As somebody who had entirely too much fun watching Anthony get cooked for a whole season, I am absolutely ecstatic to see Penelope go to war on Colin, that man’s whole world is about to be torn asunder
When i learned that polin was gonna be season 3 I was like "Eh, ok, better get it out of the way now", kinda nonplussed about it, but as promo material and info came out about it i became more and more invested and now I am gagged for them. I can't wait
LITERALLY ME. I initially passed off s3 when I heard it would be about polin, and I just thought that atleast we'd get kanthony subplot- BUT NOW, I'm freaking out about 10 second clips about polin.
I was disappointed at first just because Benedict is my number one but I got over it fast because it’s an extremely trivial thing to stay upset about. Also I had always kept an open mind to Colin/Penelope winning me over because I wasn’t an Anthony fan in season 1 but LOVED his love story in season 2. 🥳🥰❤️🔥
the problem with what colin said is not the fact that he said "i would never court penelope featherington". it's the larger context within which he says this. the featheringtons already have a bad rep amongst the ton, and the bridgertons are their most closely allied family. colin in particular, has been friends and has known penelope throughout the years that she has been friends with eloise. the bridgertons are a viscountcy, the featheringtons are a baronetcy (the lowest peerage rank). what colin said effectively ruined all future prospects for penelope. he, as her closest male acquaintance, makes this known to the pool of eligible gentlemen (within whom she has to marry to maintain social rank) that she is not marriage material. he has indeed made a joke out of her, at a point where her family is already considered with a fair amount of ridicule. colin has indeed ruined her prospects and its an action (in the context of regency etiquette) worthy of a tremendous amount of grovelling. in defence of colin, he doesn't even realise the extent of his blunder. to him, the idea of courting penelope is ridiculous simply because he has never taken the time to consider her as a potential wife. he's clueless about it all. which makes their plotline even better because this time around he's forced to see her as a willing participant in the marriage mart.
He said 5 mins before I’ll always protect you then did that to pen, with his friends who are eligible bachelors if he says no chance of courting her they might think what’s wrong with her. He’s a Bridgeton they would take him at his word, he could have said Im not courting her but any if you would be lucky to have her she’s a dear friend of mine, but he came across two faced. Yes he might be drunk been drinking but to be so obliviously stupid to be talking about her like that if she’s his friend.
21:52 People should definitely see 'Derry girls' to appreciate how great comedic actress Nicola is. Trust me that show is a gem. Her portrayal of Clare the lesbian teen, personification of walkin anxiety is truly iconic 😂😂
Yesssssssss, she’s so good on that show. And that’s also why I want to see Penelope cut loose in season 3. It’s really fun when Nicola doesn’t have to restrain her emotions as much in a character. 😂
Anthony is gonna catch Colin’s mishaps in s3. It's the bridgerton sibling right of passage. Anthony made Daphne's courtship hard s1, then Daphne kept catching Anthony in s2. Colin made fun of Anthony's mishaps s2. Now Anthony is gonna catch Colin s3.
Also, I spotted an excellent Penelope Bridgerton cosplay at Anime Detour this weekend. She had the right body type, the red hair wig, and fabulous regency yellow silk gown. I didn't get a chance to compliment her and ask for permission to take her picture, but oh it was WELL DONE.
Great analysis! Agreed - Pen needed the earth-shattering shift and loss of a dream (perfect Colin on a pedestal) and loss of a crutch (BFF Eloise and the protection of Bridgerton family name) in order to start her real main character journey. The premise alone is already 10x more dramatic than the book RMB and as much as the book payoff was so satisfying, I think S3 has the potential to be even more TRIUMPHANT. I'm placing my faith in Shondaland for this. This one's for the Wallflowers! Hear, hear! (As I bang my cane, a-la-Lady Danbury).
I feel like there’s also a lot of potential for a fun mix where happy Kanthony will be a soothing balm while Polin can go through as much entertaining drama as possible. 😂

