Can you please help the world with the Tower 600 and GPU's with vapor chamber issues in the standard format. Its kind of a slept on problem depending on AIB.
I work in the glass industry and want to tell you that the gap between the tempered glass panels is EXACTLY how every case should be. You can likely hit a tempered glass pane with a hammer on it's face without it breaking, but tapping it on it's edge can release the stresses in the tempered glass and cause it to shatter. The only other acceptable way of doing it would be to silicone the gap (or add something like a rubber or vinyl gasket) to buffer contact on the edge of the glass. The fact that they even shipped it with a strip of cardboard in that gap really shows their attention to detail.
thx for the answer. I would still prefer a silicone solution, because I can already see the dust accumulating there in my dusty workroom. I like the optics of this case very much, but I think gaps like that are a dealbreaker for me.
@@rinserofwinds I get where you're coming from, but obviously with the panel being removable, you can't really silicone the joint. They do make vinyl bubble seals that could be added to close the gap, but in my experience creating custom enclosures for customers (display cases, office partitions and such) they are almost always more unhappy with the look of a seal or silicone than the gap. I think most cases have plenty enough gaps and cracks that for most people, the dust contamination from that gap would be negligible, especially if you have more intake than exhaust since would want to create a positive pressure inside the case by default. But, I can see that if you have a dusty environment have to deal with, it might not be for you.
@@rinserofwinds i bought this exact case, white lx 600. The fit and finish was much better, there is a fraction of a millimeter misalignment on the plastic rows but it is sooo tiny. The glass has no gap at all they sit nicely on each other
@@rinserofwinds Positive air pressure inside the case (more fans pulling in air than exhausting it) will help prevent dust by forcing air to vent through the gaps.
Yeah, agreed! I mostly watch these case reviews just to see what's new and hopefully cool in the space, not interested in thermals and all that jazz (though it's of course helpful for ppl looking to buy).
Fun fact; the official definition of a metre is the distance that light travels through a perfect vacuum in 1/299792458th of a second. The **official** definition of a US inch by the US agency that sets these standards? Exactly 2.54cm - that's it. US units are defined in terms of metric units, using metric standards. *_The US is secretly a metric country, it's just using an imperial units skin_*
I am actually annoyed by that random fraction. The purity of metric has been sacrificed for convenience and backwards-compatibility. That could be 1/100000000 of a second, it'd be a pure pristine power of two and we'd be measuring distances in pure fractions of a lightsecond, but people would have to change some signs so we're going to pretend that 1/299792458 is a normal fraction someone would choose to use for any rational reason, because the Earth's circumference wasn't actually a very good base unit and breaking existing measurements is a bad idea NOW but was a super-good idea when France wanted to do it specifically for the sake of breaking measurements. (Base units that were easily converted to and from existing imperial units were proposed in several places, but the french government intentionally chose inconvenient numbers specifically for the sake of making France incompatible with everyone else. Their redefined calendar and clocks were never adopted outside of the french government despite laws mandating their use, and eventually France relented and just went "we changed our minds, the metric time units are now identical to the existing imperial ones. Since you JERKS didn't like our ten hour days and ten-day weeks for some weird reason.")
@@CptJistuce well the original distance unit was one ten millionth of the distance from the equator to the north pole along a great circle. They had a platinum bar they compared against for it. Later on defined against the speed of light as that's the only "true" constant and you can then always measure the distance of a meter, regardless of everyone having near identical platinum bars. Interesting fact: one cubic meter is 1000 liters and 1l of water is 1kg, helps a lot when measuring liquid vs area. And regarding imperial units being defined as metric, that's because in the 1950/60's everything got redefined in terms of metric, since metric is used as scientific standard. Better if everyone has the same units and should be able to convert easily to a base, and metric was chosen as the base.
8:20 “it’s not petty if it’s accurate.” I’m just more impressed you managed to dig out a comment from nearly 8 years ago just for a bit in the video. It paid off handsomely though. That’s some king sh!t right there.
I bought this case the moment it launched, have it in the horizontal layout. It was very nice to build in, with a few minor issues that could be fairly easily resolved. be quiet! NEEDs to sell those reverse blade fans stand alone though.
