If you ever want to hear stories about crazy or stupid people, ask a cashier in a convenience store.

The opposite of how horror movie characters would react.
    - Intro.
    - Scary noises.
    - I'm out.
    - Roll credits.

There was a 24 hour gas station in my area that stopped being 24 hour because, over a course of a couple months maybe, it was robbed something like a dozen times or more, I believe one night it was robbed twice.
I worked an all night job, not at a gas station, but that thing about the kinds of people that are up during those hours is true. I've seen people drive by with lights that were brighter than the noon sun, people riding horses in the middle of the night, and one night someone who was going way too fast and obliterated a deer.
About the video: the second I heard those sounds I would have been out of there so fast I would have been treading air like Shaggy.

I worked at a gas station in 1987 in a not so great part of town when I was 18 and very pregnant. One night they got robbed five minutes after I left. I quit the next day. Also my youngest brother was murdered 6 weeks ago at a gas station in Houston. No apparent reason, some juvenile with a gun. He was 28. I miss him a lot.

What a lousy manager. That was wrong on so many levels. Making him go to work in a flood. making him act as security when he's not trained in security. Leaving him alone with no electricity, lighting or internet. Not telling him people been hearing weird sounds. 😰

I love the way this chap builds up the story , i was mentally ticking all the boxes that are needed to include in the scenario as if watching a horror movie : night time , storm , no lights , apocalyptic scene on streets , dark interiors , no power , no internet , lone worker , very spooky . Imagine when the fella turned up for the interview for the night shift job , and the boss knowing he is new and knowing what goes on in the gas station at night , looks at him and says , " You ain't from around here , are you boy ? "

I went to get gas at 4am a couple weeks ago. The station with the best prices is usually packed so i just took my keys, license, enough cash just for gas. It was scary going but I desperately needed gas. Fortunately no sketchy people around. One car seemed like a guy going to work getting gas I went to window to pay and nobody at counter guy said to keep knocking took awhile, another car comes and goes. Girl finally comes to the window. Im like ‘girl u brave to be working this shift’. A lot of times when i go late a girl is working I felt like giving her a tip just for working that crazy shift

I worked a job like that once, it had a bullet proof window where you pay for gas. One man didn't like what I said to him. Something about not letting him in for snacks and he took a tire iron to that window. Thank GOD it didn't break through just cracked first layer. Pushed the panic button and had the cops there in moments!

Just a little over a year ago, our 7-Eleven was robbed. A guy came in with a gun, took the money in the cash register, everyone’s cellphones and made them go in the back office and count to 400. He was eventually caught and come to find he came from a different state with two other friends. The guy who worked that shift was never the same. He tried coming back a couple of times but he couldn’t get over the mental hold it had on him. 10-6 shift. There’s not enough money.

I was a cashier in our city’s first self serve gas station. I sat in a little booth , surrounded by thick glass, and turned the pumps on and off- then collected the $$$.
This was in the 70’s… I remember how MAD the people were when the gas rationing started… then the Price of gasoline went over
$1.00 a gallon… I was threatened daily. When I had the night shift my boyfriend- (now my husband ) sat outside In his truck with a loaded gun after we were robbed…. I’d hate to be working there now!

I think someone may be living in that gas station up in the attic, only coming down at night to grab something to eat, drink and relieve himself. Just my theory! :) I heard a couple years ago that teachers in my town think the local intermediate school is haunted, because those who work there late into the night hear strange sounds when they think they're alone in the school, and it's been going on for years or even decades. It is an old building that's been refurbished. I prefer to think more normal explanations, like maybe there's some homeless child who hides somewhere in the school at the end of the school day, and comes out when s/he thinks everyone has gone home to look for food. I mean, I like that theory better than a ghost.

I used to be a manager in a Dining Hall at a University that was supposed to be haunted. One night when I was closing by myself I was putting the money in the safe in an office upstairs when I had to urinate real bad so I decided to use the upstairs bathroom by the balcony after I had put the money away. Now I forgot to say the building is extremely dark especially upstairs. As I was walking across the balcony toward the bathroom I heard a chair slide back from a table, it made a distinct screeching sound. I was across the balcony, down the back stairs and outside the building next to a tree relieving myself before you could count to three. That's not the only "spooky" thing that happened to me while I worked there.

Thank God when I worked at a gas/c-store it was 2nd shift, not 3rd, but it was enough. The crazies liked to get an early start and we didn't lock the doors until the shift change, so for the last hour of my shift every night things got tense. Thankfully, I never got robbed, but I did get conned by a quick-change artist once (he got about 5 other stations, too, before he got picked up, he was slick) and the place was robbed twice while during other shifts while I worked there. Those last hours of shifts were nuts, people were starting to head out from bars who shouldn't have been driving but wanted coffee or food to make them 'less drunk', people would come into the store at 5 minutes to lockdown and want to spend forever making up their minds (and we'd have to lock the door with them inside to keep others from trying to sneak in while we waited, letting each one out after they checked out one by one), guys from the local 'riding club' would drop in (not quite Sons of Anarchy but definitely not the kind who helped keep kids who had to testify in court safe, either)... I am so damn glad I didn't get held up and that I don't have that POS job anymore.

11602 North Houston Roslyn was the stop n go I worked at. One night a man began robbing customers at the gas pumps. I didn't realize what was happening out there I was checking out customers. A friend was visiting when I looked up and saw Robert reaching out the door grabbing customer by the hair pulling into the store. That customer ran to the door waving arms as if under attack by bees. I was looking for attacking insects. About the same time as the robber , Harris County deputy pulled up and they locked eyes. The robber ran in one direction the deputy took off in another direction. I never saw that guy with the shotgun. I did see the cop and I wondered where he went. This all happened in seconds. Nobody was shot but shot's were fired off site as the robber was trying to get away. The robber fired over the officers head to let him know, this one is going to get away with or without your life.
See whenever they locked eyes the officer realized his best maneuver at the time would be to get away. I would have done the same thing if I would have encountered somebody with a shotgun ready to go. There's not a lot of survival time left in your life if you have a steering wheel in your hand and he's got a shotgun in his. The officer did return and began chasing the perpetrator that's when the shot was fired and again the officer decided to live instead of be a hero. They didn't wall off the city or anything like that. The perp got away and that's all there was to it.
Working at that location I was robbed at gunpoint three times I was not the only one there to be robbed another employee was robbed that 11:00 to 7:00 shift. The shotgun man he showed up at 9:00 at night.
