    Try to find the chocolate ones. They are call petites and they come on a two pack only. In stead of candy I eat one. So good.

    Vanessa, make homemade yogurt in the instant Pot! Make sure your ip has a Yogurt button. It’s really awesome,, uses 1 half gallon of Fairlife Milk, google 3 ingredient yogurt. To save on the broth, buy the Better than Bouillon base, comes in many flavors. Mix 1 tsp with a cup of water, saves lugging around large jugs of broth. Stores in the refrigerator, I use the chicken and beef. Hope that helps. Would it be easier and cheaper to shop once a week?

    Great job, you will definitely be busy over the next few weeks, so a big grocery shopping will save time. I noticed your pork tenderloin, and that it is Smithfield, yum, this is the only brand my husband likes. We don't have HEB but fortunately I can find them in a local market. Make sure you try to get some rest!!!

    • @angelshaven8920
      @angelshaven8920 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I cringe at the thought of a monthly budget that high. When I was feeding my family of 4, our budget was MAX for my total home monthly necessities and food budget was $500 (including tp, laundry detergent, toothpaste, etc, everything we needed minus clothing and the like). It was typically around $400. We ate good and got what we wanted.

    • @touchinglives6625
      @touchinglives6625 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Angels Haven Yes that’s exactly my budget for total household food and necessities as well. I felt kind of embarrassed saying that. But it’s what I can afford.
      I’ll admit that it gets pretty redundant for us with a budget that small but it’s definitely doable and no one goes even close to hungry. My family consist of 2 adults and 1 Child on a daily basis and 4 more young adults home from college or visiting on average of 2-3 days per week. There are times I wish I could allot more to the budget but only because I want to try things that require me to buy stuff that I don’t have as a staple in my home. However I’m grateful that I can feed my family on what I can afford. That’s a blessing in itself.

    • @icedmocha5264
      @icedmocha5264 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@touchinglives6625 no need to feel embarrassed. That's a normal amount to budget for food and household items.

    I have a weird suggestion for a reusable small water bottle-if they will bring them back home for you to wash...tonic water comes in 8 ounce glass bottles that you can wash and reuse since it is packed in small glass bottles. If you don't like gin and tonic drink, use the tonic water to water your plants, wash the bottles and you're go to go

  • @Kelli_D.

    I don't know if it will work for lettuce (lettuce doesn't last long in my house) but when I buy Celery I usually only need it for 1 thing (which is chicken and dumplings) I take the rest of the pack, wash it, cut off both ends, dry it off, wrap it in tin foil and it'll last in my fridge for over a month and I just pull out 2 stalks (or the amount I need) rewrap it and go on with what I'm doing. If I leave it in the bag it goes bad within the week I bought it.
    It's also nice seeing people on YT shop a whole month I've never been able to do a weekly grocery shop even growing up I've always shopped for the whole month, then throughout just bought like bread, milk things like that that I run out of , I buy everything I can in bulk, like Sugar from walmart I buy the 25 pound bag, and come home and put it into tall (Dollar Tree) storage containers it'll last me at least 2 months, and that's making a gallon of Kool- Aid and Tea at least 3 times a week, and drinking several cups of coffee a day, hot cups of tea. baking, cooking with it as well. The price of it does seem expensive but when you think about how much you spend on the "regular" size bags in a month, it's much better to buy the 25 pounds. Even if you don't use a lot of sugar, as long as it's stored in a good sealed container it'll be there when you need it :) I do the same with flour but not as large of a bag, I think I buy a 10 or 15 pound bag, fill my storage container up then the rest in the bag gets closed up and put into my freezer.

    Hi Vanessa, great haul. Have you tried the Okois Triple Zero salted caramel yogurt? It’s delicious and no sugar. I make homemade edible cookie dough for my family for a fractional the cost of the store bought kind. Tbh, homemade tastes better too. I always take 1/2 the batch and roll little cookie dough balls, place them in a cookie sheet and freeze them, then bag them up and store them in the freezer. The kids use them as ice cream topping or in homemade shakes. God bless 🙏🏼❤️

      I am a huge sweets and snacks lover. But i found that buying one snack per person helped a lot. So for instance i love sandies, so i would get that for myself, my husband is more o a chips kinda person and my daughter loves cookies as well so 1 pack of cookies for me 1 bag og chips for husbands and 1 box of cookies for daughter and some teether cookies for my son. So that way we all have something we like, and if everything is gone, well we will just have to wait till next shopping trip. As far as candy goes, we buy only a bar that we are craving at the moment. Same with drinks. When. We want to stop eating a lot of something we just don't buy it that way were not tempted. And since i love cakes or anything like that we just buy boxes of the betty croker or duncan hines cake or brownie mixes because that way they're not as easily available and if i want to that i have to get off my butt and make them hahaha

    I love monthly shopping. I ended up spending way less. I would buy a lot of chicken and other meats. Then all i had to do is fill in with milk eggs etc. I am not an impulse shopper. I stick to my list and thats it. I want to walk in the supermarket get done and get out. xoxo

    I love the black bean veggie burgers. They can get a bit dry though.

    Search
    Manna™ Vogue® Kids 9 oz. Double Wall Stainless Steel Water Bottle. I found them on Bed, Bath and Beyond, but you might be able to find them cheaper somewhere else.

    I am trying to eat healthier too! Trying to cut back on my carbs, but can not commit to full Keto.
