This car was converted by a company called GCS Bennemann from Herzogenrath ( Germany ). GCS also restored Mercedes-Benz in the days. I met Günther Bennemann a long while ago. GCS were the first to convert widebody SEC Convertibles directly for Willy KOENIG. Later Koenig 500 SEC Convertible cars were made by SGS...
Ahh that's awesome info! Checks out since the dash says GCS. Do you know any more about the SEC Cabriolets by Koenig? No clear numbers that we've seen, but it seems like only a handful were built
@@PatinaCollective G.C.S. Automobilhandel GmbH did convert 41 C126 Coupes into convertibles. 3 of those conversions also had a hardtop with a sunroof (!). It looked almost the same as the coupe. The number converted for Koenig probably a handfull.. Later on Design and Technik ( former SGS ) also started converting C126 for Koenig. The black car C126 Keonig Convertible in your collection is an SGS onversion.... GCS also converted 9 W126 4-door limousines into convertibles. One of the survivors was for sale in Pakistan a while ago...

I think the Koenig is Ex Wilfried Pick from Felsberg/Germany. He Owns the Car over 30 Years. I had good memories with the Car…
