There are few games that I can say made me cry. And this was one of them. How tragic is it..having those dreams and thinking his daughter was dead all this time. Only to meet her just before she truly dies. That was such a tragedy.
This entire game was a long, path of tragedy. My heart was clenched in a tight fist the entire time I played this game. It reminded me of all the things I used to search for in an RPG - All the things I thought was finally gone from this era of gaming. Thank you, Microsoft Gaming Studios, Feelplus and Mistwalker for creating this game.
When she said "The flowers. They let me see you one more time." I finally realized that she meant she planted the flowers and made sure no one harmed them and wished to see her father again...
This is undoubtedly the saddest scene I've seen in a game in my entire life. When I saw it for the first time (I played via backward compatibility on Xbox One) I stayed a week away from the game.
Me too, I was still crying from that scene playing the beginning of disc 2 when you where getting ready for the funeral. Then cried all the way through the funeral 😂
@@danielforbes6661 I wish I could but that would mean plugging up my old ass 360 and buy it digitally because I don't have the physical anymore and it doesn't read discs anymore
My first thoughts of this game at this point were "goddanm this man has nothing but bad memories and know he just remembered his daughter's death as he watching he die again"
I dare anyone to stay stone faced while playing this game Even the title of the game says it's going to be a tear jerker Which is why I collect the dream sequences but don't read them (I almost lost it reading Hanna's departure)
This shows that even a loveable goof like Jansen can show a whole different side in given situations. Side note, his eyes are amazing. Im a guy but i still think they're really nice, like ikki in the amnesia anime
What happens when you have interesting characters that develop in engaging settings? You get great games. What happens when developers get lazy and just want to make money, so they pay reviewers huge amounts of money to give their games good scores, and win awards? MW.
This scene gets me every single time. I just bought Lost Odyssey, cause I remembered playing long ago and I felt like playing again. This brings back so much memories. What disk is it ?
You know what ? I never played that game and i typed "lost odyssey sad" because it's often with sad scènes that you see if a game has Heart. And, i must Say.....this looks promising..
It’s a really good game a great JRPG one of the best exclusive of the Xbox 360 if you have an Xbox one or series it’s worth to get it a great story too
My only minor gripe with this game I found was that strand of hair on Kaims forehead which defies gravity in cutscenes when hes bending over something, it runs down this forehead then towards the floor instead of straight towards the floor :3
Lirum's death and funeral was really risky on a pacing level, but Hironobu Sakaguchi made it pay off. I mean think about it. How many games have a death matter that much in the grand scheme of things?

Right? To think that this was the amount of sheer passion that went into game development back then.
Same, 3 games made me cry as a grown ass man and I'm proud this is one of them

this game is so underrated :/
Renne Bright YES!!!!!!!!! Masterpiece.
when you have lost a parent, this scene is pure hell....
Oh god, I straight up cried to this scene. I played it maybe a few months after my mom passed and it was absolutely brutal.
It is for me...
When she said "The flowers. They let me see you one more time." I finally realized that she meant she planted the flowers and made sure no one harmed them and wished to see her father again...
I was about to quit, too, but this scene made me and my father both cry.
Every few years I come back and watch these cutscenes. This one will always make me cry my eyes out
4:20....... It hits me everytime..... just feel the grief and sadness flow through you...
This is undoubtedly the saddest scene I've seen in a game in my entire life. When I saw it for the first time (I played via backward compatibility on Xbox One) I stayed a week away from the game.
This game needs a remake!! It’s pure art
Dammit, I'm not crying. I just got something in my eye... and got kicked in the balls by my feels.
cried my eyes out the first time I saw this while playing the game. this game is so underrated
Bee Lor it really is
Me too, I was still crying from that scene playing the beginning of disc 2 when you where getting ready for the funeral. Then cried all the way through the funeral 😂