Nicola Coughlan is like Super Woman to me! She can do anything. I love her! Luke Newton supporter 4life! I could get lost in Luke's blue eyes. By the way in the second clip, I noticed after Penelope puts Colin in his place in the beginning, one of the horses make a "you tell him girl" yay sound. Now when I see the show I will always notice it and remember the desire and anticipation for the show.
Lol ig I’m the only one not bothered by Colin’s lack of interest in Penelope initially. I feel like it made sense that he wasn’t seeing her in a romantic way. For one, she was his sisters best friend and two, Penelope never really said anything, she just hoped he would notice her which isn’t really his fault. Even when he told his friends he wouldn’t court her, I think that was more about him viewing her in a sisterly way than about her personally. I’m eager to see this season because he’ll finally have more opportunity to see her as a woman and not just a friend, mostly because she’s dropping the facade and being more direct.
As a theatre major, I hope you continue to make passion projects especially those in the vain of Anyone but You and discussing all the references, especially Shakespeare. But honestly, I’m sat for any of your videos and will say watching them have only made me want to see Bridgerton season 3 much more than I did before catching up on promo.
Oh I DEFINITELY have more passion project topics. It’s just that they often take longer to make so there isn’t as much of a set “schedule” for when or how often they get published. 😂🤷🏻♀️🎬

Ironically the line "I would never date penelope fetherington" does actually come from the books so that should've been a clue they were next. I'm with you, time for the trailer or at least a teaser trailer to drop. If only so I can see what some of the other characters might be up to this season as we have a lot of blanks currently, but we know what Polin will be doing

Oh my god, finally someone appreciating that Northanger Abbey adaptation the way it deserves. That final kiss is still one of my favourite on-screen kisses of all time. The giddiness, the youthfulness, the clumsy enthusiasm!
I loved that adaption, and I watch ALL the Jane Austen adaptions. Northanger Abbey is such a delight. (Though my favorite adaption may be the Indian "Bride and Prejudice!" Bollywood and Jane Austen are meant to go together.)

3:28 what makes this even worse is that he said this at her residence 😑 19:41 what’s interesting about this scene is that he says “you read and replied to my letters” whereas in the season 3 official clip: he’s convinced that she read his letters despite her non-response when he says the “if you are going to make me say it out loud” line but as he says this to her, her countenance is somewhere between enlighten me and spare me and her reaction to “I miss you” appears like she’s learning of the contents for the first time which makes me think that she didn’t open the letters at all 😂
You're probably right but admittedly I wasn't really thinking much about whether or not she was reading his letters because I always got more distracted by cheering every time I see her DRAG him 🤣🤣🤣
I really like your point of view, I'm also happy to hear you say that you won't read the book (I like this way of doing things). I honestly read it and I regret it a little because the series is built with a different dynamic that enriches the story. I especially like your reading of Penelope's growth (she changes and grows for herself, not for that empty noggin of Colin), Nicola Coughlan in my opinion is a formidable actress precisely because she managed to show all the nuances that you mentioned in video. PS I just signed up because I really like the style of your videos, congratulations because I imagine the hard work behind your videos
I just like to be surprised! There are other times where I will know the source material before watching an adaptation but for this show I just prefer getting to go in for the first time knowing less of what to expect beforehand. 👀🍿
The way I clutched my chest when you brought up JJ Field’s Henry Tilney… Northanger Abbey 2007 is one of THE best Austen adaptations and it’s so delightful to see someone else loving on it!! 🥰

Love that you opened with a pun, like a song strarting with the guitar solo! -your videos make me consume me media that makes us ferile, so i went and binged Nicola's brand new series Feel Good, which is about friendship, mental health, and Ireland and despite its name it's a lot more -while waiting for Polin i've been searching and rewatching period pieces that feature poc as leads, and Sense and Sensibility 2024 was a pleasant surprise and Mr Malcom's List a modern fucking classic -Polin hadn't caught my eye in previous seasons, but now i'm looking forward to seeing their story and your videos are a big part of why i enjoy them

