There is a level of intimacy that we can experience with God that can only happen in trials and total surrender to Him.
I love the Martins. I remember being in the thick of it, broken and hurt, going to bed asking God a question. At about 3:30 am He woke me with He Leadeth Me playing in my heart. Precious, our Lord is so sweet, so so sweet.
I appreciate their willingness to be open and honest about their struggles, especially Joyce. It isn't easy to open up but there will be so many who are struggling that can see the hope found in Jesus.
A former pastor of mine Rev. David Knight preached a sermon many years ago & said, “Faith is formed in the fire.” It is not what we want to hear, but it is so true.
I announced my coming divorce and testified in my church because I felt that weight of “judgment” that I might receive from church members. And praise God….He gave me that strength and people surrounded me with their love and prayers.

I was living in Alaska at the time and was down in Ohio visiting my mom and dad. They had really fallen in love with the Gaither videos. I first saw these kids during that visit. I do believe the music began my search for a way back to the Lord. I am so thankful for God's music and how He uses it to speak to His people.

I have every cassette, of theirs plus soundtracks. You can't beat family harmony. I loved it when we booked and had them at Gospel music TV in Pigeon Forge. 🙏🏻✝️ I pray they will continue on singing & winning folks to Christ.

The Martins are friends of mine, my favorite singers, and truly some of the most down to earth, sweetest people I’ve never met. Their stories inspire me and their music has helped me through some of the darkest times of my life. I had the opportunity to hear you when you were so young that your mother was traveling with you. It was in a little country church somewhere in Soddy Daisy, TN. You were and have been a blessing to me since. Hugs and prayers.
I was a little older than Joyce’s kids when she left them. I remember feeling heartbroken for them, especially the little girl who had special needs ❤️ they attended our church for years. Her ex husband passed away a few years ago, he was a really sweet man, thankful he got his life back in line with the Lord after all they went through. Find it odd that she didn’t mention his passing. He was a great dad to those kids and it really was a miracle given the situation they were left in.

Joni please don’t try to make someone else’s divorce story justify what you did with Doug. He had zero biblical grounds for divorce and you should have waited to marry him. I still don’t see what the rush was. He will never be yours. He belongs to his first wife biblically. He should man up and just confess his sin of dumping his wife so that he could be with you. At least that would be honest.
