I had lost 5 loved ones in the previous 4 years, and had not allowed myself to properly grieve. Angelina came into my life at just the right time as did this song. She started writing this song shortly after her 2nd grandpa died in Nov. 2019, during the filming of the finals or semi finals (or just right after) of AGT-C, she was 13. Angie started to write this shortly after his death & recorded it in 2020 at 14, ( her 1st grandpa died in 2018 & she did a dedication song for him too). Republic Records Co-Founder and C.E.O. This is actually a live performance and not the studio recording she did whit Stargate. They did produce the song however, so they probably gave Angekina a few pointers on the arrangement. Still we know that Angelina has done arrengments of songs since she was 8 or 9 yo. Stargate did mention however, that they had worked whit 3 singers ever, to deliver perfect vocal tracks in the studio, in one take. Namely Beoncey Knowles, Sam Smith and Angelina Jordan. 3 fairly good singers there I would say.

I must have listened to this track 50 or more times guys and every time it rips feeling out of me, so poweful, so genuine. U guys should go to her consert in Sandefjord (close to Oslo) the 10th of July. A garden party consert - max 2.000 people. Oslo is 2 hours from London. Sandefjord is also a beautiful city to visit. No seating and the price is around 50 pounds.

I'm a lot more impressed by this than I am with her covers (which isn't a criticism at all, just in case I get flamed by her followers). I've always said she has a fantastic voice and is super talented, but her songwriting skill is superb. To be able to grasp your emotions with just lyrics themselves is a talent. Add in her heartfelt performance, and you have a winner. I completely agree. If you had a well established artist release this, it would top the charts. After this song she dropped another original with Republic called 7th HEAVEN. a jazzy song with some positive messages. Very different from this and quite fun. I can say the same about SHIELD .. another of her originals, that was written when she was 12, I believe. The words in SHIELD are profound and really show a private side of Angelina. It's the first performance she did with the team at Republic Records. The head of the LA studio has been working with her ever since . And she's a very competent singer as we know. Would have been a strange anomaly if the result wasnt very professional. The interesting thing with RR is that they seem to be willing to play the long game with her. This is actually a live performance and not the studio recording she did whit Stargate. They did produce the song however, so they probably gave Angekina a few pointers on the arrangement. Still we know that Angelina has done arrengments of songs since she was 8 or 9 yo. Stargate did mention however, that they had worked whit 3 singers ever, to deliver perfect vocal tracks in the studio, in one take. Namely Beoncey Knowles, Sam Smith and Angelina Jordan. 3 fairly good singers there I would say.
Good point Kris, but Stargate has also worked with 30+ other big name vocalists that didn't make the one-n-done list.

I must have listened to this track 50 or more times guys and every time it rips feeling out of me, so poweful, so genuine. The first few time listening I had tears rolling down my face and I don't mind admitting it. I'm a huge fan of this amazing teenager (now 16) and wish her all the success she desires. It was her first original with Republic Records but she already wrote a 3 originals before « What Is life » , « Shield » and « Oslo ».
All her originals is very beautiful and also so different I feel. I like them all but somehow Oslo just gets to my heart.

U guys should go to her consert in Sandefjord (close to Oslo) the 10th of July. A garden party consert - max 2.000 people. Oslo is 2 hours from London. Sandefjord is also a beautiful city to visit. No seating and the price is around 50 pounds.

Very nice reaction and comments BP's. Just a beautifully written and beautifully sung song by this young lady. She has a big heart and it shows very much through this original song written by a 13-14 year old girl. It still gets to me every time I listen to this, remembering lost loved ones but it is more of a heeling song to me. Angelina has made a huge difference in my life since I discovered this wonderful human being and I am grateful for that. I'm a lot more impressed by this than I am with her covers (which isn't a criticism at all, just in case I get flamed by her followers). I've always said she has a fantastic voice and is super talented, but her songwriting skill is superb. To be able to grasp your emotions with just lyrics themselves is a talent. Add in her heartfelt performance, and you have a winner. I completely agree. If you had a well established artist release this, it would top the charts. She'll definitely get there, and deservedly so.

This is the second and only live video of this song. The first one has the words over hand painted art by her and her grandmother. The third is a story video with her reading this as her younger sister Juliet plays her and her uncle/ manager plays her Grandpa
After this song she dropped another original with Republic called 7th HEAVEN. a jazzy song with some positive messages. Very different from this and quite fun. I can say the same about SHIELD .. another of her originals, that was written when she was 12, I believe. The words in SHIELD are profound and really show a private side of Angelina. I think of it as a prayer and love it. She is amazingly talented and a great writer. Her other two originals are WHAT IS LIFE? which was her 1st, and OSLO, about the city she was born at.

It's the first performance she did with the team at Republic Records. The head of the LA studio has been working with her ever since . And she's a very competent singer as we know. Would have been a strange anomaly if the result wasnt very professional.
The interesting thing with RR is that they seem to be willing to play the long game with her. Which is quite unusual these days.
With an artist as good as AJ "Hands off" is best. Let her do her thing and the money will flow from this golden goose. If Republic try to stere her it will back fire.