Being on twitter the last few days, I realize that I might be in the minority when it comes to Bridgerton. I love it all! All the couples, the ships, side characters, pointless plots. I love the Benedict/Colin bro moments and side glances when they’re making fun of Anthony. I love the family dynamic. I especially love that it doesn’t stress me out, when so much of what goes on in the world does. That being said, I am really looking forward to S3 and Colin being dragged by Penelope. I agree with your assesment about him having to be knocked off of a pedestal that she has him on in order for them to grow into their story together. 🇵🇸
I recently had the thought that the die-hard Colin fans might not like me cracking jokes about him but in actuality… I would’ve been coming for Anthony more or less equally as much if I had been making videos about the show inbetween seasons 1 and 2. 😂 That’s why I’m just focusing harder on making it all silly and fun. I don’t want anyone thinking that this is a space to do anything other than have a good time. 😂🥳

@@LadyJeneviaI’m not sure… I think they probably released the first “mr bridgerton” clip because of the press event and because the fans were starving, and maybe they didn’t want to focus solely on the polin centric communication before they released the “passing the torch” videos and they didn’t want to gave out the mirror reference too soon in the game. But I guess we’ll have to wait how it will play out at the end to understand 👀
Hopefully we will get a S3 teaser trailer soon! I’m loving all the promo that we’ve been getting these past few days. I’m also super excited to watch Nicola’s show Big Mood. The US release date is on April 19th. It will be a great way for me to watch more of Nicola before the S3 release date!
I watched that version of northanger abbey because of you as you always clip it and I loved it so thank you, I love the book of that one Jane Austen is so funny and the film really captured the humour well I feel

Mansfield Park... I have such a love / hate relationship with that particular Jane Austen Novel. It has the best villain, and the most class commentary and sarcasm dealing with the generationally wealthy. But oh Fanny Price... Ugh. My least favorite Jane Austen heroine. Actually, my least favorite heroine of any book for ALL TIME. The whole book would have been better if they tossed Fanny down a well in chapter 3. On the other hand, some of the movie adaptions have been better in part because they give Fanny some spark and a bit of spine. The actress though did a magnificent job.
@@hilarymoonmurphy Ya know, I think it's because typically the heroine has to like learn a lesson. I think Austen was messing around with Mansfield Park because it's like...what if a bitch was correct from the jump. For that alone I kinda love it, because you keep thinking that like oh that Fanny she needs to learn about stuff, but no. She was literally correct the whole damn time about what would work for her and he intuition was 💯 and I kinda think that's a good message in a way too.
I’ve never had much an interest in Bridgerton at all, until I saw that “Mirror, Mirror” preview on X and someone posted a saucy excerpt from the Polin book. I immediately paid cash for the audiobook and finished it in two days, now I’m completely obsessed and insane for season 3 (gonna watch the other seasons soon!) 😂❤

Joy Ride! It came out in 2023 and was one of my favourites of the whole year! (If I’m remembering correctly, when I made my Top 10 Films of 2023 video I put it at number 3!) Don’t look anything up about it before you watch it because there are things that happen in it that are sooooooo much better to experience without knowing plot spoilers! 🍿 (It’s R-rated though and I don’t recommend watching it around children, the jokes get raunchy 😆)

I just love your analysis that keep me fed. I usually don't get this invested in tv shows like this (at least not in my adulthood years) but as a "spinster" myself (i met my now husband at 27yo) and a overweight wallflower (I can't explain how much I feel connected to Pen...) but... all is so keeping me connected to the story. I agree that Pen needed a breakdown to become to show her true colors. And I can't wait to see how this happens on screen because seems a bit different from the book which for me is not a problem because I get to see 2 times the same story and get surprised by it. I even have an idea to how a specific scene would be improved... I hope they have my same idea 😆
I like going in knowing as little as possible so I can be surprised by all the little twists and turns. There's always PLENTY of time during the off-season for me to start nitpicking the details, looking through the source material to make comparisons, etc. 😂

@ananyasubramani4596 yeah... of course I didn't feel "spinster" in the usual meaning of the term. But quite left out since all my friends at the time were in a relationship and who was not, had been in a relationship before. I have never been in a relationship before my husband. Surely I can't compare totally to Pen (she is even bad-ass with her double identity) but surely I feel connected to the story (and mostly any story with overweight female protagonist who are mostly under-featured).

