Learnt a lot of new things which would be practically useful and I never knew before! Especially cell styles, paste column width, go to special, centre across selection. Thanks for the video!
Wow great sir. If you don't mind I want to ask you that you record videos and audio sound is very clear no back ground sound would you like to tell that product to record.
I see and use most of these every single day and yet I learned a lot more right now, Thanks, every single one of your videos is a delight of knowledge and you are the best at teaching. If you create a serie about pivot tables or VBA in excel please let me know will see it from beginning to the end.🤩🤩🤯
Oh wow .. "center across selection" is truly the real gem far superior than Merge & Center, now that I see the difference. The other tips were super cool too. .. I never notice the headers showing up in table before while scrolling too.. Thank you so very much for exposing the subtle hidden gems.
@@Computergaga Now we know, Merge & Center should be deprecated replaced by the 'Center across selection' in the Home ribbon. Right, tell me about the pain we all endure with Merge & Center.
Hi Alan.. another great video. Thanks for your insight. Other ribbon buttons I use often that could be overlooked are Data - What If-Analyais - Goal Seek and Data Table. I'm often called upon to back into a result after the worksheet logic has already been created. Example.. a loan payment calculation based on inputs of amount, rate and period. Once done, I'll be asked to determine say the rate associated with a selected payment amount. I can use Goal Seek to "back into" the rate associated with a desired end result. Data Tables allow for a spread of results by inputting multiple versions of a single variable. I often see people print multiple pages of an output with just one variable changed. Instead, a data table will give the results, all on one page. The only downside is that Data Tables can slow down calculation cycles in a large workbook. But, when used carefully, they are very powerful. Those are my votes to add to your list of secret buttons that hide in plain sight on the ribbon. Thanks again for all of your great tips. Thumbs up!
In the 5 business days prior to watching this, I was faced with a) wanting to quickly protect/unprotect cells, b) scrolling through a colleague’s spreadsheet and not understanding why the headers looked the way they did (it was formatted as a table), and c) working around merged/centered cells wreaking havoc on my processes. I’m an intermediate user, and these tips resonated. I enjoy watching your videos (geeky as it may be), because they are so useful! TFS.
Concerning the Format Painter I would have also mentioned that if you double-click it you can format multiple items/areas until you hit the Escape key.
