    I've used a curtain pole attached to wall with no curtain and clamped a PVC matt white backdrop on it to take mannequin size shots. Trouble was backlight from the window behind, so I bought the 2 meter X 2 meter backdrop set up which you showed, just waiting on it coming. For smaller shots I have been using matt white wallpaper rolls taped to the wall . Now though I am building a bigger set up for my smaller products so this video has helped me loads.

    Sorry for asking a lot of questions, but what size spring clamps do you use to affix backdrops to the horizontal arm?
    Finding clamps that will fit around my T stand bar, while also holding a thin PVC backdrop (so the backdrop hangs below the arm) has been harder than expected, so as long as your setup can hold backdrops the same way, I'll copy it. The clamps that came with my stand barely fit around the bar, and thus won't clamp on a backdrop as well.

    • @ChrisPieta

    Just ordered a $40 T stand from Amazon, and I suspect it's going to be much less stable than your DIY solution.
    Couple quick questions: is the boom arm attachment part (not sure what they're called) made of plastic or metal? I assume the arm is aluminum, but what about the vertical post? Aluminum or steel?
    Finally, have you made a video detailing your lights setup? Do you use light stands, or a similar DIY solution to your background support?

    • @ChrisPieta
      @ChrisPieta  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The boom arm is just a c-stand extension arm. It's metal. The vertical post is a metal plumber's pipe. All is super sturdy! I'ts not aluminum, pretty heavy, I think they are steel or iron but I'm not sure.
      I use a c stand for lighting, I have a video on it in my product photography series!
