Thank you very much darnoldie for the kind words. Glad I didn't really bang them being on film and everything. It did couple real smooth. We really appreciate your checking out the video. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
"Old Equipment." Nah, she's got personality (and an attitude.) Here you are doing the things that I could only dream of doing since I was a kid, playing with the "big boy trains." Good on ya shipmate.
Thank you very much Robert for the kind words. We certainly do appreciate your visiting with us and helping switch our locomotives around today. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
Dave takes me on his Hi Rail, explains conveyor belt gates and mining operations and now takes me on a power unit. Thanks for taking me along again Dave!
Thank you very much Maiden's World of Wax for the nice comment and for taking the time to help us do some loco switching. Glad you are having a good time with us. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
It's amazing how far locomotives have come, they originally only pulled a few tons and now they are humongous machines capable of hauling thousands of tons.

Thank you very much Pappy for the kind words. Doing a bunch of different things is nice, and challenging, but I like the variety. We certainly do appreciate your taking the time to ride along with us and write in. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
I get to do a lot of different things around here Richard, this is one of the fun things. Very much appreciate your helping do some switching. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
Well, that brought back some memories of me running GP-35's, GP-38-2's, and GP-40's back in the 80's switching in the yards here in Akron Ohio. Very cool. Thanks! :)
Thank you very much Bryan for the nice comment and for taking the time to help us do some loco switching. Too bad you couldn't have been there and teach me a thing or two. Not much difference in the control stand on the GP and SD's . May you have a most blessed day my friend.
Dave, your model layout is much more detailed than the one I had before the divorce. The realism is so much more detailed. Thank you for the excellent video.
Your quite welcome Ray. Glad you had a good time. We certainly do appreciate your taking the time to ride along with us and write in. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
I started out working for the railroad in the mechanical dept. A Though there were usually a few qualified engineers in the yard or in the engine house, I pretty much begged to get a chance to move a locomotive out of the shop. I’ve operated just about any kind of equipment you could name, but the biggest thrill ever was the first time I got to move a locomotive by myself! That was a dream I’d had since I was a young boy. Eventually, I passed the test on NORAC rules and became qualified as a conductor, and eventually qualified as an engineer. My grandfather was a brakeman on the New Haven Railroad, I wished he could have seen me as an engineer.
Awesome Bill, thank you so much for sharing that neat story with us. I would have loved talking with your grand father. Always is a pleasure to have you pay us a visit and hear from you. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
They let you drive? How cool. I used to love hostling engines in the motor pit. Used to side by side drag race GG1's with other fireman. Yeh, give a 19 year old an engine and it just turns into a very big toy.
Thank you very much John for the nice comment. I get to do a lot of different things here, which is nice, I like variety. We appreciate your taking the time to watch and write in. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
Hi Dave - Thanks for letting us share the experience of observing this engine movement from the engineer's seat, and finally after a long period of time telling us what the source of the "Chirping" sound was. Until then I was thinking "oh crap, I think I have another smoke alarm battery in the house that needs changed!!" 🙂 Truly "Just Railroading" - an endless list of unexpected tasks to do every day it seems!! Take Care, stay safe and well!!
Your very welcome Charles. Glad you had a good time. We certainly do appreciate your taking the time to ride along with us and write in. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
Dave, you work all day fixing track, a job you truly love and show all of us, it's always the icing on the cake reward to get to play with the toys before Christmas 🙂🎄. Richard Bause 😄👍
Thank you very much Richard for the nice comment and for taking the time to help us switch our locos around. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
Dave so you got”volunteered “ to move the engine, what a day! wonderful experience, I hope that they were able to sync up the other engines to operate the line hauling coal. such a nice video, good to see things operating, just keep it moving back and forth getting the coal loaded and dumped! good luck recharging the fire suppression system. we have a huge CO2 suppression on the line on site. great video, always learn something new!
Hay Dave: hope all is well, it is neat seeing a full scale train being run from the ground! when CSX GP-38-2 has radio control set up an it is just like a model railroad, just a whole lot bigger! that was neat seeing at the throttle, it is intimidating moving all that mass of an engine. keeping it nice and slow, and safe. the cars and engines roll easy once rolling. good seeing you doing what you do best! barry
Thank you very much Barry for the nice comment and for taking the time to help us do some loco switching. We have a company come in, Ansel? who recharges the FS system. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
