Yes, The Art and Science of Tracking by Tom Brown Jr. is the finest of it's kind in interpretation and Mark Elbroch has the best guides to Mammal and Bird Tracks in my opinion. Don't bring them outside though. I lost my autographed copy to a summer rain. The pages will fuse together when they get wet, a very expensive mistake.
@envirosponsible Thanks for your kind words. We're all the "real deal" as long as we let our actions outnumber our stories. Getting out there is the toughest part, after that, just start following the stories in the snow. I wish I had a camera that worked in this cold, had a snowshoe hare track until it ended in a spot of blood and two perfect wing prints today. Now that's the "real deal". hello,yea tracking,nice explaination,i dont think most people can track or notice,pay attention.people that track have an ability to notice there suroundings.if you are not a tracker and have no idea whats going on you are only going to keep looking areound,a tracker sees the obviouse diference of everthing,it makes sense and is what they are saying in my words,but this is true,hunters,trackers,ect all are aware of there suroundings and what things look like,i for record am a forager naturalist
so,am i the only one who just came up with the medical snow sshoe/yea,for crutches/what the big dealk,cant ya put some snow shoe tings on some cructhes so it would allow to walk easier in snow,?i bet someone gets it going,peace
