I took off the front panel and added white and red stripes to mine and seeing you play with the footswitch made me think I'll stripe the hell out of that too while I'm at it!
I just finished painting the footswich and did a Van Halen tribute pedal board to go along with it! I'll be showing it off on my channel soon! I put a 5150 evh guitar on reserve but now they are saying it might not get here till NOV. so I ordered a banana neck and that has still yet to arrive.I've bought an esp/ltd strat with a cheap floyd rose special trem to start making my own frankenstrat .Can't wait to start on that!
I just got one of these, and it ruined my other amps for me. I have no reason to plug into them anymore. Damn these EVH amps sound great, and I love the 6L6's
Hey I figured something out with my evh 5150 and it had to do with the way they run some of the wires to ground causing the hiss on CH2 and CH3 if u have a good tech they can put better filter caps with higher voltage ratings in along with switching the ground loop to a better position and it removed 90% of the hiss for around $120 service.
Sick dude! I got mine with the matching 1 x 12 like 11 days ago. You got me beat by 6 days lol. Good thing you got the version 2 model with the independent volume and gains. Very useful. Only con about this amp is the power and standby is in back and the resonance knob. I mean thebknob is not as much of a issue being in back for me. How you liking it so far?
I just got one a couple months ago with the 2x12 cab and I love it. 50 watts is a hell of a lot louder than I thought. I don't think anyone really needs 100 watts unless they're playing a stadium or something.
I’m loving it. Got a BOSS reverb pedal for the spring reverb sound and just mostly stay on the first two channels. I’m still trying to decide on the cab but I know I want two 12’s preferably upright configuration.
Are you playing live regularly? Or are you jamming more with a band and recording? If you're playing live, Kemper! More versatility, and better sound being able to go straight into a front of house board. For a jam band or recording, nothing beats a power tube driven amplifier! Just my two cents, hope that helps. Also, why Kemper if I may ask? There's better options for less money. I've played live for years with Marshall amps, but then made the switch to a Headrush, and couldn't be happier. For the money, the Headrush does EVERYTHING a live musician could want, and then some. Still use my Marshall's for practices or whatever, nothing beats a tube amp. But for convenience and ease of use for different effects, rigs, etc., high end modelers are DOPE!
@@BagusWibisono well, if you're looking for one thing that can do ONE THING very well, a good tube amp. But if you're looking for something that can do a lot of things decently, a modeler. Example: if I wanted to play a show or record nothing but dirty channels, and amazing distortion, it'd be my Marshall 2555X. But if I wanted to be able to have different options and switch between a crunch, distortion, and clean while throwing effects in and out, Headrush! So if you want something that can do both live and recording, go with a unit. If I take my Headrush to a recording session, I can access hundreds of amp, mic, and cabinet combinations that would never be possible without dropping tens of thousands of dollars on analog gear. Heres the real secret.... do you think that live or in a recording, anybody would be able to tell the difference? Absolutely not! But man it's really up to you, this is just my advice, I just ultimately love spreading my advice and experiences. But keep in mind that Ive known people that have spent tons of money on Kemper, Headrsuh, Helix, etc., and been like "meh, I'll just use my real amp", and then that shit ends up collecting dust while their real amps get beat to shit! Lol
The only experience I’ve had with the Kemper is in the studio and they sound fantastic, I’m just old school and set in my ways with tube amps, I do prefer combo amps though just for ease of transport. I’ve been using s Marshall Jubilee combo recently and I’m really digging it. Just 20 watts but more than adequate. Still like the EVH too
@@dizzyastr989 My solution without compromising on either side. I have got my killer full-tube Peavey Amp that I like, which provides me the amazing base clean/crunch/high gain sound with all those sparkles that one expects from a tube Amp. My pedal bord has only things like WahWah, equalizer, clean boost, TS9 to shape the sound to some extent. I have ONE unit, TC Electronic G Major 2, in the effect loop which provides ALL those fancy effects like delay, pitch shifter, compression, flanger, etc.
Just got this out of the box, I can only get channel 2 to work, im not getting any sound out of 1 or 3. Im not savvy with this stuff so but I cant seem to figure out what is up at all! I'm very frustrated, do you know why this might be?
All I know to tell you is to make sure that the volume and gain knobs are not turned all way down, if that’s not it then maybe the amp is faulty. I hope you get it figured out though
Still like the amp, I did recently get a Marshall mini jubilee combo just for the ease of transport because we mostly have been playing festivals so I can get in and out much quicker. I still think the evh is a great amp it’s just a little much in terms of size (amp+cabinet) and power. The Marshall is 20 watts and is more than adequate
Alexander Barnes hmmm, not sure but I don’t run the delay through the loop anymore it’s on my pedal board and I have a reverb through the loop now and it definitely only made that sound with the delay
Great demo. Been thinking of getting one of these. Quick question. What's it like switching channels whilst playing (going from rhythm to lead for example)? I mean does it change channels seamlessly? My old Randall used to have a short but very noticeable delay between switching channels (like a 20ms delay of silence between switching channels). Hoping this amp doesn't have that issue
I took off the front panel and added white and red stripes to mine and seeing you play with the footswitch made me think I'll stripe the hell out of that too while I'm at it!
I'd love to get a Jeep Gladiator and Van Halen stripe that up too and add a big Van Halen logo on it!
