To think that Nuno was around 25 when he helped write this masterpiece with Gary is a testament to his musical brilliance. Everything you could want in a song, or composition, in less than 22 minutes. Yes, a timeless masterpiece that didn't get nearly enough recognition. Almost 32 years later, and the song is as incredible now as it was in 1992.
In my opinion, this is the best album ever written. I love it so, so, so much! Extreme is an amazing band. I will always love them. Thank you for posting this to stream.
This is simply one of the greatest pieces of music ever composed. This album falls into my top of all time and the ending suite is just the butter cream icing on this cake. Simply phenomenal. Thank you Extreme for this masterful production.

Sorry, but not me. I loved Extreme all the way back to "More than Words." Extreme 3 was one of the most profound CD's of my young adulthood. But I only know one other person who knows who Extreme is and he was the one who introduced me to them.
I literally grew up to this album and pornograffitti. My older brother had a bunch of pirated tapes which we played to sleep and those two were the ones that got played the most.
@@gaffneyrailroading1982 heartbreaking. Nuno said it was like cutting off his right arm having to leave it off. I'm sure!! It's my favorite track on the album!!
@@aldeayeah yes, they had to delete one track from the cd edition because the longplay was too long to fit. The track is "Don't Leave Me Alone" and it's brilliant.
This is probably one of the best rock albums ever. So few people ever really got into it. This particular section of the album in monumental. Simply brilliant.
I was lucky enough to grow up in the same city as Gary (Malden, MA). I became very good friends with him and the rest of the band. Went to many live shows and hung out backstage. We used to play basketball all the time and I actually played a big role in one of their videos. What a time in my life. Don’t see them as much anymore now that I’m older and have my own family. But I will tell you, these guys are the most down to earth guys you could meet. Pure class!
Great message. Which role did you play in which video..? Extreme came out when I was learning guitar and having guitar lessons. I still play and would love to own an N4 guitar when I finally have the money for one. I am looking for a used model with the big N4 sticker on the front. I played them out of the music stores and they feel flawless to play and sound terrific. They are very expensive though but it's all worth it because you get high quality from Washburn. It's just hard saving these days because of all that is going on around our world. Keep safe:)
Extreme were way ahead of their time. Making incredibly mature music with a background in anti-toxic masculinity amidst genres of tough guy rockstars and up-tight metal guitarists. Gary's lyrics are criminally underappreciated. Nuno I swear has a musical version of Robin William's comic brain, consuming everything around him and transcending genres. I'm overjoyed Six got as much attention as it has. They've been really deserving of it.
Absolute masterpiece of an album, which never truly got the recognition it deserved. I consider myself blessed to have it in my collection, and consider it a soundtrack to my life from 1993-1997. God bless you, Extreme.
I’m 15 and incredibly grateful that my dad raised me listening to Extreme’s music. Still love it as much as I did when I first heard these 3 songs over 10 years ago.
I was a 12 year old kid when I randomly picked up this album because I liked more than words. I listened to every track and loved the whole album! I was trying to find the warheads song that my mom used to blast in the mornings to wake us up and I happened to see this song and start listening to this track. Memories came flooding back and I knew most of the lyrics and notes. I sat here for the full 22 minutes while my ice cream melted because I had to hear the entire thing. It was really touching and means more to me now at close to 40. What a real work of genius this mishmash of music is. It was really fun for me to see that so many other people really appreciated this album. It was integral to my childhood.
When this album first came out there were a few songs that just caught my attention right off the bat. It wasn't until a few years later that I really listened to this album entirely. Such a great piece of art, just amazing. This piece of 3 songs really spoke to me though. I was so deep in my addiction and felt every lyric of these songs. It hurt to listen because it was exactly how I felt. All alone, who cares, am I ever going to change. All of it was my life. A huge f**king mess! That was 1997. Here I am in 2020 still loving every inch of this amazing album as if it just came out. Simply amazing! Oh yeah, I got clean Dec 1997. Still clean today 9/18/20. Thank you God!
Did this album actually help you to get clean? I would believe it. Especially if it stuck this long afterwards, that often can happen when some big stimulus inspired the chance.