Thank you very much Ronald. Glad you had a good time. We certainly do appreciate your taking the time to ride along and write in. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
Thank you very much Barry for the kind words. Glad you had a good time. We certainly do appreciate your taking the time to ride along with us and write in. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
Thank you very much Tom for the really kind words. so glad to hear you enjoyed. We do appreciate your taking the time to visit with us and check out the video. May you have a most blessed and prosperous day my friend.
This video reminds me of when I was a kid spending the weekends at my Grandparents house. They lived right next to a cement company. And at night in bed Id listen to the switcher moving hopper cars until I'd fall asleep.
Thank you very much James for the nice comment and for taking the time to help us do some loco switching. What a great sound to fall asleep to! May you have a most blessed day my friend.
Thank you very much Joe for the really kind words. Glad you had a good time with us today. We do appreciate your taking the time to visit with us and check out the video. May you have a most blessed and prosperous day my friend.
Great video Dave! I love the interior of older diesel locomotives - the older the better. The utilitarianism look of them is quite appealing. Driving an older diesel locomotive is #1 on my bucket list, you are one lucky man Dave 😊
Thank you very much Mojo for the kind words. Pleased to hear you had a good time riding along with us. We appreciate your taking the time to watch. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
Enjoyed this Dave. My grandfather was a UP telegrapher then station manager until he retired long ago, and passed away long ago also. But this half a century old “big kid” still remembers the day he asked a crew if they could stop just outside of town and let his grandson (me) up in the cab. The engineer let me notch her up to 3 as I recall to finish pulling into town. And of course taught me the whistle at the grade crossings. No chance anyone could pull that off today, but remember it like it was yesterday. Cheers, sir. Nice coupling too!
Thank you Nate for the very nice comment. I would have loved talking with your grandfather. Great memories for sure, how lucky for a kid to be able to do that. Really appreciate your dropping in on us and checking out the video. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
I’ve worked on two railroads, never seen a guy responsible for so much, and being trusted with so much, these responsibilities are not handed out Willy Nilly. Great stuff Dave. Thanx!
Thank you for the very kind words, yes I am responsible for a large variety of things here, but I love it. Appreciate your dropping by to check out the video my friend.
Glad you had a good time Bradley. We certainly do appreciate your taking the time to ride along with us and write in. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
Thank you very much Beverly for the kind words. Glad you had a good time. We certainly do appreciate your taking the time to ride along and write in. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
Fascinating video and a great feeling of the power and mass of the locomotive. My appreciation for the risk and pressures running a big freight at speed has increased dramatically. Kinetic energy is all powerful and must be obeyed. Enjoyed this, thank you, take care and stay safe.
Your very welcome EJ. Pleased to hear you had a good time riding along with us. We appreciate your taking the time to watch. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
Thank you very much Big Moose for the kind words and for taking the time to help us switch our locos around. Just glad I didn't bang them around while on tape! LOL May you have a most blessed day my friend.
Thank you very much Collieman. Glad you had a good time. We certainly do appreciate your taking the time to ride along with us and write in. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
Glad you enjoyed the show William. We certainly do appreciate your taking the time to visit with us and write in. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
Wow! I didn't even notice that you were moving! Thanks for sharing this interesting ride-along. Everybody should become familiar with railroad operations because railroads are everywhere.
Thank you Johnathan for the very nice comment. Pleased to hear you had a good time riding along with us. We appreciate your taking the time to watch. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
I love to be able to see the goings-on in the cab of a locomotive :) An odd issue with the PCS, but as you said - older equipment presents unique challenges. When I was a kid, I wanted to be an engineer. Well, I became an engineer, just not a railroad engineer :) I can see I would have enjoyed it very much! Thank you for these inside the cab views :)
Your very welcome Brian. Pleased to hear you had a good time riding along with us. When I was a kid I wanted to play Major League Baseball.... closest I ever came to that was Church League Softball.... :-) We appreciate your taking the time to watch and write in. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
Thank you very much John. Glad you had a good time with us. We certainly do appreciate your taking the time to visit with us and write in. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
Man oh man to have had only a 5 foot countdown that couple was spot on..... you pass the coffee cup test ( have your coffee on the stand if you don't spill a drop you pass).
Thank you Jason for the kind comment. Many folks have written in saying about me being an engineer. But every time I tell them I'm not an engineer, we have operators here who got their job because it was a bid job and had seniority. Engineers go thru extensive training and are certified. Out of respect for guys like you who have earned their certification and understand train handling I will never call these guys or myself an engineer.
