It may be urban legend but years ago I was told a story about a 288 clocking 304km/h on Melbournes Eastern Freeway just before it opened. The story I was told by the cars owner was that the local Collingwood Highway Patrol were doing some high speed testing on the newly build Eastern Freeway prior to it opening and invited this gentleman down to give their highway patrol cars a run for their money. And that he certainly did with a recorded speed of 304km/h. That's something to dream about as you crawl to work at 15 km/h in peak hour traffic.
Sadly, my favourite Ferrari - and perhaps the only one I really would like to own - the 246 Dino wasn't there. I loved this vehicle since I saw the late Tony Curtis with it in a TV show aeons ago. I did note at 3:15, the camera showed what looks like bodywork blemishes on the F40 - definitely some pitting below the paint. I can't help but wonder though: what is the maintenance cost on such vehicles; the hourly workshop charges must be quite high? But thanks so much for doing this. Perhaps you'll do something similar on Porsches and even Lotuses?
The F40 anyday Chris Harris drove a few of these and then hoped in the F40 and did some Laps He rated the F40 the best of the lot.Pure bare bones Mechanical supercar no electronic driver aids. The F40 was the last car Enzo Ferrari signed of and he wanted to be as close as possible in driving feel and experience of F1 cars of that era
Great review as always Paul! Fun fact 1: US spec F40's have aluminum fuel tanks, whereas Euro spec feature rubber fuel bladders wrapped in sponge. These need changing every 10years at a cost of $18k..2. Lindsey Fox also owns each of these models and upon visiting his museum in Melbourne, was told he owns another 100(!) or so one-off models never released to the public at his personal hanger at an undisclosed location...
Nobody will rent you a genuine one even if you put $100k deposit. You might be able to rent or even buy an imitation Ferrari F40 for example for far less
Even before you said where you were I thought aha, Richmond! Used to walk past there to get to the ‘G after parking at a mates 😂 The 288 is fabulous but there’s just something other worldly about the F40
I have mixed feelings when looking at cars like these in showrooms. It's a shame they are not being driven but I understand people wanting to accumulate wealth from them.
We have a image gallery of these cars with more detail here: www.carexpert.com.au/car-news/these-5-classic-ferraris-are-worth-over-20-million
That window from the rear of the F50 to see the components of the engines is SOOOO cool! 🤯❤ I LOVE that feature! 🤯❤️

No Durometer readings?
😂
The enzo hands down. Absolute gem and icon
I went to see all of these cars
288 GTO for me. That was my dream car when I was young...not an F40.
F50 is my favorite and F40 because V12 engine and V8 engine so COOL

What a video. I am passing those windows almost everyday but only watch those Ferraris from outside. However, I had those Ferrari Lego sets 😂😂
My mate is the Brand Manager there
I just think that 288 GTO is gorgeous, I own a replica of one (video of it on my channel) it may be the closest I ever get to owning one…
You didn't talk about the RAV4 competitor in the background
Absolutely love these videos would love to see more like this with Lamborghini, Porsche, McLaren and other brands
Definitely! Will try and organise.
@@CarExpertAus thanks for replying love the reviews
Great Video Paul.
288 GTO OMG
😍
Love the GTO.
Front of the Enzo looks like an F1 car with headlights added to the sides.
F40, also these cars are all the correct colour
🙌
I like the Ferrari F50 because her price is high and km/h is 312 so fast
I'd take the Enzo.
F40 every day of the week
Not “beadlock”, but “split rim” wheels.
The F40 anyday

A Black Enzo 🌑

Fun stuff is good
The F40 disks need replacing they are cracked where the drill holes - I would have thought they would maintain safety items.
I'd take La Ferrari please!
🙌
F40!!
no bollards between the public road and the car collection..😢 who wants to go halfs in a smash & grab
The studs around the outside of the wheel indicate its a two/three piece wheel.
Thanks for that!
Definitely not bead lock.
@@glennp9904 Definitely not.
I like the f50 to much
Another wicked review, thank you 🙏
Enzo for me.
any 250GTO? nah thats too rare
They are art pieces that can also be driven.
World most popular company ❤
288 GTO is gorgeus . I would put it in my living room.
Me too!
WOW
Can we rent these car for a day?
I wish!
Nobody will rent you a genuine one even if you put $100k deposit. You might be able to rent or even buy an imitation Ferrari F40 for example for far less
F50 purely for the sound it makes
N/A V12 is glorious stuff!
Great review. Minor point- downforce units would be N (Newtons) not Nm which is torque.
Great video Paul! 288 GTO all day for me.
The F40 was worth as much as seven homes in the 80’s but you’d get about the cost of one or two homes for it today.
Crazy how times have changed!
That 288 is just incredible. What an experience.
Stunner of a car and it's in great condition.
Disappointing we didn't see which model handles the sinewaves best. Ohh and F40. Still the best car ever made.
Great video! I would take the F50
That 288 GTB.......🥰😍🤩🥴
Wicked video brother. I really enjoy this channel
Awesome 🤙🏽
Glad you enjoy it!

Supercar advocates feeling the pinch and moving some fleet on 😂😂
😂
NICE ONE PAUL.
I'VE WASHED A F40. AND WAS ALLOWED TO SIT IN IT... THAT IS FOR ME...
Love a bit of swan st action
Sell them all, give me the money, and ill buy a Hyundai to make up for it
😂
Definitely the F40. That was my dream car as a kid and still is.
288 GTO
Paul, if they ever have a F1 ' reverse ' race, my money is on you.
😂
You never know!
I would buy all this cars, if i had the money 😅
1st comment
i'll have a porsche thanks.
😳
i know a place you can see them parked next to each other in one garage, David Lee's garage.
Now that you have reviewed the LaFerrari... one must also review the McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder
i will take the 458 speciale behind the LeFerrari :)

Totally! It becomes hard when they skyrocket in value like these - at $5m I wouldn't want to risk somebody busy on their phone running into me.
Enzo for me.