Aww, I’ve only not watched your last Anyone But You video because I haven’t seen the movie yet! I promise! I’m all over Shakespeare modern romcom adaptations, or even just modern adaptations of classics à la Easy A. As for this vid, I appreciate your spelling out the connective storytelling features that takes the characters from supporting to leads. It’s such a significant part and yet it seems to always get overlooked after each season so far. People had doubts about Anthony as a lead, then even more so for Colin. I saw so many comments and to my surprise for the most part it seemed to be about looks first, and characterization second. Despite, broadly speaking, physical looks typically not being the primary point of focus when it comes to what attracts women. I get this is romantic fantasy, so it’s a bit different, but still so many had so little faith. Tsk Now though, I haven’t seen anything like those comments. I wonder how much that has to do with the makeover vs teasers showing their chemistry. I suppose Polin fans could be drowning out a lot, but still. Perhaps the Kanthony hangover has receded enough to make room for the next love story. Your Bridgerton videos certainly help bridge the transition. I hope you’re given recognition for that.
I still need to watch Anyone but you as well. I am just going to have to break down and pay for the streaming cost, but I am sometimes absurdly cheap on these matters. Yes I know that artists need to be paid... I just am slow to act on these things.
I love your videos. My favorite is the Kanthony Hand Stuff. This video has sooooo many cut away clips. You literally say two sentences then it cuts to the clip. It was a bit too much for me. Not trying to criticize just offering feedback.

I definitely think they’re planning things multiple seasons in advance. For Colin/Penelope in particular they HAD TO because they’ve both been on the show since the beginning.
@@LadyJeneviato be fair they didn't HAVE to for that reason, I mean Benedict has been on the show since the beginning doing the same thing over and over, so that argument could be used to get his story in the right order. I think there is more to it than just the whole 'they have been there for two seasons', but I won't go into them here because my thoughts on the real (undisclosed) reason could provide a book spoiler.

Oooooh! 2007 Northanger Abbey! Felicity Jones's Catherine Morland is the sweetest, cutest, most darling Austen heroine ever come to the screen. I love Jennifer Ehle's Lizzy Bennet, but Felicity is just SO HUGGABLE and lovable and fluffy AND SO BONNET-WEARING! Damn! I got carried away. Of course, Henry is also great in that film... He's great in the book, of course. I just love that adaptation, Felicity was the most lovable creature in the world and Henry was a charming charmer.

I have not read the books but I really hoped Penelope was going to end up with someone else. I find Colin and in fact most of Bridgerton men boring and likely STD riddled.

Penelope saying to Colin that she could not imagine him being so cruel was and is ironic to me because Penelope was cruel to Marina and to Eloise and Theo she gaslighted Eloise and to an extent Marina and then shamed them publicly as Lady Whistledown. In a way she reaped what she had sown. Also Colin book and Penelope seem nothing like show Colin and Penelope. He is described as a rake , he is no rake.

To be fair to Penelope she did speak to marina and asked her not to go after Colin and she also said that to her mother and she even tried to speak to Colin too. In an act of desperation she wrote about marinas pregnancy in LW. I don't blame her. And as for Marina she then finds out her lover has died and society knows she is ruined but she doesn't take Philips offer of marriage because she doesn't love him? But she was perfectly fine trying to trap Colin and even trying to get him to kiss her to force him to move faster to a proposal. I feel like everyone forgets Marina and what she was doing in this whole situation. She didn't need to go after Colin she could have gone after anyone if the aim was to trap them into marriage because she was pregnant. As for Eloise, she was running around after Theo and Penelope again warned her to stop. The Queen going after Eloise and threatening her and her family is what forced Penelope to write about Eloise. And she only wrote that Eloise was with crazy political people.she didn't write that she was with Theo which the servants had already been gossiping about. Penelope told Eloise that servants were talking about her and a man but she didn't write that in LW. So yeah I can understand why she did what she did. Was it right? No but she did it because of Eloise being reckless, refusing to listen to her and still going ahead and doing what she wants even after she has been warned. Noone ever listens to Penelope. It's only when she writes as LW that people listen to her. How can you then blame her for using the one tool she has at her disposal to try and manage the situation around her? I think she's been pretty restrained actually and you can tell she hasn't done it maliciously or with bad intent.
I still want to know if show-Colin is inexperienced because they've gone out of their way to show us that Anthony and Benedict are sleeping with any and every woman they feel like getting with, AND it would be a really different thing to have the leading man be inexperienced in that way.

