really a central hub. Plus you have the town area which is pretty memorable. The music does not really help either with how low energy it is compared to the other worlds. I love Grant’s works and I say this with the utmost respect for everything he’s done: this is the weakest composition in the game which is still very good. It just does not make Terrydactyland good either. 13:00 So that likely answers my question about falling off the top of CCW being instant death. 20:12 The only thing that would’ve made Stomponadon better is if each stomp came with the Monty Python fart sound effect. 36:10 Too bad, she has at least one more egg to see!
35:00 Fun fact about falling with the Pack Whack - while just Pack Whacking after a fall resets your fall damage, jumping out of a Pack Whack will actually revert your fall damage back to when you first jumped! At least, on the N64 version.
Pretty sure this changes based on region, or even version(consider Ocarina of Time got a minor revision on the n64 as well), as in my n64 version its reversed. That is, the Pack Whack only keeps the fall damage buildup but jumping resets it.
Baby T-Rex learning how to roar is, quite possibly, the most obscure thing in the entire game. Some of the enemies are non-hostile to the baby, and you can talk to them to learn vital information. On the Stomping Plains: Jon's right that crossing with Banjo needs something you haven't learned yet. To cross as a pair, you can cross with just Talon Trot, but you need excellent timing to make it across (or the fourth cheat from Cheato - incidentally, you can unlock the third cheat now) without using Wonderwing. There are a couple of things you can do as baby T-Rex once you've learned how to roar. The missing cave is near the flight pad. If you start from the warp pad outside Humba's, and face the train station switch and Dippy's cave, there's a big tunnel to your right and low, which leads through to the area with the flight pad pillar. As you come out of the tunnel, there's a ledge immediately to your right you can jump up onto with a regular jump and walk along to get to the cave on your right. Or if you want to start from the flight pad pillar, if you pretend you're coming with the springy shoes to jump onto it, but instead run past it, you should be looking directly at a ramp up to the cave that's too steep for Banjo, but Talon Trot (or solo Kazooie) works fine. There's one jiggy in this level that you can't get yet, but you should be able to finish the rest of the totals - the other thing you can't do yet is credited to another level's totals.
i love the Stomping Plains area! it’s so ominous and foreboding, and then you can just whip out Wonderwing and play this goofy music all the way through~ so cool
I completely forgot that you have to talk to a dino enemy to lear how to roar as baby t-rex. That's probably the dumbest and most unclear thing in the game.
Hello I am coming here to defend this game as one of my favorites! I love both Kazooie and Tooie equally for different reasons! I really don’t think I would have had such a love for video games without this one!
I admit, it's a bit silly how you don't learn how to roar right away as a baby Dino. Also, check out the cave closest to the flight pad. Remaining collectible requirements and locations (for sake of helping Lucah and Jon) **Spiral Mountain/Isle O' Hags** Cheato's Pages: Return 5 pages for a new cheat **Mayahem Temple** Complete! **Glitter Gulch Mine** *Jiggies: 1* Behind the Waterfall (Springy-step required) **Witchyworld** Complete! **Jolly Roger's Lagoon** *Jiggies: 2* 1. Piglets' Pool (Requires World 7 and 8 trigger) **Terrydactyland** *Jiggies: 3* 1: Help Styracosaurus Family (1/3) 2: Code of the Dinosaurs 3: Dippy's Pool (Requires World 8 Trigger) *Cheato Pages: 1* Inside the Mountain *Extra Honeycomb Pieces: 1* Styracosaurus Family Cave *Other* Cross Stomping Plains with Banjo (Nap Pack Required)
Regarding Terry's eggs: whichever one you hatch last will be the one with the big baby in it. All of the eggs are accessible with Banjo solo of course so it doesn't really matter which one you hatch last, but knowing ahead of time that you'll need to do this it helps to leave the one just under Terry's nest inside the mountain for last as it's so close to the delivery destination. It's one of the few things in this game that seems like it might be a random element set when you start the file (like Jinjo colors, or which fish contained which prizes in JRL, etc.) but actually isn't.
10:54 That's my biggest problem with this world: everything looks the same. It's the easiest world to get lost in, and it's hard to find specific places. And of course my *other* biggest problem with this world is the Styracosaurus quest, just cause it's pointlessly long and tedious
I feel like it still isn't too bad because it's literally just a circle. if you can't find something, you can just keep walking the perimeter of the circle until you find it.