Thank you very much Ken. Pleased to hear you had a good time riding along with us. We appreciate your taking the time to watch and write in. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
I grew up in an industrial area that was full of melon packing sheds. They operated all night long when the night heat would ripen the fruit and create "The Snow". Midnight, 1am, I would hear the engines softly whine up as cars were moved back and forth. My buddy would precool the packed melons by shaving and blowing 325# blocks of ice over the boxes that were stacked and braced in the refrigeration cars. When a long string of cars was made up, the engine would ram the string and I would hear the clunk clunk travel across town as the couplings snugged up. When the engine started to pull away, the play in the couplings would reverse and we'd see the first cars moving while the rear cars stood still. Clunk clunk they'd get pulled tight and then they would roll away (with the caboose in the back...1960's, Mendota California.
Thank you very much for sharing the story obsolete professor. What a great sound that must have been to a young un back then. We certainly do appreciate your taking the time to ride along with us. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
Yes I do JJ, railroading is the central preoccupation of my life. I am so blessed to be able to do this. Thank you so very much for taking the time to visit with us and check out the video my friend.
Didn’t know you drove the rigs, too! Awesome. More Dave at the controls !!! 😂 can definitely feel your excitement, I love how it has the clipboard for train orders! shows the age of the locomotive. These are oldies but goodies.
Thank you Tony for the nice comment, glad you enjoyed the show. Really appreciate your visiting with us and checking out the video. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
AWESOME presentation Dave. Loved watching this video. I could actually watch it over and over and over again. Have a great rest of your evening.(Steve)
Thank you Steve for the very nice comment. Feel free to watch as many times as you like....LOL You know as well as anyone what a treat it is for MOW to get to ride/drive a loco once in awhile. May you have a most blessed day my good friend.
Your very welcome Raymond. At least I didn't bang the heck out of those cars coupling.... :-) We certainly do appreciate your taking the time to ride along with us and write in. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
You are certainly welcome Paul, glad you enjoyed the show. We very much appreciate your taking the time to visit with us and check out the video. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
I just love your videos, lots of folks do videos of trains, but you do videos of all tne interesting behind the scenes railroad activities. I have learned so much about railroading from your videos
Thank you very much IYAAYAS for the really kind words. We do appreciate your taking the time to visit with us and check out the video. May you have a most blessed and prosperous day my friend.
Every do often I run across a video I haven't seen this was one of them. Great video. You always show stuff that others are oftentimes not allowed to show. What a blessing that is. Take care. Go bless
Thank you for the nice comment Clark and glad you enjoyed. I've been wanting to make this video for a couple of years and finally got the chance to do it. Really appreciate your visiting with us to check out the video and may you have a very good day my friend.
Thank you very much Dave. Glad you had a good time. We certainly do appreciate your taking the time to ride along with us. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
Well, that brought back some fond memories of working in the back shops... Railroading is always fun & games... Someday I'll have to tell you about that one time doing a load test...
Very glad you had a good time and it brought back some memories Thomas. We certainly do appreciate your taking the time to ride along with us and write in. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
In case you didn’t realize it, you can make a 20 - 25 PSI set on the independent brake and the alerter can still put it in penalty. Make a full set on the independent and that should knock the alerter out of the picture until the brakes are released again. I noticed the one time that you only made about a 20 PSI set! 😬
No I did not realize that Ralfie. I had the reverser in neutral and thought that would knock the sentry system out, guess I found out something new again tonight from you! Keep those comment coming my friend. Always is a pleasure to have you visit with us.
@@ccrx6700 If the isolation switch is in “RUN”, and the generator field switch is up, the alerter can put it in penalty, even if the reverser is centered. I’ve had the alerter initiate a penalty application with a 10 - 20 LB set on the independent quite a few times, but it won’t if you fully apply the brakes. Its more noticeable on units with double clasping (switching) brakes than on one with road brakes. Double clasping is just what it sounds like, each wheel has two brake shoes on it, one on each side, front and rear of the wheel and the maximum independent brake pressure you’ll see on the brake cylinder gauge is around 42 PSI. Road brakes have only one brake shoe per wheel and their maximum operating pressure is 72 PSI. We don’t have the dead man pedals anymore either, that’s what the alerter is for. People tend to put things like a spare knuckle pin on those pedals to defeat the system, you can’t defeat the alerter when the locomotive is running down the track. It will always apply the train brakes if you don’t acknowledge it when it starts yapping and flashing that red light at you. In case you’re wondering, I test locomotive systems and load test them when they come out of the shop after repairs and FRA inspections. I do multiple air brake tests daily, and the alerter is one thing I have to make sure initiates a penalty application of the brakes. Always like to help you out when I see you have some sort of issue or small problem going on. Be safe out there Dave and I’ll continue watching and commenting!