When i learned that polin was gonna be season 3 I was like "Eh, ok, better get it out of the way now", kinda nonplussed about it, but as promo material and info came out about it i became more and more invested and now I am gagged for them. I can't wait
LITERALLY ME. I initially passed off s3 when I heard it would be about polin, and I just thought that atleast we'd get kanthony subplot- BUT NOW, I'm freaking out about 10 second clips about polin.
Just like their story, people’s love for them was a slow burn. I love it even more for that reason.

I was disappointed at first just because Benedict is my number one but I got over it fast because it’s an extremely trivial thing to stay upset about.
Also I had always kept an open mind to Colin/Penelope winning me over because I wasn’t an Anthony fan in season 1 but LOVED his love story in season 2. 🥳🥰❤️🔥
the problem with what colin said is not the fact that he said "i would never court penelope featherington". it's the larger context within which he says this. the featheringtons already have a bad rep amongst the ton, and the bridgertons are their most closely allied family. colin in particular, has been friends and has known penelope throughout the years that she has been friends with eloise. the bridgertons are a viscountcy, the featheringtons are a baronetcy (the lowest peerage rank). what colin said effectively ruined all future prospects for penelope. he, as her closest male acquaintance, makes this known to the pool of eligible gentlemen (within whom she has to marry to maintain social rank) that she is not marriage material. he has indeed made a joke out of her, at a point where her family is already considered with a fair amount of ridicule. colin has indeed ruined her prospects and its an action (in the context of regency etiquette) worthy of a tremendous amount of grovelling. in defence of colin, he doesn't even realise the extent of his blunder. to him, the idea of courting penelope is ridiculous simply because he has never taken the time to consider her as a potential wife. he's clueless about it all. which makes their plotline even better because this time around he's forced to see her as a willing participant in the marriage mart.
He said 5 mins before I’ll always protect you then did that to pen, with his friends who are eligible bachelors if he says no chance of courting her they might think what’s wrong with her. He’s a Bridgeton they would take him at his word, he could have said Im not courting her but any if you would be lucky to have her she’s a dear friend of mine, but he came across two faced. Yes he might be drunk been drinking but to be so obliviously stupid to be talking about her like that if she’s his friend.
I wish they properly addressed this in S3.

Also, I spotted an excellent Penelope Bridgerton cosplay at Anime Detour this weekend. She had the right body type, the red hair wig, and fabulous regency yellow silk gown. I didn't get a chance to compliment her and ask for permission to take her picture, but oh it was WELL DONE.

Great analysis! Agreed - Pen needed the earth-shattering shift and loss of a dream (perfect Colin on a pedestal) and loss of a crutch (BFF Eloise and the protection of Bridgerton family name) in order to start her real main character journey. The premise alone is already 10x more dramatic than the book RMB and as much as the book payoff was so satisfying, I think S3 has the potential to be even more TRIUMPHANT. I'm placing my faith in Shondaland for this. This one's for the Wallflowers! Hear, hear! (As I bang my cane, a-la-Lady Danbury).
I feel like there’s also a lot of potential for a fun mix where happy Kanthony will be a soothing balm while Polin can go through as much entertaining drama as possible. 😂

Lol ig I’m the only one not bothered by Colin’s lack of interest in Penelope initially. I feel like it made sense that he wasn’t seeing her in a romantic way. For one, she was his sisters best friend and two, Penelope never really said anything, she just hoped he would notice her which isn’t really his fault. Even when he told his friends he wouldn’t court her, I think that was more about him viewing her in a sisterly way than about her personally. I’m eager to see this season because he’ll finally have more opportunity to see her as a woman and not just a friend, mostly because she’s dropping the facade and being more direct.