I would hope this was the material and album they WANTED to make. I know if I was apart of this project I would be supremely proud of every aspect. I think it came out at a time when it wasn’t truly appreciated- it was the beginning stages of the “Nirvana era” and this kind of musical prowess was frowned upon by the people who thought ANY level of creativity should have been recognized. It was time when the spirit of Punk was a reoccurring phase - the “DIY musician” . However, this production and level of writing had few peers at that time. All things considered, this album is a masterpiece
3 sides was my favorite Extreme album. Me and my dad used to just jump in the car, put it on, and drive around town for absolutely no destination in mind. Miss him so much. But I'm so glad my husband likes random road trips too. 🥰
Who's listening to begin the roarin' '20s? A new decade and this masterpiece is still one of the best musical compositions ever in music history. Pure brilliance. III Sides is still one of my top 5 albums of all time!
A 22-minute masterpiece. Story telling and story building at its finest, finessed with some of the best guitar, drums and orchestral arrangement you'll ever hear. And the message within is as powerful as the melody. Perfection.
I audibly gasped when I heard the winding of that music box. Instantly transported to the Saturday I bought this in early October 1992. The summer Arkansas heat was finally starting to break. I was driving on my learner’s permit with Mom in the passenger seat and we were passing the now-gone blue-painted shopping center. I mourn that carefree version of life.
One of the most under-rated talented groups of all time. They got popular for a song that did not represent the band as a whole. III Sides was a work of art. Especially these 3 songs... Hope to see them with another new album soon and get some much deserved publicity again.
It's 2019, and I'm still listening to this. It's a masterpiece album, and III sides is one of the best, to me it's better than the pornograffitti album. I'm a great fan of extreme and will always be since the rise of their band, I think it's the early 90's. I've bought each and every of their albums in tape cassettes, CD's and a few collection of their live video tape. At that time it were tho only things that I' d listen. Extreme and nothing else. And God! I'm so obsessed with Nuno and his guitar skill, his musicality. The best underrated guitar player in the world to me. Nuno Bettencourt is always in the same rank as Eddie Van Halen, Steve Vai, Paul Gilbert, Randy Rhoads, and many more to mention.
Excellent stuff after all these years. Basically it's the ultimate guitar lesson in 22 minutes. Acoustic stuff, rhythm guitar, soloing, effects. It's all there, and all in the name of the Song. Not only the acrobatics.

Gary has the great gift to write very good songs, especially songs with a christian message, that´s what I appreciate and i like the contrast between his rocking voice and Nunos soft voice. The four Fantastics belong together.
if it has a Christian message or not it's a great and amazing piece of music! I'm a non believer and I don't care. If it sounds good I'll listen to it. Love and respect my friends.
I'm really all of the heartfelt comments about how this album and this trilogy especially has affected them and continues to bring them back. I couldn't agree more. It made an impression on me as well.
listening to this in 2019. thank you for uploading this. i once had the cassette and the CD! now i'm 36 years old remembering reading the lyrics word by word and totally in awe of their song writing skill.
Once more I am moving on, and I find myself listening to this to keep the chaos aside. This song is always there to listen and to remind me where I come from and where I am going.
I love that this video has absolutely no dislikes. It's a masterpiece. And then people that have watched this are obviously thinking the same thing. Thanks guys, this video should NEVER have any dislikes.
It took me quite a while to get used to this song now I can fully appreciate it, although I have to say "Am I Ever Gonna Chage" has the most significant meaning to me :)... I love Extreme
This 3 song set changed me drastically in terms of the music I appreciated (I only liked “heavy” stuff before this which features a full orchestra!) and my philosophical views way back in 10th grade!
This may very well be the last of the rock genre masterpieces. Truly inspirational, musically accomplished, 23-minutes of thrills and soothing moments. Thanks Extreme, for my favorite album of the 90’s!
There are still masterpieces being made by symphonic metal bands. Ghost Love Score by Nightwish came out in 2004 and is incredible. th-cam.com/video/47e_961OQWE/w-d-xo.html If Extreme had been fronted by a woman, this would be considered one of the first symphonic metal songs.
One of the best Rock Ballads & Copositions written by Extreme. It's a long listen but worth it. Listened to this on my Dads B&O HiFi when i was 17 years of age. It Blew my mind 😎 both lyrics, music and the message.