Thank you very much Wilbur for the really kind words. it's easy, you could do it. I'd have you running loco in no time. We do appreciate your taking the time to visit with us and check out the video. May you have a most blessed and prosperous day my friend.
Thank you Eric for the very nice comment, glad you enjoyed. Really appreciate your dropping in on us and checking out the video. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
Fireman's Lament They don't let me drive the train, blow the whistle nor ring the bell. But let the darn thing jump the track and see who catches hell. Dave gets to drive the loco. I'm impressed!
I get to blow the horn too....LOL Glad you had a good time Clarence We certainly do appreciate your taking the time to ride along and write in. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
Thank you Ed for the really nice comment. So glad you enjoyed. We really appreciate your taking the time to visit with us tonight and write in my friend.
That was really cool..like being in the cab with you during a normal day of work. Making it even better than a, this lever does this, and that knob does that, show and tell video. Awesome stuff Dave! Thank you! 🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃💯👍🇺🇸
Your very welcome Jim. Pleased to hear you had a good time riding along with us. We appreciate your taking the time to watch. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
Dave, you REALLY have a GREAT channel! Such unique content! WOW... You get to drive the locomotives and blow the whistle! No wonder you're always so excited about your job! Thanks for the video!
Thank you very much JBill Granddaddy for the really kind words. We do appreciate your taking the time to visit with us and check out the video. May you have a most blessed and prosperous day my friend.
Once again Dave speaks to his equipment to get it to start. A few kind words and it starts because if you yell at it guaranteed it won't start. Of course sometimes the troubleshooting doesn't go that well or that fast. The basic Simplicity of an EMD control stand carrys through to this day and seasoned veterans just prefer them. Of course the reassuring sound of the air pressure in the cab rounds out the checklist. With your smooth as silk operating skills you'd do well in passenger service. Diesel doctor.Dave successfully treats another patient
Thank you very much Paul for the nice comment. I have to talk to my wife nice to get her started, so I have a lot of practice in that! LOL Don't know bout the diesel doctor, I'm much better at operating than diagnosing gremlins. We appreciate your taking the time to watch and write in. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
Thank you very much Ralph, glad you enjoyed. Appreciate your taking the time to help us do some loco switching. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
Another really great train video Dave. That's really cool getting to see the inside of an engine. You did a good job running it you must have had some practice at that before. They are lucky to have you as you seem to have an awful lot of talent around trains and track up keep.
Thank you very much William for the nice words. Glad you had a good time. We certainly do appreciate your taking the time to ride along with us. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
I get to do a lot of different things around here Super Hiro, this is one of the more fun things. Very much appreciate your helping do some switching. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
Thank you Tommy for the very kind words. We certainly do appreciate your visiting with us and checking out the video. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
Nice job on the move. I thought that the carbon monoxide detector needed a battery, then I looked at my sheet I saw that I installed a fresh battery on 02/09/2023. I log things like this in the house, plus inspect the fire extinquishers on each level of the house.
Thank you Gary for the kind words. Pleased to hear you had a good time riding along with us. You just reminded me to check the extinguishers in home! May you have a most blessed day my friend.
Been watching a few of your videos and have to say that it appears that you’ve been doing this for a while. I admire your excitement in your posts and the common sense way you explain them. I also grew up in SW Pa and it’s cool to see you run thru some towns from long ago. Keep it up, be safe, and greetings from NH!
Thank youJim for the very nice comment, glad you are enjoying the home movies. Really appreciate your dropping in on us today and checking out the video. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
This was an interesting video. I’m a UPS Feeder driver. I go to the CSX and Norfolk Southern Intermodal yards regularly to retrieve trailers. I love watching the switching, the coupling and uncoupling, the fueling of locomotives, and the goings on of the yard. I really enjoy your videos. Thank you for sharing.
You are certainly welcome Peter, glad you enjoyed. Really appreciate your taking the time to visit with us and watch the video. May you have a most blessed day my friend and be careful out there on them roads, truck driving is a hard job to do.