@@GamersNexus One of my biggest issues was getting the rubber grommets to stay put when trying to route cables through them, any movement of the cable caused it to pop out and if you have enough cables going through them, it can be very difficult to get them back into place. They also do not come preinstalled, yet the fan cables are already routed meaning you have to unplug the stock fan cables to install the grommets. I think some stiffer rubber or deeper channels in the rubber for more gripping power could help. I also do not have as large of a gap between the glass panels on mine (I have the Black 600 LX). There is a very small gap but it is not as big as the one showcased in the video. I also do not have the misaligned LED strip panels, all of mine are flush and aligned as I'd expect them to be. I do agree the feet don't really "lock in" but once I had mine setup and on my desk, they've not moved at all. The mechanism is simple enough as well I could easily see the community 3D printing up different feet designs for this case. I bought this case to replace my CaseLabs Bullet BH8, which was also a horizontal layout case but I was ready for something newer, with some more modern features and can fit some larger hardware in it. Overall, I really like this case and I think it looks amazing, especially in the horizontal layout.
@@RadioactiveLobster I am in the same boat as you, my white light base 600 didnt have a gap between the glass or the led bars. It came looking pretty good. I was debating buying a 2nd case for more reverse fans, then selling the case fanless. Instead im going with 10 infinity fans so ill be selling my white reverse blades. first build, hope it goes well lol
I ended up getting the Light Base 900 FX since it was the only case that would easily fit on my desk without being sideways on the edge thanks to the horizontal layout. My current desk has shelves above the desk and can barely fit a 27-inch monitor with an adjustable stand. I was deciding between the Lightbase 900 FX, Lian Li Dynamic, and another case, so I used Blender to model the cases and the desk. The Lightbase 900 can fit 2 GPUs, and with a certain motherboard, I could do 2x 3slot GPUs and 1x 2slot GPU.
I came to this case for a build that will be used by a teenager (I advised on parts etc). And I am honestly surprised they still don't sell this triple pack reversed fans, only 1600- and 2100RPM fans (2100 are used on their new AIO). There is a Reddit post (which got a response from a Be quiet! employee) months ago, about this very issue.
Fun fact that wasn't mentioned in the review, the Light Base 600 fits into a standard 19 inch rack in the horizontal orientation, which is why I bought it. Much cheaper and better airflow than most quality purpose-built rack mount cases. I've gotten impressive thermal results in the horizontal orientation with a left-to-right airflow configuration and a 90 degree rotated CPU cooler (Ice Giant ProSiphon Elite) and a flow-through design GPU. Every fan in the case is blowing air left-to-right with minimal obstructions. I would like to see CPU cooler rotation kits (like Noctua used to have for the NH-D15) make a comeback to open up interesting stuff like this in more builds.
@@majoryoshi 7U without the feet. I'd suggest using rack equipment support brackets (the ones that are L-shaped and extend only a few cm under the equipment) rather than a shelf for better airflow. It really should be an open-frame rack to get the sideways airflow going.

I actually bought that case for my new build, which happened to be 1 week after the cases release date. Been using it so far as a flat showcase built and its amazing. I kept the fans as pre installed (bottom intake, exhaust on the back (and AiO as exhaust on the side)).Thermals have been pretty good so far. Using a Kraken AiO for the 7800X3D and a 7800XT. Never above 60°C even under "full load" (6hours gaming+). It looks amazing. Sound is okay. Dust isnt a real issue (if you wipe it down once a week). All in all i must say i love it. Thanks for your amazing review. ❤
You really strike a good balance between high quality, informative reviews and adding in some humour. Never thought I'd find case reviews entertaining, but now I look forward to each of your reviews.
15:21 What I want to see coming back is a case with that orientation that we can also put a monitor on top like in the 90's, but with a modern touch. Because of the glass, and the thickness of the bottom part with stupid LED, this case won't be appropriate for that use, but if somebody in the industry is reading comments (and my message), please make these cases with modern horizontal airflow, I will buy and I know I won't be the only one. And as for the ATX power supply, just create a chamber on the side, so we can considerably reduce the thickness all by being able to put a big video card and a big CPU heatsink. Thank you! P.S.: No, I'm not asking for an HTPC case, these cases are sadly totally inappropriate for the use I'm talking about.
It'd be nice to see, there's definitely a market - niche maybe - but it's there. I was going to say that the increased weight needed to support the monitor might be a big driver of price - but then I remembered that we're not using CRT monsters anymore. Gods, I'm old.
The accurate American measurements are actually SOOOO helpful! I mean, what's a centimeter anyway? Furlongs and cubits are so much easier to use. I'm definitely going to need more of those in your future videos!!! Also "it's not petty if it's accurate" is my new favorite quote

It's an interesting case for sure! I got a little bored of dual chamber cases, though, which is why i just swapped my O11D Evo for a Shadow Base 800 DX. Very happy with it, Be Quiet! makes nice cases.