I’m pretty sure enough people have said how the baby T-Rex can roar but the one cave with the stegosaurus family can be done in one setting, it requires the train and Mumbo plays a major role in it.
I still believe in miracles I swear I’ve seen a few, And I know there’ll come a day when you can see my point of view, I believe in songs and laughter and that’s why I believe in yoooooouuuu!
Jon: I'll be on the lookout for the caves we missed! (As he passes the Styracosaurus cave, which he continues to do over and over and over again for the rest of the episode.)
Last jinjo: comeback after grunt industries; both banjo and kazooie switches can not be pressed with out 2 more moves Jiggy 8: dinosaur without water, after last world only Jiggy 9: the small dinosaur passage, talk as baby Dino with the any of the enemy dinos walking around to learn the ability to roar Go to cave, learn the code, get the cheato page Jiggy 10: the family of dinos in the cave. The cave is located around the flying pad. Reached by the floor level Last honeycomb is in there too. Daddy Dino can not use the tele transport pads and can not go to stomping plains.
To see Jon getting so frustrated with the game saddens me a little, thankfully Reese is there to cheer him up ^^ I hope she can still find a way to see the good in the game even if Jon doesn't like it. And honestly there is no reason to go for completion, they can always leave when they start to get tired of a world and move on to the next. Speaking of, I know Grunty Industries is not very liked but I always enjoyed it. It feels like a gigantic puzzle-box that you have to slowly untangle.
I don't blame y'all for not knowing how the Baby T-Rex works on the get-go but, you have to learn how to roar from one of the stegosaurus enemies. Hence the code of the dinosaurs. This had me stumped my first time too.
So, This was one of the first games I played as a child, it was hard, but as a kid I loved exploring, so maybe that's why now I have a good map memory, because now I see this world is very big and confusing but somehow I didn't get loss as a child. Seen from this fresh perspective and from someone that doesn't play many 3D platformers and someone that didn't like it that much made me see how hard this really can be. Maybe it's because when you are a kid you just wander off and find stuff, but as an adult one expect to undrstand everything right away. Not making excuses for that baby T-rex stuff, it's really weird that you have to talk to other dinosaurs, again, as a kid you just go arround looking for stuff.
GI is a level that will frustrate you the first time around, but once you learn it you get to appreciate it. Unfortunately, it is still home to some of the most notorious jiggies in the game (Clinker's Cavern, Quality Control).
I actually found out how to roar as the baby dinosaur by accident. In fact, for a while I never even knew that you could possibly NOT be able to roar even if you knew how. However what was much more difficult was that path behind the wall to the last egg. I've played this game a few times and STILL don't think to look there. Even though I like Tooie better than Kazooie, it took a while for me to get to that conclusion. I feel like if Jon had played it again as a kid and gotten to know the worlds a little better, maybe he would have liked it more. Also, I am one of those who does like the next world, quite a bit actually. But again, it's going to be a slow start. Just figuring out how to navigate before even getting the jiggies. You have to be ok with the fact that you might not get your first jiggy for awhile, but don't worry that you aren't making progress. Even in this video, you made some pretty good progress. You've now seen everywhere in Terrydactyland! Even if you haven't been everywhere you've seen.
To be honest, I feel like the complaint that Tooie is "too much game" doesn't really hold water anymore after over twenty years without a proper sequel. Now it's more like "Enjoy it while you can".
Honestly, the complaint was just people who wanted another SM64 clone instead of a full-fledged Metroidvania. It wasn't just too much, it was just more than what most people were looking for in a _Banjo-Kazooie_ sequel. Which is especially weird when you consider that this was still during the "a game needs to last you as many months as possible, who _knows_ when you'll be able to buy another one" era, too... How bizarre, in retrospect.
@@MrOmegatronic Honestly, the only people who hate it are people like ProtonJon. People who buy hundreds of games a month. Picks a handful to play through. Doesn’t have time for the really big games. Hence why Jon hates playing Tooie and RPGs. They “take too long”.
So, for the Stomping Plains, I've seen another player make it through with Banjo without the new sack move. As the player walked forward with Banjo, before the Leg starts to drop down, player jumps in the air with Banjo, and then just as the Leg drops down, the player makes Banjo air-jump in the opposite direction and completely avoids getting stomped on. Basically, use Banjo to air-jump away from the Leg just as it's going down and you should be able to avoid it each time, but it does take a lot of timing.