It is pretty cool job Dan, I get to do a lot of different things. Always is a treat to run the loco around, even if it's just for a short spin around the block. Very much appreciate your nice comment and for riding along with us tonight my friend.
Thank you Mustraline for the very nice comment, glad you enjoyed. Really appreciate your dropping in on us and checking out the video. May you have a most blessed day my friend.

Your very welcome Matt. Pleased to hear you had a good time riding along with us. We appreciate your taking the time to watch. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
One way of smooth coupling used is applying a small amount of loco brakes and pushing towards the car. It works on our rail cars, diesel locos and on the steam locos as well. Too soft and the coupling doesn't lock... I've done that a few times... As always, a pleasure to watch Your videos.
Your right about that Stefan, too soft and often it doesn't couple. glad I didn't make a fool of myself and really bang those cars tho! Thanks so much for visiting with us my friend.
Thank you very much Andrew for the really kind comment. Glad you are having a good time with us. We certainly do appreciate your taking the time to ride along and write in. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
Will have a video out sometime soon that explains all about PCS Derek. Hope you will watch for it. Locomotive in PCS Fault. Really appreciate your visiting with us and watching my friend.

Thank you Maurus for the kind words, glad you enjoyed. Really appreciate your taking the time to visit with us and watch the video. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
You read my mind about applying the handbrake on the locomotive. Let's see, there's the "Dryer Monster" that eats socks, the "Turret Monster" of a tank that eats anything, now you have the "Long Hood Monster" causing faults in the locomotive.
Glad you had a good time with us Dr. Mastare. Little monsters and gemlins everywhere..... :-) We certainly do appreciate your taking the time to visit with us and write in. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
Thank you Rick for the compliment, however please don't call me an engineer. Engineers go thru extensive training and testing and are certified. Here, all our train drivers are bid jobs and are not certified. So out of respect for all the real engineers, that is why I call our drivers operators. Just wanted you to know that info about our operation. It is pretty cool job and i do get to do a lot of different things which makes it pretty interesting. Always is a pleasure to have you visit with us and hear from you my friend.
Thank you very much Paul for the nice comment. I do get to do a lot of variety here, it's nice. Pleased to hear you had a good time riding along with us. We appreciate your stopping by to watch . May you have a most blessed day my friend.
That was exciting. You did good running that locomotive. When you shut that engine down. With everything else we always flipped the generator field switch to off. Cool video 👍❤️
Thank you Don for the nice comment, glad you enjoyed the show. excellent idea on the field switch, I will remember that! Really appreciate your visiting with us and checking out the video. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
Thank you Charles, so glad you enjoyed. I will have a video out sometime soon on Locomotive in PCS Fault and will show you in that video how we link the 2 locos up. Stay tuned to the channel :-) Really appreciate your watching today my friend.

Thank you for saying that. This is a very good company to work for. I cannot say anything bad about our new owners we have here. They are trying so very hard to make this a world class mining operation. Public relations is very important to them and I think that is just wonderful. Thank you so much for watching my friend.
Pleased to hear you had a good time riding along with us Mack. I get to do a lot of different things here, which is nice, I enjoy the variety. We appreciate your taking the time to watch and write in. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
Your very welcome Rick. I'm not a certified engineer, no one here is, we are operators. I don't want to take anything away from those guys who have gone thru extensive training to become certified, so I call our guys operators out of respect for the certified engineers. We appreciate your taking the time to ride along with us. May you have a most blessed day my friend.

Dave is a smooth operator. Most gentle coupling ever!!
yeah, that was so slow I was afraid the pin wouldn't drop. LOL
it's easy to be smooth when you don't have a dead line to meet that won't cost $1,000,000
Thank you very much darnoldie for the kind words. Glad
I didn't really bang them being on film and everything. It
did couple real smooth. We really appreciate your checking out the video. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
"Old Equipment." Nah, she's got personality (and an attitude.) Here you are doing the things that I could only dream of doing since I was a kid, playing with the "big boy trains."