Hey Steve, I have the 900FX in black and I have two comments to make. 1. My feet are extremely stiff fitting and are extremely solid, I saw you using finger strength easily rotating them, not possible on mine. 2. My fit and finish was much better than yours, apart from the glass gap, I wonder if they have some manufacturing QC issues. But gutted on the thermals, but I have planned a side to side fan placement so fingers crossed! Thanks Steve and team!
I have been waiting since CES for a review on this and I am so happy you guys are doing one, regardless of the results. This is the #1 case I have been looking at.
I really really like this case ... this is exactly what i'm looking for. Ever since my DYIPC Cuboid case i have been in love with the horizontal layout. Its just not the same old plain jane vertical tower. Even with the negatives ... i'm still leaning towards this case ... All because of the looks / horizontal lay out .. Because in my mind i can picture a very unique build .... I wanna to play around with making it look like its powered by old vacuum tubes ... Oh man... so many ideas
I'm so glad to see a new legitimate horizontal layout option on the market. With how simple the mounting system for the feet are, I'm looking forward to what the 3d print community comes up with. I suspect we'll see controller and headphone hangers along with various replacement feet options.
God bless you Steve for giving that info about the pump for liquid cooling. I'm new to building and this information was really REALLY super helpful. I have learned so much from your detailed reviews about PC hardware. Thanks so so much to you and everyone at Gamer Nexus.
it's extra tickling when they call inches and feet "freedom units" when they are actually "imperial units" please don't tell them what empire we are talking about :|
Oh, you mean Great Britain, America's motherland? We're well aware. Did you realize it's a joke meant to annoy the rest of the world? I learned both Imperial and Metric in school back in the 80s and 90s. Pretty sure all American kids were. Alright, you can piss off now. That's a British phrase, ya know. ;)
I think imperial units are used somewhere aside of the US, too, not sure though. Also even in Germany inches etc. are used for some sizes, because the correct units would be awkward.
Flashbacks to the Amstrad PC1512 / PC1640 Days. My first ever upgrade was going from monochrome to CGA monitor and from using 5.25" floppy disks drive only to having a 20MB hard drive.
Seriously handsome design. You'd be getting compliments from people who couldn't care less about computers. Always happy see to cases that would fit in rooms with mature aesthetics like mid-century modern

Looks like it supports Front-to-back Motherboards too. I have been looking for "interesting" Case like this for a new build possibly next year! Thanks Steve!
This is a nice review to see, I've been super interested in this series of cases ever since they were shown off at computex, I love the old school horizontal orientation, it really gives me OLD SCHOOL builder vibes.
I love the scientific testing approaches GN does, very much. It's a personal treat for me to watch these videos, they make me feel like a sane person in world sloppyness and "time is money, too much thinking takes too much time" leading to products that leave me scratching my head way too often. That'S true at least for the world of consumer products. I'd do it the GN way and most people think I'm insane for making the effort. But when I watch these videos I feel like a normal person :D . That said, I want to hint at the noise testing, which is awesome, just a thought: even normalized noises are not comparable to each other, when they are different in pitch, pattern and what not. You can't normalize for everything, plus the human brain ist just too individual. Example from my reef tank: the pumps do annoy me, especially when they are on some sort of alternating or ramping program like the "advanced" natural flow simulations, with random ramps. The skimmer, however, which is a device that has a modified pump in it, that mixed a ton of fine air into the water, actually emits something close to brown noise, wich I find very calming. Constant beeping sounds, like a constant sine wave, freak most pople out, within seconds, yet to me the *can* be meditative. Might actually have to do with me being AuDHD, dunno. But I definitely wouldn't want a sound like this to be permanent. Well, fortunately PC fans all sound kinda the same, so I guess in practice my point is moot, here. So "just saying" ^^ .
Thanks for reviewing this case, GN. I've had my eye on the 900 since it was announced. I would really love to see a 'best possible airflow configuration' kind of video for this case. I also hope in future iterations that BQ will have their own Lian Li-style interconnected fans. That nest of cables from the RGB fans was pretty rough.
now check the horizontal temperatures with both L&R as intake and remove the glass panel and replace it with a copy of the bottom panel without the filter to act as exhaust from positive pressure
You could put a small portable monitor inside the computer when it's in the horizontal orientation, and look at it through the front glass. Maybe in a 60 degree angle. A screen that small might not be very usable, but at least it would look cool.
