Gotta love the Assault Style Shoelace. so much fun, so deadly, I have to limit myself to about 60lb of rocks per day, maybe 80 or risk having to take a week off inbetween desperately desired shooting times. Am currently working on my 40-60 yd practice, and the occasional long distance across the dam at the boulder underhands, gotta be about 240-260 yds out there, but man, getting it to land after 8 seconds flight withing 10 feet is worth doin a jig. ROCK on dude!
One of the things I love about slings (other than the fact that they're super cheap and easy to make), is that you can just stuff one in your pocket. Went to the beach earlier today. There were too many people this time. But if there wasn't, I would've been slinging.
The figure 8 throw is a great technique with a good combination of power and accuracy, for indoor training cork is safe we also paint our stones so we can find them easily
it really helps to throw heavier rocks. and my sling has a whip cracker on it, it helps to get the timing because you can hear when you throw correctly.
