Martin Nievera version is still the best. Martin's vocal range may not be as high as Jed but He (Martin) sings with class, be it his normal voice, falsetto or using high notes yet soft head toning still soothing to the ear. Jed Madela sings like a woman. Minsan sobrang taas ng range hindi rin relaxing pakinggan.
I'll have to check out Martin's version. Recently, Jed was singing on ASAP while I was in another room and I thought it was a woman. But that's okay, I like women singers. Jed is a tenor, and probably could have been an opera singer, but he can also do rock, as he did on the Queen themed extended segment on ASAP a couple years ago with Jona. Speaking of Jona, she did my favorite version of this song on Live @ Sessions on NET 25.
Definitely he is gifted but the rendition is over the top. It tends to be scary and irritating. Maybe a note lower. High notes tend to make the listener not to appreciate the song and the melody.