Haven't seen the flat style cases since the 90's Compaqs. They take up a lot of room, but they are pretty easy to work on. That was back when you would put your monitor on top of it, though.

Never thought I'd find case reviews entertaining, but now I look forward to each of your reviews.
i just watched jayz drunken review/ad video for this case...thank you for an actual impartial technical review of it.
That was some of the best 'smart-assery' measurements I have ever heard. Excellent!
@@katbairwelltrue,same here :) I don't think making it sturdy enough to carry a 27" should be too difficult
@@fooboomoo Makes me wish I'd kept some old chassis from back in the day. Everything old is new again!
I'd buy one. I'd even pay extra for a faux floppy disk drive on the front.
I do not enjoy the whole MUST HAVE TEMPERED GLASS that seems to be the current case fascination for anything that isn't a cheap piece of junk.
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! It's not petty, if it's accurate! I love you Steve.
Im dying 😂😂
The measurements units...HILARIOUS RESPONSE!!!
FINALLY! A case that I can use with the left hand side against a wall and still see the contents of the case.
Was waiting for a new be quiet case!
I love the new idea of the horizontal look.
The accurate American measurements are actually SOOOO helpful! I mean, what's a centimeter anyway? Furlongs and cubits are so much easier to use. I'm definitely going to need more of those in your future videos!!!
Also "it's not petty if it's accurate" is my new favorite quote
for us in europe its the exact oposite ^^ iv you use inches on me you better not tell me how long the table lengh of my desk is
im used to metrics :)
it is what it is :P
And if cubits are too imprecise, what is it in barleycorns? 😂
@@C7TJFVB7CAZ_TyonorShap you know I was being sarcastic, right? Just checking :) I also use metric as much as possible
@@leftcoastfunk nah i know at least bitzy hehe but your fine bro, i just told my part hehe wasnt again anyone :) we just all use what we use ;)
Got my dice sets yesterday. I love them both. Amazing work by your mom on the Snowflake portrait. Working on a lightfast colored pencil portrait of my daughter Morrigan for her grandmother. All hail fur babies! 🤘
@9:30 Since you've arranged the case in that fashion with the keyboard and mouse somebody now has to place an LCD display within the case to make it complete!
Steve providing the measurements cracked me up that was great.
10:00 this is why I love metric system, it took me less than a second to convert it to centimeters :D
Meanwhile 0.0005 miles
As a previous HAF XB Evo owner and someone who prefers my case on the left side of my desk, this case makes me happy!
This is nothing like the xb evo, show some respect
@@xenn4985Fair lol I loved that thing.
Not quiet as good thermally as I hoped for, but I love how it looks horizontally!
I'm seriously considering this case for my build thank you for such a thorough review
You gotta love the accurate (non-)pettiness
Another great case review. Thanks for keep the manufactures honest and improvement orientated. Awesome work.
It's an interesting case for sure! I got a little bored of dual chamber cases, though, which is why i just swapped my O11D Evo for a Shadow Base 800 DX. Very happy with it, Be Quiet! makes nice cases.
That sound chamber is flipping awesome. Love the blue & grey sound absorbers. Excellent journalism as always. *Thank puck for **_Gamers Nexus._*
Wish they would bring back the old style flat cases you could put the monitor on top. Saves a lot of desk space.
Thumbs up for measuring units alone!
I don't know what's better, the measurement gag or the fact that he kept going with it. 💀😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Would you review MONTECH leather case ? Saw it from the computex video, very interesting.
Always appreciate the thorough testing you guys do on these cases!
Malicious compliance, the best kind of compliance!
I have been waiting since CES for a review on this and I am so happy you guys are doing one, regardless of the results. This is the #1 case I have been looking at.

@@Robbie-mw5uubut he's bringing back cubits 😅 should we call him Noah instead?
@@Robbie-mw5uu did someone shit in your cereal this morning?
Finally, as a European it was a breath of fresh air to hear some proper US measurements 😀
8:36 is that a sony Xperia?
I'm extremely happy with my Lancool 216. Gives everything for a gamer. Great case.
Thanks Steve
Nice to see the desktop getting some love again, all they need to do now is strip out the LEDs, and paint it beige, then it'll be perfect!
1:42 who is that guy!?
Been looking forward to this review, thanks Steve!
Yes! It was the last missing case on my list, now I can complete my Excel and choose, thanks Steve!