I honestly really like all the different characters, interconnected worlds, much better bosses, new abilities and ideas within Tooie. It feels like a natural sequel with a great new adventure after what was already a fantastic standalone first game. It also helps that Grant provided another top notch soundtrack with all the travelling around the worlds. I feel like a platformer of this scale and complexity would never be made today by Rare so I really appreciate this game happened. Similar to DK64, that game also has issues with big confusing worlds with so much to collect but it's so creative and entertaining with all the funny characters and abilities that I don't think it bothers me too much. As the game goes on, it does start to outstay it's welcome a bit, particularly the next world but I also kind of admire how masterfully designed it is, even if Rare gets carried away. I bet Rare definitely felt some pressure to make a bigger and better sequel, and in some ways I think they succeeded even if nowadays it feels a bit bloated. Your certainly getting value for money for content if you were a platformer fan back in the day, even if moment to moment it's not quite as focused and to the point as the original. I am kind of convinced that the developers intended for you to use the ice eggs to freeze the enemy in place to stop it attacking you and falling down the pit. Considering the fire pits come back and they want you to have them equipped, I wouldn't be surprised if they wanted to create a situation where you had to freeze an enemy to get around because the enemy really goes after you right over the pit. You rarely ever actually need to freeze enemies so there's at least a practical use for them in that room. Doesn't stop it from being a first time trap and they could spawn you back in that room in case you fall into the bottomless pit, but I guess they thought there needed to be a challenge and consequence to dying now lives were removed. Also it's a small thing but the invisible wall at the top of the stage was also pretty notable in Click Clock Woods in the original.
So.. I remember this world at the back of my hand due to playing in Dino land a lot when I was younger, but that puzzle for the small T-rex to learn how to roar is dumb as I only found that by accident years back. Nothing tells you where to learn how to roar or even being able to talk to the bad dinos. If I want to make a huge stretch on what “could” be seen as a “hint” I imagine the sign that tells you about the language of the dinosaurs could be a hint of talking to a certain dinosaur, but that is such a stretch specially when you are like me when I was young of not bothering to read anything.
5:15 Ah yes, almost forgot that since you're a baby a fellow dinosaur around the street has to teach you how to roar. 9:36 Nice, you're supposed to grab this page when this pool is full of water and yep, Jon's correct about it tying into another world and Kazooie giving you a clue about it. 12:58 Fall damage is really something in Banjo-Kazooie, but even more so in Tooie as we've seen here because the worlds are huge. 17:40 You got stuck in the world's ceiling, I've never had this specific issue since I always used the Beak Buster, i.e. the ground pound, to land. 23:26 I don't remember how I did this as Banjo and Kazooie since I don't think I used Wonderwing despite it clearly being the intended way... 24:37 ... by the way, Stomponadon reduces your health to 1 and only then it kills you so this actually matters... 25:03 ... but yes, you can't finish this now because it's impossible to do it as just Banjo without a move from a later world. 28:31 Honestly not for the rest of the series, but as a special episode I wouldn't mind Lucah just doing that. Anyway, I believe in you Jon!
Everytime I hear “good intentions”, I can’t help but think of when Ned Flanders gets actually super mad and goes off on his little tirade against Springfield for a few minutes.
The Styracosaurus cave is next to wumba and the spring shoes, you keep looking at it everytime you jump to the flight pad but you never acknowledged it.
Yeah, finding the baby T-Rex roaring can be a bit annoying since there is no explanation on where to get it. As mentioned, the idea for first timers is to go explore as the baby to run into one of the stegosaurus minions (sorry for spoiling, but I’d hate for y’all to get stuck). As for Stomponadon, you can get through with Banjo-Kazooie with the right timing obviously when Talon Trotting, but yeah doing it with the Wonderwing is infinitely better and saves time when you can run straight through instead of hiding in the footprints.
If there is ONE thing about this game I always remember, is always remembered first of anything this game has to offer... It is the Stomping Plains. FUCK the Stomping Plains
Aaah the mondays (which are strangely saturdays for me) are absolutely a crappy time for me, almost always. But thankfully, Lucahjon are here with my comfort game to make me feel better! Thanks again for doing this! This is honestly the highlight of my weeks. And yeah, Lucah is a big fan or Barbie (like I am, I loved the Barbie LPs the most, with Zero Escape and Banjo) and she does indeed like bad things. I won't be surprised if she ends up liking GI. xD Even more so because I know it got a lot of poop and underwear which Reese likes a lot.