I'm in my late 40s now. This album, Brian May "Back to the Light," and a whole lot of prayer (mine and others) got me through a rough patch of life around 19-20. If you're going through tough times, and you're not sure how you'll get through it, just make sure to rise (and shine when possible) with each new day.
Unfortunately this album was unknown among the masses. Definently an amazing piece! God I miss talent and creativity these days! I can hear influences of so many greats that came before them in this movement.... Beach boys,, classical composers, but extreme always add the hard Rock feel to it. And then there is Nuno... God damn that mother f-er can play. I think it's cool he toured with Rhiana too. Go check that stuff out.
This collection of music opened my eyes to so many more possibilities as far as what music can do. I cannot express the impact it has had on me. I've bought this on cassette twice and now on CD once. It is a masterpiece.
This is what you call a masterpiece. People need to listen to this. It takes you on a journey. EXTREME ROCKS!!! I: Rise An Shine 0:17 II: Am I Ever Gonna Change 6:42 III: Who Cares? 13:37
I think I was 3 when this came out. Thankfully, my dad got me into Extreme when I was a kid. Extreme, Guns n' Roses, and comic books are some of the greatest things my dad got me into. This (3-part) song STILL gives me chills.
In my opinion the best song(s) ever, just timeless and beautiful, after all those years still can't decide wich part I like most.... Always the one I hear at the moment
Totally its about self transformation and recognition and as a kid in the 80's its beautiful and eloquent for a band being pimped by mtv at that time. If we pay attention its what we all should realize that reinvention comes when you look at yourself in the eye.
Uważam, że III Sides... to ich najlepszy album. Wychowałem się na tym, na tym uczyłem się grać na gitarze i choć gitara od wieków w futerale, to te kawałki na rękę wchodzą same. Greatest album ever!!! Best songs ever!!! Nuno is the greatest guitar player of all times!!! He is awesome... EXTREME
A great band from Massachusetts.. Forever in the days of ...Music as it touches us in the soundscapes of our lives.. An angry man questions his being, being in love again as she enters from the east a need in deed,
Dream, Daniel dream of what's yet to come! See Daniel, see for everything's under the sun! So many biblical references in a gorgeous tapestry of layering, crescendo, instruments and passion. This album was the first album outside of anything I had heard by Queen (or other great prog bands) that had made me weep. This album also had great tracks like God Isn't Dead, Seven Sundays and Peacemaker Die. Clearly Extreme was influenced by The Beatles, Queen and other great British Bands. But the thing that really sets them apart is their amazingly deep and referential lyrics. Extreme is to Melville what Cat Stevens was to Hemingway. Try that on for size. Merry Christmas!
The setup of the "three sides" is amazing. Each section is different, thematically AND musically, and, when all put together, tells a story. Absolutely amazing album, and probably my favorite album of all time, by ANY band.
I too found the whole album to be very influential on my musical tastes and very few bands have ever really lived up to the overall quality of III Sides. I think that the 3 sections (Rock, Ballads and Orchestra) took some chances that may not have been fully appreciated until it had time to age. The effort put into this record shows and since most of the topics covered weren't specific to the time it gives the album a timeless quality. This is also the first time I heard Mandellas I have a dream speech which intrigued me enough to look into the speech from Peacemaker die. I always suggest this album to anyone with even marginal interests in alt/prog rock and I find myself in pawn shops buying the CD over and over again since I seem to outplay the disc. I'm so happy to find so many agree with me but even if they didn't I would defend these songs on this video and the entire album till my last breath. Rock on!
I bought 3 Sides... expecting maybe a more full on experience such as Porno... but as a Christian man I must say I am so pleased by this album, as they capture the whole experience with relationship with God so well! Both seeking and finding! :)
Someone told me years ago that I needed to check out Extreme, and this was the album... you all know what happened next. The songs that really stuck out to me were: Seven Sunday’s, God Isn’t Dead, and this beautiful trio. My ignorance at the time tried to connect some deep religious construct, but now that I’m older I realize this is a cry to society in general and recognizing that we STILL don’t understand the concept of humanity apart from monetary gain... it’s no wonder people snap and kill others and themselves out of disdain for an ideal that encourages competition and savagery over cooperation and empathy. “Rise and shine”... But who cares? Right? Are we ever gonna change? Be the change you want to see... don’t give up, or give in... if you find yourself struggling against a religious institution or a seemingly false pro humanity ideal, you are not alone.