People who have spreadsheets for things like computer cases are my people 😎🤓
@ yeah searching and updating the spreadsheet is the best part 👌
Thank god you mentioned the dimensions in furlongs. Now my horse can be sure to purchase the right size case.
Review the Kryosheets
Sir, I JUST got the set of Inductor Dice! It will make a great gift for my niece's husband, a DM and recently laid off from Boeing. Cheers!
0:24 nice feet
I really really like this case ... this is exactly what i'm looking for. Ever since my DYIPC Cuboid case i have been in love with the horizontal layout. Its just not the same old plain jane vertical tower.
Even with the negatives ... i'm still leaning towards this case ... All because of the looks / horizontal lay out .. Because in my mind i can picture a very
unique build .... I wanna to play around with making it look like its powered by old vacuum tubes ... Oh man... so many ideas

Thanks for the freedom units. I was almost lost for a second.
As a long time SFF pc builder, I just cant wrap my head around the appeal getting a giant case like this only to have like 70% of it being empty space
Because it's pretty? And lots of people like to put decorations inside the case
That's what water cooling is for! You can spend even more money filling the entire case with radiators and tubes and a big reservoir
I'm so glad to see a new legitimate horizontal layout option on the market. With how simple the mounting system for the feet are, I'm looking forward to what the 3d print community comes up with. I suspect we'll see controller and headphone hangers along with various replacement feet options.
The furlong is the superior PC measurement unit.
Prove me wrong.
Been right furlong time
God bless you Steve for giving that info about the pump for liquid cooling.
That's a British phrase, ya know. ;)
Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't it the joke, because apart from usa just about nobody uses them
@@kingplunger1 He's American, he wouldn't know lol
I think imperial units are used somewhere aside of the US, too, not sure though. Also even in Germany inches etc. are used for some sizes, because the correct units would be awkward.
Really appreciate the cubit dimensions. It's a very overlooked but imo important data point. Thanks Steve!.
The last good horizontal cases that I remember were the Corsair Carbide Air 540 and 740.
Huh? I have the Corsair Carbide Air 740 and it's not a horizontal case.
Flashbacks to the Amstrad PC1512 / PC1640 Days. My first ever upgrade was going from monochrome to CGA monitor and from using 5.25" floppy disks drive only to having a 20MB hard drive.
Why did TH-cam hide this video from me for 36 seconds??
Cringe comment
Seriously handsome design. You'd be getting compliments from people who couldn't care less about computers. Always happy see to cases that would fit in rooms with mature aesthetics like mid-century modern
Saw the 600/900 in the background of a few videos back, got me excited. Especially after you covered it at computex, got the 500 dx ages ago thanks to you guys!
After that glowing review how could I not buy one. Seriously though Steve I always appreciate your honest reviews.
Looks like it supports Front-to-back Motherboards too. I have been looking for "interesting" Case like this for a new build possibly next year! Thanks Steve!
Legitimately thinking of moving to this from a CM H500p mesh case. Love the style of this thing.
Finally something new! Be quiet! Good job ❤
This case truly is a work of art.
Sun Type7 Keyboard Gang!!!
Makes me smile every time I see that in the background of one of your shots.
Type 5, but yes, indeed! 😁
I was just thinking about this case after rewatching your 2024 preview. Cool to see that you guys are still mind readers!
I appreciate that someone is finally using Qubits and Furlong in measurements so I don't have to convert
The commitment to the measurements is just 🧑🍳👌
Love that you used an air cooler rather than an AIO. Great review as always!
The measurements got me, multiple times. Bravo Steve, Bravo.
This is a nice review to see, I've been super interested in this series of cases ever since they were shown off at computex, I love the old school horizontal orientation, it really gives me OLD SCHOOL builder vibes.
The best feature of this case is that it actually fits in a server rack. I have mine sitting on a 1u shelf 👌
LOVE cases with horizontal motherboard configurations.
I love my Lightbase 900. Using the horizontal setup with positive pressure fan setup.
One of my favorite GN vids ever! Because of the "non-pettiness". :)
Thank you for this review. I have been extremely interested in this case since I saw it at pop up at a show.
Just finished my build. Horizontal media setup. Looks great.
This has been tempting me since it was shown here back during E3(I think) .but my 802 is still awesome😢. Thanks GN you made me buy a too good a case😂
now check the horizontal temperatures with both L&R as intake and remove the glass panel and replace it with a copy of the bottom panel without the filter to act as exhaust from positive pressure