God dammit man... I couldn't watch this scene. This was one of the few rpgs to make me cry and I'm a grown ass man.
it just means you are human not matter the age
This made me cry like a bitch man.
This scene made me cry so badly :'(
13 freaking years... 13 years... And I Still sob.
This scene was one of the things that made me fall inlove with this game.
I'm crying too just watching it again.
this is really an emotional part in any RPG game ever brings tears to my eyes and there really is tears in my eyes T-T
Guy who does Kaim's voice also does Bloo's voice from Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends.
Deathinnovember Keith Ferguson is a talented voice actor
He also did Basch fon Rotzenberg from ffxii
I can´t stop my tears when I saw this scene again.
one of the best scenes ever
After 15 years still makes me cry.
No matter how many times I play through this... This scene always hits me where it hurts.
One of the saddest scenes EVER...damn...
TT If you know someone who was not touched by this scene, call the police. There is a potential serial killer.
You made my lmao with that comment
I havent even played this game, and the first minute killed me O.O Sakaguchi thank you!
This as the very first scene in a video game (and movie) that made me (at that time an 22 year old man) cry like a baby.
My first thoughts of this game at this point were "goddanm this man has nothing but bad memories and know he just remembered his daughter's death as he watching he die again"

The true Final Fantasy 13

this scene and this song still gets me to this day :(
SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The 'immortals' are from a different world. They just age slower in the world they travelled to.
k
ever time i see this scene tears fall from my eyes not many games do that to me
Took me forever to play this masterpiece, because I didn't want to buy a goddamn 360. Loved every part of it, and this scene broke me.

@Boadicia
im guessing it was i love you, or something like that judging from kaim's answer to what she said.
DAMN YOU LOADING SCREEN!
You ruin every moment!
I came here to cry and nothing else…
This scene gets me every single time. I just bought Lost Odyssey, cause I remembered playing long ago and I felt like playing again. This brings back so much memories. What disk is it ?
first disc I think
I still play this game today
This is the only video game to ever make me cry. And this is the scene that did it. Great game by a legendary development team
Same only one that made me cry too
You know what ? I never played that game and i typed "lost odyssey sad" because it's often with sad scènes that you see if a game has Heart. And, i must Say.....this looks promising..
It’s a really good game a great JRPG one of the best exclusive of the Xbox 360 if you have an Xbox one or series it’s worth to get it a great story too
the woman who plays cooke played phil and lil on rugrats :D
This made me cry and its hard for me to cry
Fuck this scene. Replaying this and totally forgot how heartbreaking this game is.
to tell the truth. i was about to quit playing the game until i reached that part.
one of the only games that i baught and will never part with. I loved this game and this scene still gets me even though i have played through 4 times
The first thing that came to my mind was "HE'S A GRANDPA!"
This game and Metal Gear Solid 4 are two of the saddest games I've played
My only minor gripe with this game I found was that strand of hair on Kaims forehead which defies gravity in cutscenes when hes bending over something, it runs down this forehead then towards the floor instead of straight towards the floor :3
I never cried while playing game like I did that day
At least she passed away happy...
Kaim's cute when he cries T^T
if they do make the 2nd one...they obviously cant put the same characters in it bc there really wouldnt be a good story
The feels... YAMERO!
Does anyone know the name of the instrumental that plays near the end?
One of the tragic parents to be is the one where you outlived your child
Lirum's death and funeral was really risky on a pacing level, but Hironobu Sakaguchi made it pay off.
I mean think about it. How many games have a death matter that much in the grand scheme of things?
This scene made my eyes sweaty.
thanks for sh*tting my pants...
Anyone who says they don’t cry watching this doesn’t have a hart
damn it! im crying again T.T
Did the game ever reveal what Lirum said in Kaim's ear?
Perhaps "I love you".
tempted to get an xbox 360, just so i can play this again.
@OMFGPrinnyDood same
Too bad the game goes downhill from the end of disc 1
Derek Zoolander I disagree
Derek Zoolander i disagree too I really enjoyed all the way to the finish
Derek Zoolander actually the story and character development only pick up speed from disc 2 on, especially after kaim and Sarah are reunited
I don't really like Lost Odyssey and this is a good example why. This scene is so cheesy to me.
GAY!
HAHA ANYONE WHO CRIES IS GAY AND I DON'T CRY - NOT BECAUSE I'M EXTREMELY INSECURE BUT BECAUSE I'M A MAN!
