I really like that Formex is using the SW-300 and not just another 2824 or its clones, when they absolutely could have for the same price. Hopefully other brands like CW start to use this far better movement more often.
New YoureTerrific video! Have I already watched other videos about this watch? Yes. Am I in any way interested in this watch? No. Will I watch and enjoy every second of this video? Absolutely. Do I know Evan’s wrist size? In every unit imaginable.
I like what Formex is laying down. They really seem to listen to, and try to cater to, the core watch audience. I met up with them at a local event in Dallas and they were really nice as well. Interesting engineering and approaches to adjustable clasps, cases, etc.
Both are cool and I love what Formex is doing relating to engineering. Slim diver, quick release system, and adjustable clasp is really crazy at this price point.
Both sizes seem wearable, but that's also dependent on the shape (not just the overall circumference) of ones wrist. I'm liking the matte finish on the bezel. It's giving me Rolex Yacht Master vibes.
The Essence Leggera on the rubber strap is my summer watch. The glide adjustability of the strap is very useful in summer, as it is more precise than just selecting another hole. I wish you could show us what the Reef looks like on a 7" wrist. I guess we have to buy one to find out.
Just to toss it out there Formex did confirm to me that there will be a Baby Reef GMT sometime late this year or early next in a Facebook comment in their group. Big big fan of my Reef diver. Highly recommend anyone who is interested try one out. They can be had for incredible prices on secondary if you’re unsure about the price on a “micro” brand, but I assure you it’s worth retail all day long if you actually plan to keep it
Out of curiosity how many links do you have on each side (how many on 6’o clock side and how many on 12’o clock side). I also have a 7 inch wrist and just curious how you have your baby reef set up.
How big is your wrist? Would be interested to see what it looks like on a 7" wrist... Anywhooooo, huge fan of their 41 Carbon Essence, the 39.5 is an awesome size. Also, anyone who hasn't used a deployant clasp with micro-adjustments, has no idea what they are missing out on. If you work out, run, or are physically active then you'll notice your wrist swells and contracts throughout your activity / day. The micro adjustments allow me to quickly adjust my watch as I go from rest to active and back to rest. This is super useful in the gym or rock climbing.
@@r3dsnow757 To each their own, most people don't bang their wrists often in the gym and if they do, sapphire + zirconium + carbon fiber don't take scratches easily, if at all. The way the face flexes is comfortable too. My watch still looks like new, despite the fact it's been on rock faces, gym rock walls, yoga, and a weight routine, weekly, since I got it in 2021. My old $100 Citizen with crystal on the other hand has giant gashes from where the rock has scrapped across it.
Maybe it's an optical illusion, but the Baby Reef looks like it wears small despite the weirdly wide bracelet. And that's perfect by me, my dream watch is a 38-39mm Seamaster with the thinness of the 90s Brosnan models, and this comes damn close to that. Can't decide on a colour though!
Mr 7” guru. You’ve handled a fair few formexes (formices?) and montas. Similar/same or do you rate one over the other? This watch is really nice I like it a lot but the relatively new Monta ocean king also looks splendid.
I would consider buying this, or the Essence, BUT I don’t like the easily removable bezel on this, neither do I like the moving “suspension” system on the Essence. I want a solid watch, these unnecessary features are deal breakers for me!
Awesome video Evan! Was great to see the two side-by-side and thank you for the detailed review! Both looked great on your 7" wrist! Would love to see what one of our watches would look like to on there too! Hope you are having a great start to the new year!
want the baby reef with the deep green colour of the bigger reef. actually the REEF GMT Green Dial Steel Bezel is the green i want never came across a watch channel with such good humour
Long time watcher, first time commenter. Least I think so, I did sell my santos for an explorer and may have mentioned it. Anyway, I was really excited to watch this as I like Formex watches but find them too big. I was hoping for a 37-38mm width. I currently have a Seiko SKX013 and love the dimensions, aside from the case height. I haven’t tried on the BB54 yet, but do you know of any comparable dive watches on the smaller side? In any event, love your channel and your approach to this crazy hobby of ours.
it’s not Daddy reef but the ‘MANs’ Reef and then you have the Baby Reef….😅😅😅😅😅 most men can wear a man’s watch 😊😊😊😊😊 kidding, good video. the bracelet adjustment is like the one A. Lange Sohne has I have two special edition Speedys that are 39mm and there just a little small for my 7 3/4 inch wrist…. but still wear them
Your mistake was doing math numbers when you should’ve done destiny digits, to find the true potential of these configurations. It’s a longer process but would far exceed 112 variations. Better yet, internet integrals would’ve dug up even more hidden underneath the computer screen

Evan at 3:42: "So for a watch to have that kind of accuracy rating at $1650, that's kind of surprising." My comment speaks directly to that statement. Your comment, on the other hand, speaks to nothing.

