    The Toyota/Lexus cars are still great cars with reliability and good resale value. However, if there is no Government rebate any longer, there are other brands and choices to sway people away for the similar price without rebates.

      If there are no rebates for all cars then it's a fair market. A rebate will definitely help seal off the deal.

    PSA for folks living in or moving to MB: government just announced the new Manitoba Electric Vehicle Rebate Program with a rebate of up to $4K for new and $2.5K for used EVs/PHEVs under $70K. And the NX 450h+ does appear to be on the list.

      Thanks for the update! I saw this news after I posted this video.

    I ordered my 2025 NX450h+ in April(2024). At this point the dealer is saying there is a good possibility that my vehicle won’t be made before they switch over to the 2026 year models. Which also means a good possibility that I will lose the rebate. Pretty sure they will be over that $60,000 MSRP cutoff. LSFT…how long did you have to wait?

      @lsft หลายเดือนก่อน

      My wait is different from the current situation - I put my deposit before they even announced the new generation (April 2021) and I got my car in March 2022. But I got the first batch of NX450h+ that arrived our shores. If it's 2026 and it does get newer features, it might be worth the $5k rebate difference. I have heard more than 1 year wait.. so it could be June/July 2025. I also bought my NX with no rebate as well - as I got it 1 month before the rebate kicked in.

      @@lsft I will still buy it regardless because that is the model I want. It just seems a bit unfair as you have no control over the build date!

      @@TechJunky777 you are right. It's unfortunate. I do hope that they would keep the price, but nobody knows about the upcoming year's budget and what will happen to the iZEV program as well.

    I know rebates aren't designed to last forever, it is taxpayer money in some sense. However it does sting a little if you were planning to get a car you had planned 2 years ago, and still haven't gotten it (like the NX450 for myself). I live in BC, so it was a bit jarring to see the government pull this off, after making big pushes to be more EV friendly, this goes against it. THe logic of they want car manufactures to bring prices down, won't apply to BC nor Canada, as our prices are generally will be higher vs the US market. We have A, smaller population, B, stupid tax burdens, and C, Currency differences. All in all, if they want these programs to be fair, they should allow for you to apply when you have a car in waiting. Part of the big reason for me not to go to EV, is it was way too expensive for the return of investment, and most dealerships (besides Tesla) were selling it with dealership markups, even some dealers were using the $5k federal rebate as a mark up. Also When Telsa finally become appealing they started doing price drops, and killed any residual value , yes cars aren't meant to hold value, but there are some cars that do it better then others, and it would be nice to get some trade in value for my next car in 10-15 years.

      Well said. I missed the rebate cos I got my car 1 month early. I know I might have put salt on the wound for you. I think the market and the higher interest rates have changed how the EV market goes and how hybrids became the stepping stone to the next technology. Hope your wait wouldn't be long, but you will miss out the $2k rebate from the BC gov.

    Rebates are nice........ However, Those who feel they area must have Jus' like those who do not use common sense and say I must have a spare tire... & .... Pass up a fine automobile W/O using common sense to: (simply carry an inflator , a string insert-er that has tar in the string ....which IMO is far safer than jacking up a vehicle/ Much quicker than waiting for AAA next to a fwy....& you Do-Not have to take the goofy tire to a gas station wait while being repaired.....All point to how ignorant these nay- sayers are).....one caviot is however, Remove and replace the RUN Flats W/ Michelin's @ the dealer and get credit back like I did and you are gold!
