I work with several blokes, like me in their late 50s early 60s. I admire them as it's reciprocated in this, they love their metal music, wear the associated clothes which come with the genre and still ride motorbikes.
Me, I still wear tailor made suits, ride Vespas, go to gigs. There is a common denominator. It's longevity of love. Love of the style of clothes, not fashion, love for multiple time periods and people who you met through a common interest.
There is a vacuousness to the times we live in now. Most people look like they've put their clothes on with a shovel. If I have a ride out we a mate and we meet bikers we admire them and talk to them. Strangely they are normally in their 50s/ 60s grandparents, married for decades. Why, because they are true, never waver from the love of the things like themselves that has lasted. Generation X as we are socially called. Wisdom of life, aged. My love of my wife is thee same as the day we met decades ago. My passion for music, British style and its admiration of the best of other countries style and music as never changed. If by default that I am approaching sixty that makes me fake, and sad to love the stuff I loved 50 odd years ago, I am very happy to live with that. And the people I know, know that I am the same yesterday as today, in my love of life. Also, I wasn't born with a plum in my gob, I grew up in the late 60s/ early 70s in a high rise block in Smethwick. In a working class home, but my parents and families dress in style in what they could afford and strove to love things that were constant, true and good.

Yeah, I left school 1981. We had tribes. It made life interesting. I was mod. There was always an air of violence going on. from gigs to the local school fate 😂 always appreciated, skins punks, anarchist's, two tone, rockers, reggae etc.
      Miss those times.