Why does the crown stick out? But seriously, just found this channel and enjoy the delivery style and the reviews.
I’ll allow it.
He didn’t even mention his wrist size either 🤧

The baby reef with the silver dial and the blue bezel looks TREMENDOUS. Now, if I only had 2 grand to frivolously spend on a watch.....
39.5mm? Yeah thats the kinda reef I can dive into..

Where have you found good prices on secondary market sites?
I messaged Formex last week regarding the baby reef GMT and they wouldn't divulge anything. Have you heard any more rumours?
"...no tools, except for the person who owns the watch" 😂😂😂
Cute! A watch like this though fits better in a 42 if you ask me.
Also damn 170 for a bezel feels kinda steep. Maybe. I don't even know anymore.
39 is a great size with huge market for it... great move by Formex to release the Reef in 39mm
That joke in the end is terrific!
Daddy Reef? You mean my weed guy in college?
We all had one.
The bezel looks like it comes off too easily. What's the risk of a bump knocking the bezel off when it's on the wrist?
If they do a Baby GMT I'm interested. Great video!
2:30 rule of three. Well done.
Absolutely love the angular ish design. Perfect for my tiny wrist.
What is your wirst size and why is the crown sticking out ;-)
Out of curiosity how many links do you have on each side (how many on 6’o clock side and how many on 12’o clock side). I also have a 7 inch wrist and just curious how you have your baby reef set up.
I’ve only two questions
1) Why does the crown stick out and 2) What size is your wrist ?
What dial color is the 42mm variant you're showcasing here? Black or silver?

Can't imagine wearing anything than a Casio F91W at the gym honestly

Oh wow, if they do the GMT in this 39.5mm size I'm sold.
Q: Why did the chicken cross the road?
A: Rolex!

Nice. Will you have a video on the Monta Oceanking?
Next week

I was cracking up thru out this video, subscribing!
Excited to see a baby reef gmt with that milanese bracelet.
Can you tell us how large your wrist is in cm?
Another great video about the watches that are priced roughly 1400$ that we (I? Yes, and I will!) shoulda spend on a watch! Thank you youreterrific🤝
You should consider putting your wrist size in your videos. It makes it hard to compare my wrist, your wrist and the watch dimensions. 😅
Seiko charging the same money for much less. I hope Formex becomes more popular, the customization options are the way forward for all brands.
And by me I mean help. Absolutely slayed me 😂
As you USA folks say Formex are knocking it out of the park
Wait. How large is your wrist again?
100k this year Evan! Get it!
7 in reef? 😂 Jokes aside I also agree the 42mm looks more "correct" and intentional on your 7 inch mystery wrist.
What's your wrist size?
Sorry.

You had me right up till the end Evan.
Then you had to throw a dad joke in.
Oh dear…
Does the bracelet taper a bit ?
that thing is sweet
Ask me how accurate my COSC certified Essence is...
How accurate is your COSC certified Essence please?
I think I might have to shoehorn a "special occasion" to buy myself this Formex
Nice but 154g is too heavy for me. With those dimensions it should be 135g tops.
It is a pity Formex has chosen this bezel which is not legible so for the money I would get a Sinn U50.
want the baby reef with the deep green colour of the bigger reef. actually the REEF GMT Green Dial Steel Bezel is the green i want
never came across a watch channel with such good humour
I'm just thankful Formex didn't call this a skin diver, because the unintended malapropism that would result is as predictable as it is unfortunate.

Reef Mini. Looks tiny on the wrist.
They seem to make nice watches but by their name they should be selling ant poison

Fine with a "Baby" but I ain't buying it. The crown is sticking too far out.
Yeah. What’s the deal with THAT?
something about the reef series just doesn't sit right with me, it has no elegance, just looks clunky and obtuse
I wish Wolbrook would follow this model of allowing the customers to configure their own design.
Cool watch but the crown is sticking out..pass