THE ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECE ..
I love that this video has absolutely no dislikes. It's a masterpiece. And then people that have watched this are obviously thinking the same thing. Thanks guys, this video should NEVER have any dislikes.
Love this album in its entirety.
Great concept album.
Extreme Forever!!!
To God Almighty the highest power. Jehovah.
Est-ce que l'on peut appeler ce morceau un chef-d'oeuvre ?
1000 fois oui.😍😍😍😍😍😍
It's funny to see that I "liked" all of these comments a few years ago. Great taste in tunes, amigos...

If Extreme had been fronted by a woman, this would be considered one of the first symphonic metal songs.
One of the best Rock Ballads & Copositions written by Extreme.
It's a long listen but worth it. Listened to this on my Dads B&O HiFi
when i was 17 years of age. It Blew my mind 😎 both lyrics, music and the message.
I'm in my late 40s now. This album, Brian May "Back to the Light," and a whole lot of prayer (mine and others) got me through a rough patch of life around 19-20. If you're going through tough times, and you're not sure how you'll get through it, just make sure to rise (and shine when possible) with each new day.
these dudes are musical geniuses
This is Extreme's magnum opus. It's their "Bohemian Rhapsody."
The most underrated album ever released. Phenomenal.
3rd epic part of a masterpiece album. thank you Extreme for this gift
This collection of music opened my eyes to so many more possibilities as far as what music can do. I cannot express the impact it has had on me. I've bought this on cassette twice and now on CD once. It is a masterpiece.
Me and Sue used to love to sing these three. Miss her. Gone too soon.
This is what you call a masterpiece. People need to listen to this. It takes you on a journey. EXTREME ROCKS!!!
I: Rise An Shine 0:17
II: Am I Ever Gonna Change 6:42
III: Who Cares? 13:37
HOLY CRAP this is 23 years old?!?!? Sounds brand freakin' new! o.O
I think I was 3 when this came out. Thankfully, my dad got me into Extreme when I was a kid. Extreme, Guns n' Roses, and comic books are some of the greatest things my dad got me into. This (3-part) song STILL gives me chills.
This album came out when I was in 7th grade and has been addicted to it ever since. Three Sides To Every Story is the best rock album ever for me.
because IT IS TIMELESS!!!
28!
In my opinion the best song(s) ever, just timeless and beautiful, after all those years still can't decide wich part I like most....
Always the one I hear at the moment
One of my favorite CD's they put out!
the soundtrack of my youth and my whole life!
Same here! Epic album. The best.
best modern rock composition ever
MASTERPIECE !!!
Totally its about self transformation and recognition and as a kid in the 80's its beautiful and eloquent for a band being pimped by mtv at that time. If we pay attention its what we all should realize that reinvention comes when you look at yourself in the eye.
One of the best album ever made. A true masterpiece !!
Still listening in 2020! And still loving it!
Amazing 🤩🤘👋
Nuno is a musical God....
1992. Listening to this and a colleague telling me I was dumb as shit for being into it. 2020. Still listening to it.
I'm here again...for 20 minutes of damn near perfection.
Forever in the days of ...Music as it touches us in
the soundscapes of our lives.. An angry man questions his being,
being in love again as she enters from the east a need in deed,
This is what happens when a band outgrows it's audience.
Nail on the head
Spot on...
Well said. Spot on
Got this album as cassette in my teens, didn't listen to it in the last 20+ years, but still remember every bit.
Outstanding my friend.. merry Christmas to you too 🖤
Merry christmas 2023
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Musically, this is by far their best work. Too bad that they never got enough credit for it.
Rock on!
Very true, I stand corrected
More is all you need I hope you're not American if it took Peacemaker Die to make you aware of MLK.
I'm Canadian in fact
It's something not as deeply covered in our education system, and I was 9 when i first heard the song
The I have a dream speech is Martin Luther King
The most underrated album ever.
This was the fist album I ever bought, was about 13, obsessed over Nuno's playing
Todays kids don't get to listen to this..
Explains a lot about todays generation.