Like Captin Blackeye, Stomponadon is another character who originated in Project Dream, behaving the exact same as a dinosaur's foot that you would have to avoid through timing and movement (just in 2d within Project Dream instead of 3d like in Tooie).
I played Banjo Tooie before Banjo Kazooie as a kid and loved it. I didn’t mind the huge sprawling worlds because I was looking for a game which I could spend hours adventuring in. Watching it as part of this let’s play now I can definitely recognise that this level is far too big and confusing. Without touching the level design I think even just a simple change like having signs outside the numerous almost identical caves would go a long way to fixing things. Ultimately though I think Rare could have probably found a good middle ground in size between BK and BT and a lot more people would have been fans.
I love Tooie to death as a Tooie defender but sometimes *sigh* it can be just a little frustrating. I knew I had to learn how to roar just from faffing as the Baby. It's kind of like how Xenoblade sometimes doesn't tell you where you need to go exactly so you spend hours wandering the titans only to find it was this ONE specific part that you had to swim to. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 players will know what I'm talking about...
@@twindragons4590 It's getting from Garfont Village to Fonsa Myma. You COULD follow the path but it goes into a watery area that you have to go around a roundabout way to get to Fonsa Myma.
@@KlaviceGavin OH! Yeah I remember that getting me the first time I played. Thank god they are updating the quest tracker with an actual line to follow now 😅
@@twindragons4590 Really?! They're actually making the OG game like Torna to celebrate XC3 or is this something that's been around forever? @@KlaviceGavin My apologies, I should’ve chosen my words more carefully. I meant that they were going to rectify it in the sequel. I wish they would change it in 2 for convenience though. I don’t know how far you’re in the game yet, but unfortunately the quest tracking doesn’t get any better. The reason I mentioned gormott earlier is because I always get lost looking to reach the dock area in the back. It’s probably not even that hard but I get turned around pretty easily lol
Am I the only one who half-expected the classic Jon rendition of 'GAAAAAMMMMEEEE!!!!' to come out when he ran into headache with the jumps? XD but in all seriousness, I beileve in Jon.
Yes Reese, fiery poop happens in Sonic 2. But it comes from Dr. Eggman of all people, in the post-credits scene. Trust me it’s there, go see it for yourself, believe in me as much as I believe in Jon!
Lucahjin: So what are you telling me? When he learns a new move, he will be able to outrun the Stomponadon? ProtonJon: No, Lucah. I'm telling you that when he's ready, he won't have to.
A thirsty dino is hard to bare, If only water came from the air Mystery triceratops Has missed out on her stop. Banjo can't cross the stomping Rex. Looks like he needs a little rest. (There is no fitting rhyme)
Yup, hate to be the angel of ill providence, but for the next most infamous world it is VERY common to spend over an hour there and not get even a single Jiggy. It's an extremely infamous stage, some call it Rusty Bucket Bay 2-not in the sense you'll die a lot, but in the sense of it being unwieldy. The whoooooole place is full of things to unlock that only indirectly lead to progression. It's one giant gauntlet puzzle box. You start getting Jiggies back-to-back once everything is explored and unlocked, but that takes a WHILE....PLEASE GET READY TO USE A GUIDE lmao It's easily my favorite world in BK or BT. :) But I'm a masochist, and I just really admire the very intricate and complex level design, despite it being a pain in the ass. Also won't say how much in case you'd rather not know, but Tooie lets you skip a LOT of Jiggies and still beat the game. Don't get discouraged, beating Tooie won't be an issue for you guys, you have a lot of leeway. Just skip everything you find too tedious and you'll be golden.
Since a bunch of comments mention how to learn how to roar as a baby T-Rex (which is super annoying and a bit unintuitive), I'll let you know where the cave you haven't gone to yet. It's near the flight pad. There's a slope along the inner wall up to the cave. Also, if you go through the huge orangeish/yellowish tunnel kinda behind Humba's, you'll be to the left of the cave. There's a narrow path against the wall that you can take to the cave. Yeah, the next world is annoying. Can be fun in some spots but otherwise frustrating. It's also home of something dumb that I couldn't figure out what to do for years. Can't wait to share that story. 😂

Yeah this game... this is the kind of game that would make that happen.
@@weregretohio7728 it's not the game's fault he jumps into a flying enemy two times in a row, man.