19:41 what’s interesting about this scene is that he says “you read and replied to my letters” whereas in the season 3 official clip: he’s convinced that she read his letters despite her non-response when he says the “if you are going to make me say it out loud” line but as he says this to her, her countenance is somewhere between enlighten me and spare me and her reaction to “I miss you” appears like she’s learning of the contents for the first time which makes me think that she didn’t open the letters at all 😂

I really like your point of view, I'm also happy to hear you say that you won't read the book (I like this way of doing things). I honestly read it and I regret it a little because the series is built with a different dynamic that enriches the story. I especially like your reading of Penelope's growth (she changes and grows for herself, not for that empty noggin of Colin), Nicola Coughlan in my opinion is a formidable actress precisely because she managed to show all the nuances that you mentioned in video. I just like to be surprised! There are other times where I will know the source material before watching an adaptation but for this show I just prefer getting to go in for the first time knowing less of what to expect beforehand. 👀🍿

Being on twitter the last few days, I realize that I might be in the minority when it comes to Bridgerton. I love it all! All the couples, the ships, side characters, pointless plots. I love the Benedict/Colin bro moments and side glances when they’re making fun of Anthony. I love the family dynamic. I especially love that it doesn’t stress me out, when so much of what goes on in the world does. That being said, I am really looking forward to S3 and Colin being dragged by Penelope. I agree with your assesment about him having to be knocked off of a pedestal that she has him on in order for them to grow into their story together.

Mansfield Park... I have such a love / hate relationship with that particular Jane Austen Novel. It has the best villain, and the most class commentary and sarcasm dealing with the generationally wealthy. But oh Fanny Price... Ugh. My least favorite Jane Austen heroine. Actually, my least favorite heroine of any book for ALL TIME. The whole book would have been better if they tossed Fanny down a well in chapter 3.
On the other hand, some of the movie adaptions have been better in part because they give Fanny some spark and a bit of spine. The actress though did a magnificent job.

I think Austen was messing around with Mansfield Park because it's like...what if a bitch was correct from the jump. For that alone I kinda love it, because you keep thinking that like oh that Fanny she needs to learn about stuff, but no. She was literally correct the whole damn time about what would work for her and he intuition was 💯 and I kinda think that's a good message in a way too.

I’ve never had much an interest in Bridgerton at all, until I saw that “Mirror, Mirror” preview on X and someone posted a saucy excerpt from the Polin book. I immediately paid cash for the audiobook and finished it in two days, now I’m completely obsessed and insane for season 3 (gonna watch the other seasons soon!) 😂❤

Joy Ride! It came out in 2023 and was one of my favourites of the whole year! (If I’m remembering correctly, when I made my Top 10 Films of 2023 video I put it at number 3!)

I just love your analysis that keep me fed. I usually don't get this invested in tv shows like this (at least not in my adulthood years) but as a "spinster" myself (i met my now husband at 27yo) and a overweight wallflower (I can't explain how much I feel connected to Pen...) but... all is so keeping me connected to the story. I agree that Pen needed a breakdown to become to show her true colors. And I can't wait to see how this happens on screen because seems a bit different from the book which for me is not a problem because I get to see 2 times the same story and get surprised by it. I even have an idea to how a specific scene would be improved... I hope they have my same idea 😆
I like going in knowing as little as possible so I can be surprised by all the little twists and turns. There's always PLENTY of time during the off-season for me to start nitpicking the details, looking through the source material to make comparisons, etc. 😂

@ananyasubramani4596 yeah... of course I didn't feel "spinster" in the usual meaning of the term. But quite left out since all my friends at the time were in a relationship and who was not, had been in a relationship before. I have never been in a relationship before my husband. Surely I can't compare totally to Pen (she is even bad-ass with her double identity) but surely I feel connected to the story (and mostly any story with overweight female protagonist who are mostly under-featured).

