  • Think breakfast style MRE with sweets and crunch. Enjoy menu #20 of the newer MRE series with me as we unbox and eat this interesting meal. It was actually quite good.

Loved your story about your trip in Groningen. I myself am Dutch and I was pleasantly surprised by this story!
Your videos are amazing and this story just made me even more of a fan!
On your question about jobs in different places:
Depending if you already work for a company you sometimes indeed need papers and help from officials to get you to work somewhere else for said company. But these days you can mostly go to wherever you want and work wherever you want as long as the job you looking for accepts you that is haha.

Perhaps they were talking about moving into another country in Europe because moving inside the Netherlands has never been under licence as a citizen. Besides WWII of course when the German skinheads were in power.

yet another great MRE review there. The memories you shared with us about your relatives from Holland was simply amazing i loved the fact you got to connect with distant relatives like that and they were interested to learn about you as well! your travelling in the navy allowed you to meet them its so cool to hear stories like that i love them!

The story about moving provinces and needing to contact about the government and all that is still partially true, but it’s way less work. It’s merely just some paperwork for moving out and all that.
    Great video!!

Great story about going to Holland and meeting your extended family. I have a similar story about going to Germany and meeting my family in Basel, and they were so happy and accommodating I considered moving there permanently. My family members who left escaped the war, and were still alive so meeting me only two generations removed was me meeting great aunts, and uncles, and some second cousins and I felt the immediate familiar connection and my great uncle showed me pictures where I looked almost exactly like him in my 20's. Separated by a ocean, but still so close. The elders of that time are gone now, and I've written to one of my second cousins not to long ago, but time again has separated us. It was a beautiful moment in life.

Allow me to jump on the bandwagon. I loved every bit of that story, from coincidentally hitching with an American, to the little girl thinking you're a Nazi, to the Patriarch clunking down the road in his wooden shoes....all of it. I really like how the stories are weaving through the video's too, that was a great idea.
PS Mini-Wheats Blueberry is my favorite cereal, I'm a blueberry nut so I thought that "granola" looked delicious.

But all of my family did and I do love frosted mini wheats for movie watching snacking
Strawberry and blueberry are the best but ive had other random flavors i like too.
One I had once and loved but I don't know if it was name brand or not. Apple cinnamon frosted mini wheats. They were yummy.

Hey Marine! Watching you mix the beveridge powder reminded me of how we (the boiler techs) aboard ship would scrub clean the stainless steel deckplates down in the fireroom. We had a 5 gallon bucket we'd put "bug-juice" concentrate with out sugar...add water and scrub the deckplates. The soap we added resulted in red or green foamy solution. This concoction allowed us to de-grease the deckplates as the citric acid in the bug juice concentrate would break up grease and oil residues. Made the fireroom smell somewhat better for an hour or so.
We used the 10 gallon pack in 3-4 gallons of water, it was super concentrated like how you started your mix.

Re the Cheese. In the 1980's in the British Army, rations were different then 24 hour not by meal, in the bigger multi packs for 10 people there was always a couple of tins of cheese called...Cheese Processed.....Came known as Cheese Possessed. I have tasted several US MRE's and the cheese is always the same as those long ago UK bulk ration packs. Maybe its a way of preserving the cheese longer. Remember..."Cheese Processed/Possessed".

The Old Man of the Phils (Philippines) checking in again. Way cool when you can physically visit a possible place of your family origin and then find those long lost relatives. The German side of my family emigrated (legally !) to the USA in the late 1800s. My Paternal Grandparents made a trip to Germany. Searching for relatives was part of their itinerary. They entered what was then E. Germany and located one older gentleman with our family name. As far back as they could trace, there was no connection. He told my Grandparents not to bother contacting the one other person in the phonebook with our family name, she was his Ex-wife so not a relation. Just noticed I neglected to whack that subscribe button, will rectify that post haste.

They never lasted in our vehicles to go bad lol
But I'd love to maybe take some and with a bit of extra ingredients that you might find left over in pantries. Kinda like a MRE Chopped game lol.
No time limits tho. I wanna make the best possible meal.