Learning how to roar as babby T-Rex is definitely one of the most unintuitive things in the game, since nothing would indicate that the enemies would do anything other than continue to be enemies when you're transformed
Lol and speaking of figuring things out, as a kid it never occurred to me that you could shoot ice eggs to put out the fires in the room before the Stomping Plains, so instead, I just maneuvered around the edges of the fire platforms. ...Yeah, I had several deaths in that room XD

Poor Jon, you may want to leave,
But I say *“You must believe!”*
Trials are tough, and death is bad,
But believing will feel rad!
Gird your loins with much belief,
Then you will find much relief.
But if these words fail you too,
Just know we believe in you.
You’d have to be a massive jerk to condone harming a recently-born baby.
Things you're missing:
- To learn how to roar as baby T Rex you need to talk to the enemy dinos
- The secret code of the dinosaurs is on a sign you haven't found yet
- The cave you're missing is directly in front of the flight pad when you reach it with the boots.
With that, you should be done with this world until you need to backtrack with new abilities
When you're the baby dino, go talk to one of the wandering baddies.
Was not expecting to see you here
Seeing that mumbo pad can make you feel as though you have to use it before seeing wumba
They should've hidden a switch to spawn the Mumbo pad behind a baby door, but alas, they probably wanted to make it more open to speedrunners or something. I know some companies did that back then, even before speedrunning became a thing.
I'm still confused. Playing as the baby before playing as the big T Rex means the baby can roar?
@@tinmandw no
I actually do remember Jon saying how he didnt like Tooie back in the BK playthrough, and I was surprised he agreed to do this LP.
Grunty Industries holds a weird, special place in my heart, but there's so much convoluted crap in there, I can see why a lot of people hate it
the cave you guys missed was the one directly in front of the flight pad every time you went to jump up to it
and as other people have said, go talk to one of the enemies as baby T
i believe the only things left for later will be the water for dippy and getting past the stomping plains as banjo
Always been a fan of a game showing you something you can't get to and then when you unlock the ability later you're like "Hmm, that reminds me of that old place in that other level, maybe this ability can get me there now"
And the next level is my favourite level in the whole series.
I played this way more than the first one growing up. I love them both and still have a bigger soft spot for Tooie even if it hasn't aged well.
You can always tell if it's Jon or Lucah playing, because Jon never gives a thought to what kind of eggs he picks up, where Lucah always tries to grab ones that she's recently used.
he also seems to be a little more reckless, leading to him dying multiple times from a pterodactyl
When she took over for that path with the two flaming platforms, she waited for the mechanical bomb eggs.
@@sarafontanini7051 And also leading to him getting a lot of self-inflicted explosion damage.
The baby t-rex has to learn how to roar. Maybe some other dinos know how to roar or something.
Isle O' Hags wooded hollow - destroy-able slab in egg shed (not sure if it's useful depending on how the 3 S n' S 2 eggs are done)
Glitter Gulch Mine - waterfall near the crushing shed.
Jolly Roger's Lagoon - Tiptup's unborn child.
Unobtainables: JRL - warm the piggies' pool. Cliff Top - Bird tracks near Jamjars' shortcut silo. TDL - Banjo crosses the stomping plains, Dippy seeks a beverage. Basement waste disposal - Jiggy
Secret Codes - [received from Madame Grunty in Witchyworld] and "An egg container followed by Jingaling?"
interestingly, each of the 4 eggs has the potential to be the biggest child depending on which one is hatched last.
roaring with the Baby T-rex is quite obtuse, it's so unique and sort of makes sense from a world building POV but realistically i don't think i could ever defend it.
For me it was the guards in OoT. To this day, certain stealth sections make me super anxious. Hello, Tomb Raider.
In this episode, Banjo experiences… A Long Fall.
*The Twinning.mp4 intensifies*
Lucah: “I like bad things”
I can only imagine John been her husband sitting there like 👁👄👁
I completely forgot that you have to talk to a dino enemy to lear how to roar as baby t-rex.

I forgot how many boss-like intros this world had
33:52 Note one of the few lines Kazooie isn't willing to cross.
Isn’t ***
Finally, concrete proof that Kazooie isn’t as bad as Darth Vader became.
Pointlessly long, tedious, and full of blandness. Really sums up this game as a whole.
Don't believe in yourself, believe in the me that believes in you!

Jiggy 10: the family of dinos in the cave. The cave is located around the flying pad. Reached by the floor level
Last honeycomb is in there too.
Sonic does not poop fire in the movie, but you could consider the fact that he did, but he was so fast that nobody saw.
I believe in Jon btw!
When you gotta go, you gotta go fast.
"Nobody'll know. By the time they find out, I'll be miles from here!"