Aww, I’ve only not watched your last Anyone But You video because I haven’t seen the movie yet! I promise! I’m all over Shakespeare modern romcom adaptations, or even just modern adaptations of classics à la Easy A.
As for this vid, I appreciate your spelling out the connective storytelling features that takes the characters from supporting to leads. It’s such a significant part and yet it seems to always get overlooked after each season so far. People had doubts about Anthony as a lead, then even more so for Colin.
I saw so many comments and to my surprise for the most part it seemed to be about looks first, and characterization second. Despite, broadly speaking, physical looks typically not being the primary point of focus when it comes to what attracts women. I get this is romantic fantasy, so it’s a bit different, but still so many had so little faith. Tsk
Now though, I haven’t seen anything like those comments. I wonder how much that has to do with the makeover vs teasers showing their chemistry. I suppose Polin fans could be drowning out a lot, but still. Perhaps the Kanthony hangover has receded enough to make room for the next love story. Your Bridgerton videos certainly help bridge the transition. I hope you’re given recognition for that.

I love your videos. My favorite is the Kanthony Hand Stuff. This video has sooooo many cut away clips. You literally say two sentences then it cuts to the clip. It was a bit too much for me. Not trying to criticize just offering feedback.

I definitely think they’re planning things multiple seasons in advance. For Colin/Penelope in particular they HAD TO because they’ve both been on the show since the beginning.
@@LadyJeneviato be fair they didn't HAVE to for that reason, I mean Benedict has been on the show since the beginning doing the same thing over and over, so that argument could be used to get his story in the right order.
I think there is more to it than just the whole 'they have been there for two seasons', but I won't go into them here because my thoughts on the real (undisclosed) reason could provide a book spoiler.

Oooooh! 2007 Northanger Abbey! Felicity Jones's Catherine Morland is the sweetest, cutest, most darling Austen heroine ever come to the screen. I love Jennifer Ehle's Lizzy Bennet, but Felicity is just SO HUGGABLE and lovable and fluffy AND SO BONNET-WEARING! Damn! I got carried away. Of course, Henry is also great in that film... He's great in the book, of course. I just love that adaptation, Felicity was the most lovable creature in the world and Henry was a charming charmer.

Penelope saying to Colin that she could not imagine him being so cruel was and is ironic to me because Penelope was cruel to Marina and to Eloise and Theo she gaslighted Eloise and to an extent Marina and then shamed them publicly as Lady Whistledown. In a way she reaped what she had sown.
Also Colin book and Penelope seem nothing like show Colin and Penelope. He is described as a rake , he is no rake.
Right? It’s hard for me to root for Penelope. I can’t get past that. I wonder if Marina’s fate will be the same as in the books.
Honestly I don’t like Eloise I’m on board with Penelope cause Eloise was reckless and never listened to her l. About Marina I agree cause she published the page without a regard for her future and her children
To be fair to Penelope she did speak to marina and asked her not to go after Colin and she also said that to her mother and she even tried to speak to Colin too. In an act of desperation she wrote about marinas pregnancy in LW. I don't blame her. And as for Marina she then finds out her lover has died and society knows she is ruined but she doesn't take Philips offer of marriage because she doesn't love him? But she was perfectly fine trying to trap Colin and even trying to get him to kiss her to force him to move faster to a proposal. I feel like everyone forgets Marina and what she was doing in this whole situation. She didn't need to go after Colin she could have gone after anyone if the aim was to trap them into marriage because she was pregnant. As for Eloise, she was running around after Theo and Penelope again warned her to stop. The Queen going after Eloise and threatening her and her family is what forced Penelope to write about Eloise. And she only wrote that Eloise was with crazy political people.she didn't write that she was with Theo which the servants had already been gossiping about. Penelope told Eloise that servants were talking about her and a man but she didn't write that in LW. So yeah I can understand why she did what she did. Was it right? No but she did it because of Eloise being reckless, refusing to listen to her and still going ahead and doing what she wants even after she has been warned. Noone ever listens to Penelope. It's only when she writes as LW that people listen to her. How can you then blame her for using the one tool she has at her disposal to try and manage the situation around her? I think she's been pretty restrained actually and you can tell she hasn't done it maliciously or with bad intent.
I still want to know if show-Colin is inexperienced because they've gone out of their way to show us that Anthony and Benedict are sleeping with any and every woman they feel like getting with, AND it would be a really different thing to have the leading man be inexperienced in that way.
I am hoping that Colin is a bit inexperienced this way. Male virginity is an underrated commodity in romance fiction.
