Very true. British stole trillions from India..... Of course now the UK is sinking ever deeper into poverty.
Freedom for the people of Gabon
Africa in general, West Africa in particular are tired of the West and their neo-colonialism system. As an African, am proud of those people who are saying and continue to say enough is enough to West and their corrupt African leaders). France, pls Leave Africa for Africans!
Watching from Zimbabwe 🇿🇼
Gabon
🇬🇦 royal family rule for 56 years 😊😅😂🎉 now he’s crying in his office lol 😂 and the France 🇫🇷 is crying 😿
New heroes rising to help free Africa.
😂😂😂😂😂 russia is the new colonial master. Their freedom is crushed under russian boots 👢
You depends on security guards to enjoy power but step on their own benefits oh African leaders
Oh yeah i bet everybody is worried about democracy and definitely not the oil 🙄
😂😂😂😅
What democracy? The Gabon was ruled by western puppet dictator for about 60years since the day west pretended to end the colonialism
And you are right about oil. USA gov official press release in response to coup mentions oil three times before mentioning Gabon once
If Russia and the US express concern, it means that the coup is right.
wow high level political analysis from a genius... (sarcasm)
You cannot say people are wrong when they are celebrating like this they know what they went through!....
Its a cycle, a despot rules, a coup unseats him, the people celebrate, then the new leader becomes as despotic as the old one, then gets removed via a coup, the people celebrate and so on.
One Africa!✊✊
Rise Africa Rise
God bless the People of Gabon & well done 👏🏾✊🏾🙏🏾
They found billions of dollars or francs in his son's house. How can they explain that family of thieves' actions? They're good and gone!
Western democracy!
Bribes. Corruption.
One family in power for 50 yrs is ridiculous. Ditto for Syria, North Korea, etc.
From Uganda, we stand with our brothers & sisters in Gabon.
Independence day for them
You stand for being occupied by russia?
Your military should take action too how can that man stay in power for such a long time
@FirstLast-fg2ll
You're right, I do.
And what is it with the Russia excitement anyway?
If they so wish, why can't Russia "occupy" if France has done & continues to do so?
Guess it's in their best interest choosing their "colonizer", no?

I literally don’t know anything of Gabon. Normally, the ousting of elected officials by the military is a bad thing. But after seeing the people of Gabon cheering and celebrating on the streets, it should tell you a thing or two about the current ruling political dynasty.
All these ooups only happen in former French colonies.
Are they really former? Their independence is on paper not in practice.
8 only?? We should have had like 50 by now...any African leaders working for the interest of the west should face the same
Good Job Gabon 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🇺🇸

The dictator needs to be put on trial for murder and corruption against his own people.
Then they should lose American/western funding.
They want to be self self-sufficient and separate from the west that’s fine. We could use that money Especially here in the United States for things like socialized healthcare and education.
Who said they have that? They ain't on anyone's side
They don't need your funding! A country with a little over 2 million people a member of Opec shouldn't need no funding.

Corruption politicians on the verge of absurdity 😂 in Africa.
They condemn the coup, would they condemn a coup if the North Koreans had a coup? That's one family ruling the country for 55 years and the other country has had one family rule the nation since the 50's. HYPOCRISY
As usual the US is concerned about oil not the people 😂
Tell me who isn't?
it's not the oil, its the revenue from the oil companies they want.

How EU, AU and some west africans countries are 'concerned' about a coup against a family in power like half a century? Is this the 'democracy' they talk about?

Exactly
The US is “ deeply concerned about the unrest in the oil producing country” made my day 😂😂😂😂

There was the same thing in Thailand years ago. Back when they called themselves the 5th Tiger of Asia. A few years ago, one of their ministry called their policy a Flea.
But Africa cultures are different. Maybe they can become something better. Just don't make it worse.
I think the biggest thing about Africa is European exploitation is way more obvious and the channel in which they do is monopolized by people in power. It's a very difficult power play between economic, military, and cultural influence.
I wonder how I would feel if I was born in these countries and came to realize that they are still kinda ruled by France.....
Ask me. It's common knowledge, there is no moment of realisation, you just know it from the moment you can think. And at the same time, it is dangerous to talk politics, even in the living room with your family.

So who do you think fills that gap in your model? Some Middle East countries can’t even figure out how to provide women’s rights to their own citizens. And have essentially allowed imported slave labor to go on for decades. So…”yay”?
The West has created anything good in their lives. Phones, cars, medicines, etc.

Sure. Every legit president is a western puppet and military commit coups are the goodies