I don't blame y'all for not knowing how the Baby T-Rex works on the get-go but, you have to learn how to roar from one of the stegosaurus enemies. Hence the code of the dinosaurs. This had me stumped my first time too.
oh man i was literally refreshing my feed earlier today wondering if there would be a new episode, thank you for lifting my mood
Haters gonna hate, but I like Grunty Industries. I like the difficulty and how much it makes you think
GI is a level that will frustrate you the first time around, but once you learn it you get to appreciate it.
Unfortunately, it is still home to some of the most notorious jiggies in the game (Clinker's Cavern, Quality Control).
I dont mind the level its just first person area can go rot .
@@bluestorm1990 Agreed. That section of the level does kind of suck. While we're at it: screw the dynamite section of Glitter Gulch
helping Dippy is another thing that you'll do from another world, just to say that
As the baby T-Rex, you should try to see what the other dinos around the land have to say.
The answer to the stompy foot is a healing move that only Bando get.
To be honest, I feel like the complaint that Tooie is "too much game" doesn't really hold water anymore after over twenty years without a proper sequel. Now it's more like "Enjoy it while you can".
This game really weeds out the fake and casual gamers.
A real hardcore gamer would never say something so weak as “too much game”.
It's almost like you should improve upon a sequel rather than make the same game, which is what a lot of BK purists seem to want.
@@user-be1be8dl1q That's a weirdly gatekeepy take and makes no goddamn sense.
I believe in the Jon that believes in me.
Yeah, the Stomping Plains highlights the one main drawback to Dragon Kazooie: She's slower.
If you want to see what I'm talking about, here's a link to the video... th-cam.com/video/tyzNvGndyfA/w-d-xo.html
Believe in the me that believes in you John!
We all believe in you, Jon! Bad days happen to the best of us. Don't let it get you down too much.
Sending love to you and Jon. This playthrough has been helping me through a really rough time. I hope you two are also taking care of yourselves.

12:05 Attention Lucah and Jon, you have enough Cheato Pages for a new cheat. Hope that cheers you up
5:15 Ah yes, almost forgot that since you're a baby a fellow dinosaur around the street has to teach you how to roar.
I believe in you Jon! And Lucah!
The Styracosaurus cave is next to wumba and the spring shoes, you keep looking at it everytime you jump to the flight pad but you never acknowledged it.
"I believe in you Chad! But I also believe in elves."
We believe!
yeah this is my childhood game, sad you guys aren't enjoying it as much
Yeah, finding the baby T-Rex roaring can be a bit annoying since there is no explanation on where to get it. As mentioned, the idea for first timers is to go explore as the baby to run into one of the stegosaurus minions (sorry for spoiling, but I’d hate for y’all to get stuck).
As for Stomponadon, you can get through with Banjo-Kazooie with the right timing obviously when Talon Trotting, but yeah doing it with the Wonderwing is infinitely better and saves time when you can run straight through instead of hiding in the footprints.
i believe. in you jon
I believe in you, Jon!
Hope Jon’s stomach pain didn’t last too long and he felt better quickly!
I am one of the defenders of tooie... I loved it more than kazooie... was disappointed we never got the true threeie...
16:14 Jon gets pissed off because he did the exact opposite of what Lucah said.
You're doing great, Jon!!!!!!!!
God i dont know why. But banjo with the stuffed backpack just looks like an uber eats worker. Just with a blue bag
In the first 30 seconds Jon and Lucah show off 2 types of "poppers!" 🙃
I’m here two weeks late to this pre recorded episode to inform Jon that today and all days he fucking rules.
I believe in you Jon
You have to be baby tree and talk to the random dinosaurs walking around and one teaches. You how to roar.
I’ve played xenoblade chronicles 2 four times over and I have no idea what you’re referring to. Is it a place on gormott?

We believe in you Jon!
A thirsty dino is hard to bare,
If only water came from the air
Mystery triceratops
Has missed out on her stop.
You start getting Jiggies back-to-back once everything is explored and unlocked, but that takes a WHILE....PLEASE GET READY TO USE A GUIDE lmao
It's easily my favorite world in BK or BT.
I never played any of the Banjo Kazooie games, as a kid. But, I have fond memories, of playing my N64. Great library none the less.
Ngl
The stomping plains is the best part of this world
And one of the best parts of the game
You have to talk to the dinosaurs to learn how to roar
Luca and Jon vs Bonfire Cavern is hilarious.
