Thank you for this video. I just started playing guitar 5 months ago, and getting my hand position correct is the most frustrating part. Maybe it's because I'm older (51), but this exercise gets painful. Starting from the 7th fret is less painful, and working my way up the neck gave me some early success before the pain set in. BTW - I call the "wrong" way the "air guitar position". In my case I know I'm trying to break the habit of playing the air guitar for 40 years.
The descending exercise is a lot harder than it looks but I'm glad now to have something concrete to practice. Thank you for this and all of your other videos, Griff. Much appreciated!
Hi could you please do a video on how to play in the hand blues position i can perfectly do the exercises with the classical position but as soon as I change to a hand blues position i can't reach any notes or hardly move my fingers its very frustrating.i can't do an A chord with my index finger and reach the notes one step higher with my ring finger with thumb muting the low E string. Thanks for your videos
Great lesson...Can you do a technique lesson on playing in the higher registers where the frets are closer together? I've always admired your technique, seems to be flawless...