I get to do a lot of different things around here Richard, this
is one of the fun things. Very much appreciate your
helping do some switching. May you have a most blessed

Well, that brought back some memories of me running GP-35's, GP-38-2's, and GP-40's back in the 80's switching in the yards here in Akron Ohio. Very cool. Thanks! :)

I started out working for the railroad in the mechanical dept. A
Though there were usually a few qualified engineers in the yard or in the engine house, I pretty much begged to get a chance to move a locomotive out of the shop.
Awesome Bill, thank you so much for sharing that neat story
with us. I would have loved talking with your grand father.
Always is a pleasure to have you pay us a visit and hear
from you. May you have a most blessed day my friend.
I've never seen inside a locomotive before, thanks Dave!
Your quite welcome Eni. Glad you found out something new.
We really appreciate your taking the time to watch and
write in my friend.
They let you drive? How cool. I used to love hostling engines in the motor pit. Used to side by side drag race GG1's with other fireman. Yeh, give a 19 year old an engine and it just turns into a very big toy.
Thank you very much John for the nice comment. I get to do
a lot of different things here, which is nice, I like variety.

Dave, you work all day fixing track, a job you truly love and show all of us, it's always the icing on the cake reward to get to play with the toys before Christmas 🙂🎄.

Dave so you got”volunteered “ to move the engine, what a day! wonderful experience,
I hope that they were able to sync up the other engines to operate the line hauling coal.
such a nice video, good to see things operating, just keep it moving back and forth
getting the coal loaded and dumped! good luck recharging the fire suppression system.
we have a huge CO2 suppression on the line on site. great video, always learn something new!
his fleet can MU, plus they can be DPU, plus be ran from a beltpack.
Hay Dave: hope all is well, it is neat seeing a full scale train being run from the ground!
when CSX GP-38-2 has radio control set up an it is just like a model railroad, just a whole
lot bigger! that was neat seeing at the throttle, it is intimidating moving all that mass
of an engine. keeping it nice and slow, and safe. the cars and engines roll easy once
rolling. good seeing you doing what you do best! barry
Thank you very much Barry for the nice comment and for taking the time to help us do some loco switching. We have a company come in,
Ansel? who recharges the FS system. May you have a

This video reminds me of when I was a kid spending the weekends at my Grandparents house. They lived right next to a cement company. And at night in bed Id listen to the switcher moving hopper cars until I'd fall asleep.

I would have loved
talking with your grandfather. Great memories for sure, how
lucky for a kid to be able to do that.

I’ve worked on two railroads, never seen a guy responsible for so much, and being trusted with so much, these responsibilities are not handed out Willy Nilly. Great stuff Dave. Thanx!
Thank you for the very kind words, yes I am responsible for a
large variety of things here, but I love it. Appreciate your dropping by to check out the video my friend.

Fascinating video and a great feeling of the power and mass of the locomotive. My appreciation for the risk and pressures running a big freight at speed has increased dramatically. Kinetic energy is all powerful and must be obeyed. Enjoyed this, thank you, take care and stay safe.

Now that was great seeing you on the controls Dave! You have a smooth touch. Coupling was perfect!
Thank you very much Big Moose for the kind words and for taking the time to help us switch our locos around. Just glad I didn't

Wow! I didn't even notice that you were moving! Thanks for sharing this interesting ride-along. Everybody should become familiar with railroad operations because railroads are everywhere.
Thank you very much Barney for the nice comment and for taking the time to help us do some loco switching. May you have a

Hi Dave! Great video! Enjoy being able to share these trips with you. Fascinating to see the insides of these locomotives.
Have a great weekend!

Nice video Dave - doing some switching on New Years Eve, pretty smooth on the coupling up. Cheers and hope you have a great weekend.

Very cool to watch how you operate a train. Always learn something new watching your videos, Dave.

Man oh man to have had only a 5 foot countdown that couple was spot on..... you pass the coffee cup test ( have your coffee on the stand if you don't spill a drop you pass).
Thank you Jason for the kind comment. Many folks have
written in saying about me being an engineer. But every time I
tell them I'm not an engineer, we have operators here who
got their job because it was a bid job and had seniority. Engineers
go thru extensive training and are certified. Out of respect for
guys like you who have earned their certification and understand
train handling I will never call these guys or myself an
engineer.
There ya go, engineer Dave. Awesome video, as usual .
Thank you very much Ken. Pleased to hear you had a good time
riding along with us. We appreciate your taking the time to

Didn’t know you drove the rigs, too! Awesome. More Dave at the controls !!! 😂 can definitely feel your excitement, I love how it has the clipboard for train orders! shows the age of the locomotive. These are oldies but goodies.

I had the reverser in neutral
and thought that would knock the sentry system out, guess I
found out something new again tonight from you! Keep those
comment coming my friend. Always is a pleasure to have
you visit with us.
@@ccrx6700
If the isolation switch is in “RUN”, and the generator field switch is up, the alerter can put it in penalty, even if the reverser is centered.
