    I really dig that Uli is so humble, he said that he is not a better climber than Heckmier, but that the times have changed. He is the best climber of all time, period. Seems like a heck of a nice guy 2

    I love seeing this kind of climbing. No hiking way up a valley, up into a col, and then follow a ridge... Just straight up the face!

    @TheScottgb as the others have said the altitude is a big different but he also practiced on the Eiger for quite a while perfecting every section.

    i never said that's all sherpas do. that would be very preposterous of me. being fit is not the only factor that goes into high-altitude climbing. you can be the most fit person alive, but get cought in a storm while you're on the summit, and you're toast.
    most 8000ers also demand high skill and mountaineering experiance, as one wrong step can set you on a 14000ft journey down the face of the peak.
    to put things short - there's much more that goes into climbing than what meets the eye.

    Carrying the equipment to base camp. Is that all you think the Sherpas do? I agree with Zynex this is real climbing. Any fit person can climb Everest if they have the money. But unike people like Zynex i dont look down on it and go on about true Apinists. Its still a great achievment and if i had the money would do it.

    The Buddhist blessing is very important. All the mountaineers do it. Doesn't keep you from getting killed or failing to get to the summit but it is very important. Or...you could fart into the wind. Same thing in the long run.

    No harmony with nature, no contemplation, no enjoyment, in short : no hétique. This experience exists only because of the desire that drives them to climb to the top of a mountain and down there by pure vanity.
    Of course these alpinists have a good technic, their experience has form, but their ego destroyed the substance... I miss Erhard Loretan...

    • @markdanskin8202
      @markdanskin8202 5 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Leave the contemplation for a safer route. There is no room for wanderlust in such a dangerous environment, so best to stick to moving quickly and efficiently. Just because you cant enjoy something in the moment doesn't mean you aren't getting something out of it in the long run. These guys look like they had a lot of fun climbing the mountain this way, and they climbed it in their own style, nothing wrong with that.

      Of course! I mean your imaginary, made up friend is WAY more legit than theirs is! How dumb could they be? That 2700 year old book written by man pretty much confirms that your spooky ghost father that no one has ever seen is the true, real one. Not all of those 100s of other silly religions....
